Debby Doesn’t Get Us Down On Our Mother/Daughter Trip!- June 2012 TR- Link to the TR!

Hey:wave: Emma & Zuzu(Debby)

Did yall like Pop...or like it enough to stay there for the entirety of a trip? I absolutely love the 60s picture on the wall in the room!! Was that the AoA in the background of some of the pics? I thought it was since you said you would be going over to look around. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this resort....the jury is still out for me. I've heard good and bad. Since we're a family of 5, it would work...just not sure though.

Keep the pictures coming! popcorn::

Subbing in! I love the Port Orleans area, it's so pretty and serene. Pop is nice and all, but I don't think anyone would describe it as 'serene.' ;)

Off to read your last TR as well! I remember starting it and then losing the link, so finally time to see how it all worked out. :)

Hi there!!! Welcome!!! We love Port Orleans too, it's very peaceful!!!

Sorry, should have multi-quoted! Hey Heather! Pop was nice and definately fun especially for kids. I just prefer POFQ because it's so quiet and charming! POP's kitschy which is kind of cool. I definately think POP would be great for families though! AoA looks really cool from the outside, I've only seen photos of the rooms. We have lots of pics of the outside that Emma will be posting soon! It was really fun to explore the resorts!

The more trip reports I read, the more Disney resorts and hotels I want to try. Feel like I'm not that far from thinking about trying out multiple resorts in one trip but I'm pretty sure DW will not be agreeable to that idea. ;)

I totally understand! Emma and I have this fantasy of taking a trip where we stay at every single resort. Can you imagine? It would have to be a nice long one so that we could have 2 nights at each! :)

I roughly counted 20 resorts (if you combine AK villas with AKL as one, and not counting swan and dolphin) in my head. So that would be 40 nights! Ahh, that would be the ultimate Disney trip. :thumbsup2 You could even write a book about the adventure - 40 days and 40 nights in Disney.

I LOVE this idea! Hahahah! Now to play the lottery to finance it! :goodvibes

Holy cow!!! Can you imagine?? How much fun would that be?! And I'll buy the book....sounds interesting;)

Joining in. I was wondering how everyone did during the storm, so looking forward to your report! SO sorry it rained (and rained), but just from the initial part of it, it sounds like ya'll didn't let a little water ruin your trip!

YAY POP!!! That was such a fun day! I'm so glad we decided to take an earlier flight and get there to have some extra time! :goodvibes It made the vacation seem that much longer!!!! ;)

Me too! AoA was definitely worth seeing!

Woo Hoo! Y'all made it to POP! :cool1:

It's always such a nice bonus when you're room is ready early! :thumbsup2 Love all the pictures, especially the Hidden Mickeys in the carpet.

Can't wait to see pictures of AoA!

Yay! I know, I love being able to just throw our stuff in the room and not have to worry about leaving it with luggage services or anything!

Coming right up! :goodvibes

It rained a few times, on & off, while we were there. It wasn't bad, though.

Good! I'm glad!! :thumbsup2

Yall had such a precious room! I mean, I guess all Pop Century rooms look like that, but still.

WOAH, I'm not even kidding, I have the music from the opening credits to 101 Dalmatians stuck in my head, and then BAM BOOM, there are Pongo and Perdita, all up on that poster on the wall! (Please forgive me... I just thought that was WEIRDLY coincidental! :lmao:)

AHHH you had a view of Art of Animation!! That's so awesome! Can't wait to see pictures from the tour!

It was a great room! Very cute, but we definitely noticed the space difference when we checked in at POFQ! It seemed like a mansion! HAHA, ok not exactly, but it was considerably bigger!

YES! It is amazing! :cool1:

The room looks nice :thumbsup2 Yay for being close to the food court! I can't wait to see AoA!:artist:

It was great! I love being in a convenient location!

I thought Pop was great, but definitely for families with children (like my mom said)! It's very bright and colorful and fun...just not peaceful and quiet. Personally, I wouldn't stay here for a full trip unless I was on a tight budget! It's worth a visit, though!

Yes, that was AoA in the background! We were very close to the Generation Gap Bridge which connects the two resorts. AoA is the coolest thing! My pictures don't give it justice!

Yay! Welcome! I love Port Orleans too! It's soooooo beautiful! I think it's my favorite mod! I totally agree with you on Pop! It's definitely geared toward a demographic of families with young children.

Thank you! I hope you like it!

I am the same way! :rotfl: I love doing split stays because it feels like a brand new vacation!

We think that would be so amazing! Oh, I wish I had the time (and money) to do that!!!! Maybe someday...

Welcome! Yes, it rained and rained and rained, but we pushed through! We were NOT going to let it ruin the trip! ;)

Art of Animation
Wednesday June 20, 2012 Continued

Art of Animation looked so cool from across the water, and we were soooo excited to see it!! Only the Nemo and Cars section were open, but we did sneak a glance through (?) and over the construction fencing of the Lion King section.

We had just exited our room, and started moving along the path toward the bridge to Art of Animation.

Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!

I think the coolest thing about this resort is that you really feel like you are in the movie. In the Nemo section, you're the size of Nemo and his Dad. In the Cars section, you're the size of the cars. Everything is very proportional!

Our lunch at Landscape of Flavors is coming up next!

Loving the pictures of AoA! From what I've seen, this has to be one of the best themed resorts in Disney. Although, I don't think we'll ever stay there. I just can't justify the cost of a value suite for my family of 3. And Reid & Ed refuse to stay in a Little Mermaid room. :sad2:

I've never stayed at POP, so I'm unfamiliar with the lay of the land. How long is the Generation Gap bridge? Is is long walk (on the bridge) to AoA?

I like how you were saying everything is proportional - very cool!

Hmmmm....very interesting and way cool! Kinda makes me want to try it out for a couple of days. The suite would be perfect for my family of 5. We stayed at ASMo in 2010 and it was fine. I just wasn't crazy about the food court area....CRAZY with kids (this is coming from someone with 3 crazy kids:rolleyes) We totally know what you mean about the size of the rooms...value seemed small. I'll have to do some pricing :scratchin with AoA. Disney really is quite amazing when it comes to their landscapes and decor....I'm going to show Bill these pics and see what he says.

Thank you! It was really themed well! The price is ridiculously high, so I'm assuming they'll have to offer discounts. It would be great to see the rooms though! I've heard they are awesome too!

The bridge isn't very long, maybe a 5 minute walk from Pop side to AoA side- if you're strolling! I'm horrible at estimating time, but it was a pretty short walk across the bridge! Now, we were in a building that was relatively close to the bridge, and other Pop builidngs are pretty spread out, so it would take longer to get off the Pop area!

It's incredible! The Imaginears did a fantastic job with this one!!! :thumbsup2

I would love to see the rooms! They sound very functional and well themed. It would be awesome for your family- at least a couple of nights! I completely understand about the loudness of the values, but I'm hoping AoA won't be like that. It would be interesting to hear what you thought about the rooms if you do end up staying there!

Love your closeup pics! :thumbsup2 My favorite is the one with Squirt. Sweeeeet. Totally. ;)

Thank you! I LOVE Squirt!!

Love it!!!! cant wait to see more!!! more more more :thumbsup2

Thanks! We have tons of pictures coming up!! :goodvibes

Wow, Art of Animation looks just awesome. What a precious and creative resort! Love it. :cool1:

It really is! If you have time on your upcoming trip, I think it would be worth checking out! It's a VERY fun place!! :goodvibes BTW, YOU'RE TRIP IS SO CLOSE!!!!!!!!

Art of Animation looks so cool, I need to stay there one day- that's awesome how they shrink you down to the size of Nemo and Friends
