First a Little Pomp & Circumstance, then a Whole Lot of Disney Dining! COMPLETE

As you may recall from my breakfast review of the first full day of our trip, my favorite Disney World ride is Soarin’. Since I am the planner of all our Disney trips, I generally always schedule our first park day to be at Epcot so that our first ride of the trip is Soarin’. Well, that didn’t quite work out on this trip, because although we went to Epcot our first day, we didn’t get there until lunch time. This, of course, was way too late to ride Soarin’ without standing in line for hours (which I refuse to do), thanks in part to Test Track being down for a major refurbishment. :( Our second day we were at DTD and third at MK (where our first ride of the trip was on the Not-so-Great Goofini’s Barnstormer ). For our fourth day (the Saturday of the final weekend of the Flower & Garden Festival) we were again at Epcot but with it predicted to have big crowds that day, I had told the girls that they could sleep in and we would just go to the park for our lunch at Tutto Italia and spend just the afternoon at Epcot World Showcase, so no Soarin’ for us that day. :sad2: The next day DD2 and I went to Animal Kingdom, and so that brings us to this day…Monday, May 21.

Yes, we had been at Disney World for nearly a full week and I had not yet dangled my feet over the state of California!!!

But today, my dear DIS friends, we would finally rectify this grievous error. My feet would dangle not once, but twice (thanks to Fast Passes), with a short break in between rides for…

BREAKFAST AT SUNSHINE SEASONS

Now as you may have figured out by now, my daughters are not really breakfast eaters. For DD1, her idea of breakfast is a cup of strong coffee or if she really wants to splurge then she gets some kind of fancy coffee drink from Starbucks. :lmao: And as for DD2, having breakfast is just a total waste of sleeping time. Consequently, you will not see any big ‘ole breakfast platters in this review. So I guess a more accurate title for this review would be “Breakfast Snacks at Sunshine Seasons". And so, what were those “Breakfast Snacks”, you ask???

Strawberry Shortcake

This was primarily eaten by DD2, as DD1 refused to have more than a few bites of each of our two snacks. DD2 very much enjoyed it; however I’m not sure she considered it good enough to lose sleep over. ;) As for me, my fork was too busy shoveling the contents of this cup of deliciousness into my mouth :lmao:...

Blueberry Croissant Bread Pudding

And first I must give credit where credit is due, because I would have never known about this wonderful breakfast treat had I not read about it here on the DIS, and more specifically in a Feb. 2011 dining review by MickeyNicki. I didn’t get to have it on my next trip (May 2011), but it was near the top of my “Need to Try” list last time (Nov. 2011). And after having it then, it is now on my “MUST HAVE” snack list for every Disney trip. So if you happen to be reading this review, Nicki… :thanks:

And so with my tummy pleasantly full, I happily rode my favorite Disney World ride for the second time.

Ahhhh….Life is good when you are at Disney World! :cloud9:

NEXT UP: Hmmm…Let’s see, so far we have had Italian (twice), Canadian ( I guess you can call it that?) , Irish, English High Tea, French, and Asian. So what very popular International cuisine is conspicuously missing???

And no, there will be no Wiener Schnitzel appearing in my next review. :rotfl:

Nicely done Barb! I've seen that blueberry criossant bread pudding somewhere else on here and made a mental note to someday try this cup of deliciousness.

I don't see any Mexican, Moroccan, or Japanese in your international cuisine line up! :p (Or fishy land which I'm sure is where Coral Reef represents.)

Yum! I also really enjoyed the blueberry croissant bread pudding. As for the strawberry shortcake, I've never had it, but everyone seems to love it. There just isn't enough time to try everything.

Yummy, two of my fave Sunshine Season snacks :cool1:

I too have enjoyed strawberry shortcake for breakfast .... hey we're on vacation right? ;)

Just realised that I was in Epcot the day before you

Such a shame we didn't hook up

That croissant bread pudding is SO going on my list!! I think that is the only reason I really want to go to Sunshine Seasons!!

And I know where you are going to next!! JIKO... but I cheated!! It's on your table of contents!!

Love your review so far! I can't wait to see where you eat next!

Thank you so much for joining in, basketlacey! As for where we will be eating next...

Ok, well in addition to no wiener schnitzel, there will be no onion volcanoes or fishy (either raw and served with chopsticks or live and swimming in a big tank). ;) But I loved your comment about fishy land, Brenda...you definitely get points for creativity! :lmao: Oh, and as for Morocco...I did say very popular, didn't I??? :rotfl:

Nope, sorry Paula. I could never skip lunch when I'm at Epcot. Just not possible. No way, no how. :rotfl2:

So I guess that's what you get for cheating! :lmao:

Ahhhhh a Tinkerbell for the steak - I'm SO GLAD to see that! ::yes:: Mostly because I fully intend to order the filet myself. The mashed pototes do look very smoothe and creamy - yummmmmm!

I actually love cabernet wine so I think the wine reduction with the steak will be heavenly. And for dessert... I think I want to try the peanut butter pretzel cake thingie. I'll likely have had 6.5 creme brulees already by the time we get to YS.

I was disappointed you didn't get the pretzel dessert! I wanted to see it!!

It's looks like you might just see that pretzel dessert after all! :thumbsup2

Awww, yes that is a shame. :worried: But my offer still stands for the cheesecake and I'll even buy! :thumbsup2

Yay, I can see your pictures again now - and just in time too, for those two delicious decadent morsels look amazing. And,f or the record, your Epcot day starts much the same as ours - ride Soarin', breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, ride Soarin' again :thumbsup2

I'm guessing French is featured next :confused3

You know all of this talk of "Must Try" lists and never having enough time to try everything on them, reminded me of an interview that I heard last week on our local radio station. They did a phone interview with a Southern California man, who (along with his girlfriend) is attempting to visit Disneyland every day this year. As I was listening to the interview, I started daydreaming :cloud9: about how wonderful it would be to visit Disney World every day for a year and finally have enough time to try all the snacks/beverages/restaurants that are on my ever-growing list. Not to mention also having all my favorites again from my "Must Have" list, which also seems to be getting quite long. ;) Then my daydream was interrupted when the DJ asked, "How can you afford to eat there, with the park food being so expensive?" His answer, "Well, we always bring our own food and eat at a picnic table outside of the park."

(Reality sets in. :worried:)

One year of Disney World Food = $$$$$

Wow, way to take all the fun out of my dream! :lmao:

Anybody you know by chance, Brenda?

I read that article as well.. and I will have to be on the look out for them from now on. Honestly, D-land is not as tempting for food to me, I know hard to believe! :rotfl2: We go to D-land about 5-6 times a month but rarely are we there for more than 4 hours so there are many times we don't eat anything. I do love a Mickey pretzel that I share with DH but my current must have is a kid meal from River Belle Terrace which has the best roast beef sandwich! It has a small sandwich and fruit so between that and a lot of walking I try to make myself think that I'm actually doing something healthy! :rotfl:

We see a lot of people (there are a ton of annual passholders) bring their own food and snacks to the parks at D-land. Way different than WDW.

:)

I actually like quite a bit of food at DL but yes I can see going broke if you ate there everyday! Although they must have Premium AP's so they get a 15% (I think) discount on all food so that would help!!
