I've read most of the thread and apologize if it's been asked but can you request sugar free desserts? DH is diabetic and doesn't usually eat dessert (although he would eat a few chocolate covered strawberries).

I haven't done it myself, but i've heard that if there are any food concerns, that you could call and have a special plate made up.

The webpage says that they can handle most dietary concerns for this event, so I'm sure something can be done. I'd call/email about it before booking, maybe. I know there is a special number/email address for things like that. I'm sure someone here has it.

Just did this for the first time on July 4th wih my girlfriend visiting from Australia. It was well worth the money just for the view!!

And to everyone that thinks July 4th is such an awful time to go, I can't agree. The longest wait we had was maybe 20 minutes and that's when we decided to fastpass space mountain. We got there 30 minutes after it opened and basically did all major rides within a few hours. Now of course it got busier later but get there when it opens and fastpass what you can. All the difference.

Will have pictures and video to show soon :) I love the special decoration on the table too. Was awesome. We were also the first table right at the front. So I definitely think you're table is positioned at how quickly you book. I was the one that alerted July was available. So I was sure I was the first booked of the 4th and I seem to of been.

There is a form that should be filled out for the party for allergy concerns/dietary restrictions. You fill it out and fax it to WDW Special Diets two weeks prior to your ressie. I have one, so if you send me a PM with your e-mail address, I will send it.:)

Long time lurker to the DIS boards, and I finally decided to post. I love this thread! I've been wanting to book this for our upcoming October trip for a while, and it's reassuring to know that other folks are in the same boat. Even though I have the feeling that October won't be open for several weeks, I still can't help but check it at least a couple of times a day!

I did the same thing! When waiting for September to open, I checked atleast once or twice everyday through the month of June (even though August wasn't even open yet!) and then once August opened, I was checking every 10 minutes! So glad we didn't have to wait as long as the August visitors. I felt so bad for them because of how long they had to wait. Good luck!!

I had to cancel our Aug trip because my mother in law is sick and was put on hospice. We will now be going out to visit her in Oregon to help take care of her things and allow the children to say good bye. If anyone was looking for the party on Aug 26 we had a reservation of 6 that I just canceled. So more space will now be available.

I'm so sorry! That's awful. But I'm sure she is grateful to have you and your family around her at this time.

We were there on the 4th as well. I think we were table no. 4, as the hostess was counting off when she walked us to our table. I completely agree that it was money well spent, especially on such a crowded and long day! Loved the personalized centerpieces. But the best part was being told by the hostess that we could sit there for as long as we wanted, even after last call. We stayed to watch the electrical parade and Magic, Memories and You. I would absolutely recommend the dessert party.

We left the park just as the electrical parade had started..was a super long day! We got to the park around 8:40am, so we were ready to go. The longest wait we had was the bus back to the Waldorf.. lol.. but that was no problem, was just glad we got to do all the rides we wanted and not wait hours to do them :)

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. The same thing happened to us last year.

*hugs*

The dessert buffet isn't huge...but don't forget that there are only 50 people at the party, all with various arrival times. My son and I were there during Canadian March Break this year and there was never a line up (and we went up multiple times).

Wow, I had no idea it was a max of 50 people.....with 6 in our party I hope we can get tickets.

Looks like a fun trip! The Wishes dessert buffet looks reallllllly small - please tell me this was just part of it? What's your review? Was it worth the $$$?

I did not take pictures of it all ..just some random things around the area that looked good. They also had an ice cream station set up, with toppings and such but yeah, it's not massive ..but definitely enough desserts to satisfy.

The view alone was worth the money. It was amazing!

Love your St. Augustine pictures! I used to live there, right near the Presbyterian Church that you took photos of! I miss that place!

I actually live in Jacksonville ..and St. Augustine is one of my favorite places!! I love that church; it's beautiful :D

My husband and I hope to move back one day. He'd love to transfer to Jacksonville.
