That is super cute! Good find!
Yay for no gestational diabetes!!
Yay!
You're getting so close!! This is the week of my pregnancy that I went to Disney. 30 weeks. Can you imagine walking around Disney all day every day for a week at this point? Yeah...it wasn't the best idea I've ever had.
I can't imagine! I could probably do it for awhile, but not all day. That would be exhausting! I did get a taste of the heat, though, since it was 90-100 degrees here every day last week.
Great news about no gestational diabetes. I had it with both of mine. I had to give myself insulin shots twice a day in the stomach with both of them. Not fun at all. And not being able to eat what I wanted to was horrible. I can't believe you only have about 10.5 weeks left. It seems like it is going fast.
That's too bad that you had to deal with GD. I have a friend who had it recently too. No fun, so I was so happy I didn't end up with it. I had a slightly increased risk, due to Type 2 diabetes running in my family (including my mom, although she didn't have GD when pregnant). I have to say that, although I've generally been eating pretty healthfully, I had a giant piece of chocolate caramel cake and ice cream after that appointment.
I'd hate to have to miss out on what I wanted to eat!
Yay for not dealing with gestational diabetes!! I managed to fail one of mine and have to do the three hour, but passed. Most boring morning ever.
That's what I thought was going to happen, since I know it's not uncommon. Also, I had this 1-hour in the late afternoon and the lab tech went out of her way to tell me that NOBODY passes in the afternoon. She was amazed that I apparently was the exception to the rule! I did try to eat carefully all day, though, to not hurt the test (i.e. - snacked on cheese in the afternoon).
While you say "no big deal" to it, I thought those rhogam shots were pure misery. Maybe my memory is off, but I thought it was just painful.
It's been a while. I can't believe how far along you are already!!
It was more awkward than anything for me. I don't remember having to get a shot in the backside for anything before. I'm much more used to shots in arms. Anyway, it did ache a bit for the ride home (had to sit on it!), but it was fine after that.
That Woody toy was too funny! I love it! It's hilarious how the universe seems to be pushing you to Disney World, too.
I loved that Woody! Gotta love those Disney signs!
Thanks! Dug was quite excited to see it.
I also have to get the Rhogam- it stings! And I failed my 3 hour, so GD for me.
Yeah, the Rhogam does sting a bit. That's too bad about the GD!
I hope it doesn't cause too much trouble and goes away right away!
We are headed to Duluth this weekend! My parents grew up in Two Harbors.
Enjoy these warm days- I hope it passes quickly!
I hope you had a good time in Duluth! That's cool that your parents grew up in Two Harbors. Such a nice, pretty area! I hope you've been doing okay on all these warm days too (although this weekend's been pretty nice)!
Just getting caught up. I know what you mean about Disney cravings. We call them Disney Flashes, because an image will flash in your mind briefly...but just long enough to make you REALLY want it. They usually happen to me on a day when I'm having a hard time at work. It's like my mind is telling me that it would rather be on vacation than dealing with junk from work. All of your Disney cravings were right up my alley!
I like the Disney Flashes! I agree, this tends to happen during rough times at work! Some other times too. I haven't even had one of these, but today I was craving one of the mint Mickey Ear Hat brownies I saw on the Disney Food Blog. Mmmmmm.....
What is your due date again?
September 7th. Only 2 months away!
I'm so glad all of your tests have turned out the way you'd hoped. Isn't that stuff you have to drink for the diabetes test so gross? I will never forget having to take that. I was at a walk in clinic on a Saturday morning, and it was packed full of people who all sat and watched me drink this stuff because they made me do it at the counter. They just sat a clock in front of me and told me I had to finish it in 5 minutes. Talk about peer pressue! I could hear everyone having a running commentary about how I was doing, and I was just trying to not gag on the stuff.
Not a fun experience for your GD test! Mine wasn't too terrible, but only because I found out about a lemon-lime flavor and requested it (and didn't have the same peer pressure you did!). I had to do an earlier 1-hour, due to the higher risk of having Type 2 diabetes in the family and I got the lemon-lime then. It wasn't bad, tasted like flat Sprite. Passed that test (maybe around 18 weeks, can't remember?). This time, they didn't have any lemon-lime and had an orange one waiting for me. This may have been a problem, as I don't like orange-flavored drinks at all (maybe this stemmed from a childhood incident where I drank lots of orange juice since I was sick and it all came back out when I got sicker!) I wanted to avoid that at all costs and, luckily, the nurse was able to go somewhere else within the clinic/hospital and obtain a lemon-lime for me. I actually had a pretty easy time drinking it this time, since I was pretty thirsty and it was somewhat thirst-quenching.
