I'm hoping to go 4.20-4/27 and stay at POR. A little nervous since I've never gone in April before, always January. I can hardly wait for the prices tomorrow!:cool1:

how much is the AAA discount? We have AAA but never really thought the discount was much? Do you book through disney and they add the AAA?

AAA is 10%. You don't need to go through AAA. You can book through Disney yourself and tell them you have AAA. There are a limited number of rooms that the AAA discount can be applied to. I plan to call tomorrow.

:flower3: IMPORTANT :flower3:

I have tickers turned off as my computer hates them (seriously, my pages load so much better without the tickers) so if anyone updates their tickers, I will not see it. I want to keep the first post as accurate as possible, so please PM me your updates, changes, and / or corrections.

Thanks!

so if I book with a AAA discount and then something better comes along I can call back and switch promos??? As long as there is availability??

Just making sure you got my info :goodvibes

yup. i started a thread about that the other day. We have to call to have them apply the AAA discount, right? I don't think there's anywhere online to enter it.

Yes you have to call! I just did, I took the AAA discount for now as a room only, and will wait. If a good promo comes out then I will switch to a room and tickets package. For now we took the AAA discount at POR, and will buy tickets through UT. They are cheaper than through disney by 105.31. so between the AAA discount and buying tickets at a discount its like putting together our own discounted package :rotfl: we will put money on a gift card to use for dining...first year going without the dining plan. We can still have 1 ts a day and split counter service meals and come out ahead! We prefer water (don't drink soda), and do not like those CS desserts which essentially you are paying for.

how much of a discount (%) was it?

not really sure...don't laugh! I am a dancer so math was not a strong point! The total for a POR standard room was 1,383.14 for 7 nts april 13-20th. original price for same room without AAA was 1,537.00. I hope I got that right?:rotfl:

that's exactly 10% which is what AAA normally is from what I've heard (although I hear at different times it may be higher, maybe during the really slow periods).
I wonder if it will be the same for AoA. I can't call 'til later.

actually the tickets are 110.20 cheaper through UT than disney for same options! not bad. Wonder if the room will have a discount code that is better than the combined AAA room/UT ticket combo? The AOA was priced pretty high for a value so I said no thanks! Thought about going back to ASMO and wasn't feeling it? We have stayed at POP many many times too, and ASMO waaaay back when they were toddlers. We have not stayed at POR since our 97' honeymoon, so I opted for that! Nice boatride to DTD, can eat at Wolfgang, or Earl of Sandwich reasonably cheap. POR has a great foodcourt and has some good entertainment options. It wasn't much more than AOA :thumbsup2

I know, the price is pretty hard to swallow. BUT, I figure the place is brand spanking new and really seems more like a mod than a Value.
I'm expecting (hoping) for at least 15-20% room discount to come out at some point.

omg those suites are crazy expensive....no way! that is why I went with POR, and requested Alligator Bayou side bld 17....all rooms have been refurbed and are beautiful and the pull down murphy bed is perfect for younger ds, so kids will have their own bed! He saw the pic of the alligator over the bed and wants to stay there! :goodvibes

i know, they're out of control. But we always get a suite (or condo) and it just looks so awesome.
