Mr. and Mrs. Weak Sauce Go the Distance (a completed Disneymoon TR!)

Give Me a Title for Magical Express

I asked Howard to provide a title for this next installment, and he just YouTubed Magic School Bus, haha. So instead of sitting here trying to figure out what to title this, that'll be it! Haha, and now as he sits there as I type this, he keeps whispering, "I'm sorry ... I'm sorry." Silly guy.

When we finished eating our Chik-Fil-A lunch, it was time to head to Magical Express! Of course, that meant hopping back on the moving sidewalk. We passed by Build-A-Bear, and if we weren't on the sidewalk, I would've had the urge to peek in there. I'm just a big kid really. I love that store! I have a bear from there that Howard got for me for Christmas, and I have 3 Disney Duffy costumes to dress him up (along with other costumes from BAB).

79.jpg

I was a little nervous about getting lost in the airport. It's not that we wouldn't have been able to find our way EVENTUALLY, but I was determined not to get lost at all! I actually knew from one of MeMom's past TRs that she reminded Brooklynn that they'd always go on side B because of her name. That definitely stuck with me! Plus, we looked at the little map in the ME booklet earlier to find out where the food court was, so we were pretty sure about where to go.

81.jpg

We went one floor down and decided to use the restroom first. We took turns because we didn't want to bring all our luggage and such inside. It's pretty interesting how business people have to travel with all their stuff because they can't just leave things everywhere. I like that they had a bar to hang garment bags too. While Howard was waiting for me, he took two pictures of our little luggage (the carry-on; the regular size one looks exactly the same, just bigger) and my new tote. AND our Chik-Fil-A bag! Haha.

82.jpg

I like the one above, and Howard likes the one below. I couldn't decide which to post, so I just included both!

83.jpg

It was nice and empty in that baggage claim area so we didn't have to feel the rushing of tons of people around us.

84.jpg

We took the escalator one more floor down and immediately saw the sign for Magical Express! Of course, seeing that this was our first time in the airport (the one time I flew down with family, we went to like, Tampa or something and rented a car), I just HAD to take a picture next to it!

85.jpg

I had thought that it might be crowded because sometimes people wait a long time on lines, but there was like, no one there! I'm sure it was a bit more crowded than this right after we landed since a lot of people on our plane were surely headed to Disney. It was nice that we took the time to stop and eat so that we had an easy time here too. It was also where we had our first sighting of a CM with the Mickey gloves on!

86.jpg

So cute that they put the little circle stickers on the floor to make Mickey heads! Honestly though, I would've thought they'd use actual stickers or something so that the ears would be proportionate. Haha, I'm just being a stickler about the stickers.

87.jpg

ON OUR WAY!

88.jpg

The lady at the little podium was like, "Thanks! I was getting hungry" in reference to my Chik-Fil-A leftovers. Haha, she was adorable, and it definitely put a smile on our faces to encounter so many nice people already! We were directed to line 2.

89.jpg

Why? Because we were staying at ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE! My dear DIS friend, Joanna (not_Joanna_eggs), helped us out so much in selling us some of her DVC points! If we didn't do it that way, there would've been absolutely NO way that we could've stayed at AKL. It wouldn't have been practical at all due to the cost, but Joanna and her husband Chris definitely made our honeymoon extra magical!

90.jpg

Video: Magical Express at MCO

We were led onto a bus right away where people were already waiting, so I knew that that meant we'd be departing soon and we wouldn't have to hang around. I made this excited face that Howard captured on his camera, and he pointed out that the little girl sitting in the seat directly in front of me had JUST made the same exact expression! I couldn't help it! We were on our way! Together! And alone! And we got a good bus! I know that there are people who don't like certain buses, and I couldn't remember what they were until later on (the Mears buses?). Yay for getting a REAL ME bus!

Video: Getting Ready to Go on the Magical Express

I look at this picture and don't think at all that we look like we're old enough to be husband and wife. Haha. I'll be happy years down the road when we still look younger than we really are (just like Joni and John!).

92.jpg

There was a Disney Cruise Line bus next to ours. I hope that one day we'll do a cruise even if it's not one that goes to Castaway Cay. I mean, Lou Mongello and Jim Korkis told us that we should! Yes, I'm going to bring that up AGAIN because that was seriously one of the BEST moments in Disney ever! And yes, I'm going to link that update from our 2010 trip here so that those of you who didn't read it can read it now, haha. Anyway, the cruise that interests us is actually the Alaska one even though that means a much longer plane ride ...

93.jpg

Our bus driver's name was Waldemar. I wonder what it's like to drive the ME buses TO the resorts! You get to see pretty much everyone in a happy mood!

94.jpg

Video: Waldemar's Spiel (This is just Waldemar telling us the travel time and the order of the resorts; I was just camera happy apparently!)

I had a blast getting to watch the video! From what I remember, Howard closed his eyes for a bit, but I was just so eager to watch what everyone else has gotten to watch millions of times before! It didn't feel like a long ride at all because of the video. Pretty soon we were driving under these arches!

95.jpg

Video: Officially on Property

One of the stops was Pop Century. It was the first time I got to see it in real life.

96.jpg

When we were driving off that property, I saw and pointed out the teeny-tiny stop sign on the thingie that goes up and down (um, since I got married, I have been unable to remember simple words so instead of sitting here trying to figure out a better word for that thing, I'm just going to move on!). It was so cute! It was miniature!!!

97.jpg

I was still very camera happy so that's why I took a picture of us in the mirror too!

98.jpg

We drove by Art of Animation and gosh darn it, I want to stay there! I think the sign is just AWESOME, and it reminds me of crafting for some reason because of the colors and the font. We would have to stay at a value if we ever plan on staying on property again, and that's the one I would choose! Howard would absolutely love staying in the Cars section!

99.jpg

We soon arrived at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Oh my gosh, I was jumping out of my skin! I couldn't pay attention to the cartoon with Donald Duck that they were playing after the main video.

100.jpg

It's Jambo House, our home for the next week or so! I remember when I first tried picking a resort. Joanna had to explain the difference between Jambo and Kidani to me because I never felt the need to learn about the resorts beforehand. I'm glad we decided to stay in Jambo because it was breathtaking walking into that lobby every day. Of course, the one reason we would've liked staying at Kidani instead was the fact that it has Sanaa! The distance didn't stop us from eating there twice on our honeymoon though. Whoops, I'm getting ahead of myself!

102.jpg

We have officially-officially arrived now! Other than 3 other people, we were the only ones left on the bus, and I think we all got off and got our luggage. BREATHTAKING. That's all I'm going to say right now!

Weak Sauce Points

Round 7: Cropped

Round5-1.jpg

Where was this picture taken? Remember, only guess per person, and no editing posts! Good luck!

Round 8: Bonus Weak Sauce Points

When we were on our honeymoon, Howard and I ate at Sunshine Seasons twice. We ordered the same dishes that we love during each visit. For one weak sauce point, guess which dish I had to devour two times, and for another weak sauce point, guess what dish Howard had to devour two times! (Even if you guess the right dish, it must be matched up with the right person!)

Yay for your first Magical Express ride! I get soooo excited on that bus! I'm just like you (and all the little kids) grinning from ear to ear. The ride there is definitely better than the one from the resort though. :lmao: I'm glad that you didn't get lost, I do every time even though I take care to try to memorize the directions.

I'm going to guess Epcot for that one, I'm thinking Italy or France. I'll go with France for my final answer.

And for the bonus round, well I guess I should have read your previous TRs!! I'll just guess the sweet and sour chicken for you (because of the sauce) and pork chop for Howard (because people really, really seem to love it).

Can't wait to hear how you liked AKL, though it seems you were pretty happy there already!

Ooooooo! Oooooooo! I think I actually know this one! :rotfl: Is it the pre-show area to the Enchanted Tiki Room show?

I'm SO excited for you just reading this update! :goodvibes I've rented points three times (including this December's stay at OKW). I was nervous at first and extememly cautious, but have gotten such great deals because of it. It still requires a little leap of faith, though (unless you know the people, personally). I did a solo trip in 2010 to do the Wine and Dine half marathon and rented points to stay at Kidani. I LOVED it! There's just something so peaceful about coming back there in the evenings after a long day.

Ok, enough of my break :(. I do legal transcription work part time from home at nights and sometimes on weekends and I have the World's Longest Audio file and just wanted a break. Thanks for providing a little relief! :thumbsup2

Yay for the Magical Express! So now you finally know what everyone is always talking about. :goodvibes Just watching the videos made me want to be there right now. I love it!

I didn't realize you rented points from Joanna. That's awesome. :thumbsup2

I also guess the Enchanted Tiki Room for the picture.

Is the picture from the outside of the Enchanted Tiki Room? That's really all that's coming to mind!

I'm so glad you finally got to do Magical Express! It's such a fun experience and I feel like everyone should get to do it at least once! :goodvibes

I agree with the others that the picture is right outside the Tiki Room.

Our family jokes that Hobby Lobby is more 'lobby' and less 'hobby'. I don't find them having the craft selection that Jo-Anne's and Michael's have.

Already on page 13 thats what I get for moving and going on vaction. Can't wait to hear more.

Yay for finally arriving at AKL..how awesome that you were able to rent points and able to stay deluxe for your honeymoon!

I'm going to guess the photo is taken in the pre show area for the tiki room and for sunshine seasons i'm going to guess you had the chicken from the Asian section, and that Howard had the rotisserie chicken with rice dish.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

First, congratulations on your marriage! Your wedding pictures are beautiful! :goodvibes

Second, yes, SkyMall is amazing. It has the weirdest things in it. I am so intrigued by the Orbitwheels, they look deadly, like, I'm not even sure how that guy is standing up because I feel like he should be falling.

Yay for actual ME buses! Somehow they just seem more fun than the regular Mears buses.

Looking forward to more!

You made it!!! I cannot wait to hear all about your experience at AKL! We cannot wait to stay there one day!

Funny that you remembered the B side from B for Brooklynn.

I can sense your excitement as you arrived. No matter how much we go, we are always excited to see that ME video start and to go through the arches.

So glad you got to see Pop in person. Art of Animation is very nice. :thumbsup2

We loved our stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we visit there every trip. We definitely have plans to stay there again. ::yes::

I'm going to guess Enchanted Tiki Room too.

I'm glad you enjoyed your first Magical Express journey and that you didn't have a long line to wait in.

I saw the word Disneymoon and I just had to check out your TR. My husband and I went on ours last August and I'm obsessed with reading about other people's now. Your wedding was gorgeous and I loved the location! Some of your photos looked liked ones from a wedding planning magazine.

Yesterday I was watching How I Met your Mother and the gang was at a wedding and kid you not they had your chairs! I even rewound it and pulled up your picture and sure enough they were your chairs. So clearly you have Hollywood taste!

I agree with the pre show from the Tiki room. I just love AKL. It is just so unique. I only got to stay there one time, but would love to stay there again one day. Can't wait to read more about your trip.

Exactly! There was no way NOT to grin from ear to ear! The ride going there with the whole vacation ahead of us was just so exciting!

Thanks for guessing for both games!

Very much so! We LOVED Animal Kingdom Lodge! The resort itself felt like such a vacation as opposed to just a place to shower and sleep.

Ooooooo! Oooooooo! I think I actually know this one! :rotfl: Is it the pre-show area to the Enchanted Tiki Room show?

Ding ding ding! You got a weak sauce point!

Yeah, renting points requires a leap of faith, but thankfully, I "know" Joanna from DIS. There was just no way we could've done it without her!

Ooo, legal transcription? How'd you get into that? I could totally sit here and transcribe since I'm at the computer almost all day in the summer anyway!

Haha, yeah, now I can nod my head when I read other people's TRs about the bus ride!

Correct guess for the game!

Is the picture from the outside of the Enchanted Tiki Room? That's really all that's coming to mind!

I'm so glad you finally got to do Magical Express! It's such a fun experience and I feel like everyone should get to do it at least once! :goodvibes

Yup, you're right!

It was so easy just going to Magical Express instead of having to deal with renting a car. Big fan!

I agree with the others that the picture is right outside the Tiki Room.

Our family jokes that Hobby Lobby is more 'lobby' and less 'hobby'. I don't find them having the craft selection that Jo-Anne's and Michael's have.

Yup, it is the Tiki Room!

Ooo, if that's the case, I'm very happy I have the other craft stores!

Already on page 13 thats what I get for moving and going on vaction. Can't wait to hear more.

Haha, I have the links all posted in the first update if it helps you to catch up! Hope you had a great vacation and an easy move!

Yay for finally arriving at AKL..how awesome that you were able to rent points and able to stay deluxe for your honeymoon!

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Seriously, there was no way we'd be able to stay Deluxe! Especially not after spending so much money on our wedding!

Yup, the Tiki Room is correct! The food choices aren't right, but I give a hint down below if you want to guess again!

Round 5 Character Scramble is Edmund :)

Yup, it was Edmund!

Thank you! I absolutely love being married!

Haha, yeah, I felt the same way about Orbitwheels! This is the video I watched when I got home.

I would've been upset had we gotten a Mears bus especially after that delay!

You made it!!! I cannot wait to hear all about your experience at AKL! We cannot wait to stay there one day!

AKL was definitely a great place to stay! We loved how different it felt than any other random hotel off of I-95 from our drives, haha.

::yes::

Haha, it helped so much just knowing that we had to go to B! And I told Howard how I remembered it too. Even though he's not on DIS that often, he still knew who I was referring to when I said Brooklynn and MeMom!

I'm so happy that I got to experience staying on property for our Disneymoon. I never thought we'd be able to do so because of the cost, but our DIS friend Joanna really made it possible with those DVC points! It just made it extra special. I still think staying at Art of Animation would be fantastic though! This trip, we took it easy because we were recovering from the wedding, but in the future, staying at a value makes sense since we'll be on the go and in the parks!

I'm going to guess Enchanted Tiki Room too.

I'm glad you enjoyed your first Magical Express journey and that you didn't have a long line to wait in.

Yup, it's the Tiki Room!

At that point, I would've been really antsy had we had to wait for ME! We had already delayed it by eating, haha.

I saw the word Disneymoon and I just had to check out your TR. My husband and I went on ours last August and I'm obsessed with reading about other people's now. Your wedding was gorgeous and I loved the location! Some of your photos looked liked ones from a wedding planning magazine.

Haha, that's so funny because I actually started readings yours! I just didn't comment on it yet. I read your intro about how you and your DH are geeks, and I was like, OMG, that's so cool! Haha, my DH is a geek. I'm a nerd, so it's a little different, but still ... I love it when people proudly claim that they're one or the other and truly are!

Yesterday I was watching How I Met your Mother and the gang was at a wedding and kid you not they had your chairs! I even rewound it and pulled up your picture and sure enough they were your chairs. So clearly you have Hollywood taste!

HAHA, I would never think that I had Hollywood taste! I just really love those chairs!

I agree with the pre show from the Tiki room. I just love AKL. It is just so unique. I only got to stay there one time, but would love to stay there again one day. Can't wait to read more about your trip.

Yup, it's the pre-show! It really is such a unique resort. I loved being able to feel like I was in Disney even when we weren't actually in a park.

Weak Sauce Points Scoreboard

Round 7: Cropped was the PRE-SHOW of THE ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM - yay to NeverlandClub23!

IMG_0760.jpg

Round 8 is still up for grabs! As a hint, it was something that was very refreshing considering the grossly hot weather! If you guessed already, you may guess again!

shan23877 - 2
NeverlandClub23 - 1
therussells08 - 1
Curiouser&curiouser! - 1
jane2073 - 1
wdwgirl03 - 1
Happy Duck - 1

And since I don't have my next update ready (and I'm almost out the door on my way to church), I'll just post the next round.

Round 9: Cropped

Round6.jpg

Where was this picture taken? Remember, only guess per person, and no editing posts! Good luck!

Alas, Big Bang Theory is not on Netflix, which is where I watch my TV shows (that and Hulu if I'm caught up to date). Hopefully, they'll have it there soon!

I really like buffalo sauce stuff too because it works so well with bleu cheese (one of my favorite things, the moldier the better!). Unfortunately, I have something called Barrett's Esophagus along with acid reflux, so I'm supposed to stay away from spicy things.

Depending on who your tv service provider is, you can watch full episodes of Big Bang online through TBS

I LOVE LOVE LOVE blue cheese!! In fact, when you mentioned the salad at Outback, I thought I might have to go there sometime to get that!! I made burgers stuffed with blue cheese the other day and started nibbling on the cheese out of the container and had a hard time stopping

I totally remember which side of MCO to find magical express by MeMom's comment about B for Brooklynn too

How exciting you got to stay at AKL! We rented points once and stayed at OKW and if we don't get a great deal for our next vacation (free dining is too good to pass up!) I would definitely consider renting points again

OK, since you didn't say entrees, I'm going to guess desserts for your Sunshine Seasons dishes...I'll say the Key Lime Tart for you (my personal fave, and since I don't see any blue cheese on the menu :rotfl:) and the Strawberry Shortcake or whatever that is that everyone raves about for Howard

I'd say the picture is from Mexico, but I can't for the life of me narrow it down. :rotfl:
