Mr. and Mrs. Weak Sauce Go the Distance (a completed Disneymoon TR!)

Ok, with these hints I can play. :lmao: I worked at a video store during that time period. Is it Armageddon?

Yes, you are correct with Armageddon! That'll earn you 1 weak sauce point, woohoo! Now does anyone know the location of the photo if it has something to do with Armageddon?

Hmmmmm, Spaceship Earth?

Nope, but good guess!

Solo Pilot Blues

The title of this update isn't really related to what happened on our travel day. The song sung by Goofy is on the 4 Parks, 1 World CD, and I think it's so odd to be there among all the other park music, haha. Don't mind it!

We checked in and printed out new boarding passes. Howard handled all of that, so I'm glad I didn't have to worry about travel documents on top of everything else I had to take care of. Plus, I didn't want to dwell on the fact that we were going on a HAIR-PAIN! We then went to the line for our baggage to be checked, and we were actually told to go somewhere else to wait. It ended up being an awesome thing because the security checkpoint at the other end wasn't as crowded. I didn't like that there was a woman coughing behind us though. We kept moving up, and she'd inch her way even closer to us. I was so paranoid that we'd get sick! I put the luggage between us, but she was like, insistent on getting as close to us as possible! Haha, um, sorry lady, we don't mean to be grossed out by you, but seriously, step back please!

The security guy who looked at our boarding passes and IDs knew we were on our honeymoon. He said, "I can tell by the look on your faces, especially his face!" Haha, was it obvious that we were just thrilled? I guess most of the people around us leaving from Newark were business people.

When we put our luggage through the scanner, we actually had to put it back through again. I got nervous then as well thinking that there was something in there that shouldn't be there and that we'd have to throw it away (or that we'd be kept from going on our honeymoon ... melodramatic much?). But thankfully, everything was all set, and we popped our shoes on and determined that it was time to get some food! I was hungry and ready to eat especially since we were all checked in.

There were actually a lot of options, but we chose McDonald's. I don't remember the last time I had McD's, and I was definitely in a mood for it! I had a Sausage Egg McMuffin and a hashbrown. Recently, Howard and I bought a ton of English muffins, so I think it's about time I made my own McMuffins (well, minus the Mc) at home! We also have plenty of napkins at home since we only got 3 that morning, haha.

2.jpg

Sorry, I look a little drugged in this photo, haha, but I had to comment that it's my first McD's breakfast (well, first McD's entirely) married! This picture was taken BEFORE I fond an eggshell in my "sammich."

4.jpg

I think Howard had a McGriddle. I remember the first time I had one of those. I could tell it was a million calories, but gosh, it was delicious. Haha, I should make that myself too because pancakes can probably make good "sandwich bread" since waffles do according to Sleepy Hollow at MK!

3.jpg

Howard ordered an OJ, and I ordered hot tea just because I wanted something to help calm my stomach. We were sitting next to a restaurant that wasn't open yet, but I was highly entertained by the decorative sign at the front.

1.jpg

I was very entertained by the lid on my cup of tea. On Sundays, I used to get a cup of "naicha" before I became lactose intolerant (translated to milk tea" from the Chinese bakery near our church). I loved snapping the lip of the lid back into the top. I don't know why I'm so entertained by them, but I really am! The McD's one was like, one of the more awesome ones.

5.jpg

With our bellies full of greasy goodness, we got up to move towards our gate! Yay, it was almost time to go! No ... wait ... why do those little TVs with flight times indicate that our flight is DELAYED?!? Oh no!!! I tweeted:

Flight was delayed so instead of leaving at 7:54, we are hoping to leave at 9:45. Though it's an inconvenience, we'd much rather be safe!

I really would much rather be safe. It ended up that the pilot wasn't there yet. He was still in Washington, DC, so there was no way we'd be leaving any time soon. I was half okay with it because it was foggy out, and I was hoping it'd burn off as time passed, but I was also half un-okay (yes, I make up words, don't you?) with it because I just wanted to get on the plane and get it over with! The anticipation is sometimes worse! We sat at a gate across from ours because ours was filled to the brim with people. We thought we'd be able to go online, but there was a cost involved, so we nixed that idea. I sat and started writing some thoughts down about the wedding instead.

6.jpg

Oh airport, I'll be seeing you for a while!

7.jpg

This was actually the first time that I was on Howard's laptop. We both had netbooks, but apparently he traded it in to get a laptop instead. It was fun having a new "toy" to play with while waiting. Howard also had a new toy too. He bought a new lens for his DSLR, so he was taking a lot of pictures to test out settings and such.

8.jpg

He was admiring my cup of tea that I still had not finished.

9.jpg

I was probably tweeting at this point! Here are the other things I tweeted while we were waiting and trying to kill time.

10.jpg

Why did a guy just say there's a hurricane in PR that could affect the weather in Orl? Good thing Disney controls the weather.

Howard decided to go for a walk and snap some pictures. I decided to tweet some more because it was my only internet access.

11.jpg

One of my tweets was "NO DICE!" There was a mom with her parents and 2 kids who were wearing shirts that made me think, "Are they DISers?!?" Haha, I know it's easy to buy any of those shirts on Etsy or just make them yourself, but I know that's my immediate thought! Anyway, the mom was looking around for one of the plugs to charge her phone, but they were all being used. Later when someone left, I tapped her on the shoulder to tell her it was available. She also found a phone there and returned it to someone at the gate, and then the man came back and gratefully retrieved it when he found out the lady had handed it in. Of course, what I'm describing to you has nothing to do with the "No dice" thing, haha. That just happened to be her phrase. When things didn't work out (like the pilot not being there and the fact that we weren't leaving any time soon), she would say, "No dice!" Howard and I started using that at times during our honeymoon!

12.jpg

I was happy that at least there was a lot of space. I remember waiting in a super small airport in the past, and I was going crazy! It was nice that there were options for food too.

13.jpg

Are we still delayed? Yes, we are.

14.jpg

Is that our plane? Um, I don't know. Howard took it. Haha.

15.jpg

At one point, the mom was asking her kids if they wanted a smoothie. I thought that was funny because in my family growing up (and Howard's), we would never been asked that question because it would've meant spending money! Haha. And we wouldn't have even thought to ask either! I guess it's really different growing up in Chinese households. She also said something else that was funny. Her kids kept looking out the window at the plane, so she said, "I want to take a picture with my two mices ... my two meese."

16.jpg

Gotta love the moving sidewalks!

17.jpg

Still have time to wait.

18.jpg

We joked about this store because it looked so much like Duffy! We started calling this store "Duh-free" like Duffy, and then trying to figure out if it was "Doo-free." We apparently had a TON of time on our hands!

19.jpg

Wonder if this place really did have GR8 FOOD.

20.jpg

The place sure looked cute with the 50s diner vibe! I can imagine Guy Fieri coming here to say, "I'm rollin' up ..." Howard and I say that line rather often too because we're fans of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!

21.jpg

Once Howard returned, I went to the bathroom. I had to wait a bit because there were a lot of moms with their children, but only a few stalls were being used at the time. I tweeted when I got back:

I guess a lot of women need to poop in airports because there was quite a line!

22.jpg

HF and I are staring men down and wondering, "Are you the pilot?"

23.jpg

This would have been a good time to read through The Hunger Games or all of Harry Potter.

24.jpg

I love looking over to see a ring on my husband's finger! (his 3rd finger)

(continued in next post)

(continued from previous post)

Finally it was time to board the plane! We saw people on the other side lining up, and we waited a bit so as not to sit on the plane longer than necessary. It was kinda crazy because two planes boarded at the gate where we were sitting, and we were still waiting for ours. We had listened to the airport recordings many times, like the one that said that baggage left unattended will be "searched and damaged or destroyed." We gathered up all our belongings. That included my new tote bag from LL Bean! My mom bought it for my last birthday because I wanted a large sturdy tote. The HOWRAE is just perfect! HOWard and RAE for Rachel! We always say we're Team Howrae.

25.jpg

This was the start of the many pictures of my rings! Don't worry, they get better!

26.jpg

Loved our new luggage! We were using it for the first time on our Disneymoon. Beforehand, it was just hanging out in Howard's attic since we've had it for a while when we bought it on sale.

27.jpg

Goodbye airport!

28.jpg

At our gate.

29.jpg

It's probably too small to see, but at the gate, it said that we'd now be leaving at 10am. Okay, we can do that. We'll be there soon, right?

30.jpg

At least we were finally ON the plane!

Weak Sauce Points

Round 1: Cropped is still up and running! Take a look at what shan23877 said in her comment about the movie. Take a new guess as to the location of that ... PROP!

Round 2: Character Scrambler

The restaurant __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ / __ __ __ __ __ is set to close next January and won't be open again until late summer of 2013.

Clue #5 (3rd letter of 2nd word)
The __ __ __ __ / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ pepper is the world's hottest pepper and is grown in Living with the Land. It's even hotter than the habanero!

And the mystery character is ... __ __ __ __ __!

Oh boy, I don't like the sound of "atleast we were ON the plane." There have been times when we've boarded the plane and had to sit there for a while. I hope that didn't happen to you!

You guys took a lot of pictures at the airport...ever since our flight was cancelled one trip I refuse to take pictures at the airport! LOL.

OK, now my guesses for the games:
Is the picture from the Backlot tour? (I typed it in white). I sort of cheated though since I googled it and found a very similar picture. :rolleyes1

Is the character Flick?

Flick!

Your TR is so wonderful. You both look so happy together!

You are correct! You get a weak sauce point, woohoo!

Haha, yeah, we did have to wait a little longer! I just finished writing that update. I'm so glad that we arrived safely, but gosh, waiting that much was kinda making me more nervous.

Yup, a weak sauce point for you! It is Backlot Studios Tour! When I saw the props from Armageddon in the queue, I about flipped out! Haha. I know everyone else was looking at the POTC stuff on the other side, but I was obsessing with the Armageddon stuff. I totally <3ed that movie and still do. Haha, and it wasn't cheating at all. Google is our constant friend!

Weak Sauce Points Scoreboard

Round 1: Cropped was BACKLOT STUDIOS TOUR - yay to wdwgirl03!
The photo was taken in the queue for the Backlot Studios Tour. The prop is from the movie Armageddon, which was definitely one of my favorite movies when I was in high school! I cry EVERY time that I see it especially when Liv Tyler is talking to her dad, Bruce Willis, for the last time. When they show the little snippet of the men walking to the space shuttles in their orange suits at the end of The Great Movie Ride, I always get giddy!

Round 1: Cropped hint was ARMAGEDDON - yay to shan23877!
I know it's such a cheesy, unrealistic movie, but hey, I was 14 at the time and gosh darn it, Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck were rather fun to watch on screen!

Round 2: Character Scrambler was FLICK - yay to Happy Duck!
Clue #1: Track
Clue #2: Finding Nemo
Clue #3: Phineas and Ferb
Clue #4: California Grill
Clue #5: Bhut Jolokia

wdwgirl03 - 1
Happy Duck - 1
shan23877 - 1

Great update! You guys stayed a lot more calm and positive than I would have stuck in the airport all that time! It sounds like you have a rough start to the honeymoon overall, I hope that it gets better!!

Armageddon is one of my all time favorite movies! I just watched it again a few days ago :-) I didn't know they have props from it at HS -- cannot wait to go look when we are there in a few weeks!

Last summer our flight was delayed on the way down for several hours -- I didn't really think much of it (hazard of summer travel -- thunder storms etc.) I was just grateful my son was rolling with it without any problems (change in schedule/plans can sometimes cause us MAJOR issues) and out of the blue they announced everyone was getting a 100 dollar SW voucher for the inconvenience! Very cool surprise, and I have to say worth the wait!

Anyway -- here is hoping that the rest of the journey down was smooth, the honeymoon was fabulous and that you are continuing to enjoy each others company everyday :-) I do so love a nice love story!

All caught up!

Yay! You're plane arrived! :goodvibes

I want to get in on this game! Can't wait to play along & read more!

Hi, I have read all your trip reports, and this one is the best so far! (They have all been great). I just love your writing style and way of describing things. Congrats on your wedding!!!

That's too bad that you're flight was delayed...not a great start to any vacation, but thankfully they got it resolved soon.

Ewww about the eggshell in the sandwich...not the most appetizing concept.

I love your new luggage, and I think it's awesome that you waited till your disneymoon to start using it.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Your upate amusing yourself at the airport cracked me up. It is so annoying when that happens. We recently received an e-mail that they changed our flight home for our October trip. We now leave at 1pm instead of 5pm. I am not happay. That is 4 hours of Disney time I am losing.

Looking forward to more and can't wait till you get there!

I was probably not THAT positive; I know I was feeling a little impatient. But as a whole, I was taking it pretty easily mainly because I was going, "If I were at work right now, where would I be?" and I really was enjoying waiting for a plane to Disney instead of teaching at that moment! Haha.

When you go line up for the Backlot Tour, stay on the right side because that's where those props are! If I had known, I would've waited there longer just to get a close-up look, haha. It was that amazing to me!

Ooo, I wouldn't have minded some sort of voucher for the inconvenience of waiting! Haha, I would have even accepted like, a snack on the plane or something! That must've been such good news to hear despite the delays.

Thanks! Yup, we are still enjoy each other's company. I got so excited when I found out that he was home for the 4th of July! Haha, I'm just silly in not realizing that most people have off. I've always ended work in June due to being a teacher, so it's so fun having my guy home in the middle of the week!

All caught up!

Yay! You're plane arrived! :goodvibes

I want to get in on this game! Can't wait to play along & read more!

Actually our plane was just sitting there the whole time, I think, haha. It was just the pilot that was stuck elsewhere! I'm so glad they didn't have us wait ON the plane. I would've gone a little insane in such a confined space. Plus, I liked having the option of going to the bathroom whenever I needed to. Not that you can't use the airplane bathroom, but I try to avoid those little cramped spaces as much as possible!

I'll hopefully post a round of the game with every update if not more than that!

Hi, I have read all your trip reports, and this one is the best so far! (They have all been great). I just love your writing style and way of describing things. Congrats on your wedding!!!

Oh wow, so glad you're here! Haha, I always wonder if I have people reading my TRs just for funsies because I know I read the TRs written by a lot of other DISers without commenting. Happy you popped in and hope you continue to enjoy this one!

That's too bad that you're flight was delayed...not a great start to any vacation, but thankfully they got it resolved soon.

Yeah, I was thinking that out of all times for us to be delayed, it had to be during our honeymoon! Haha, I guess we were happy so it was easier to deal with anyway! Just wish we had known just how long it was going to be in total so that we could've bought more food for the plane.

Eggshells in food are like, the one thing I absolutely hate when eating! I can find a bone or shrimp peel or anything else in my food, but the eggshells just put a damper on my meal!

Thanks! Later on, we have a better picture of our actual luggage. I love it because it has Mickey on it!

Your upate amusing yourself at the airport cracked me up. It is so annoying when that happens. We recently received an e-mail that they changed our flight home for our October trip. We now leave at 1pm instead of 5pm. I am not happay. That is 4 hours of Disney time I am losing.

Thankfully, I like my husband, haha, so I had very good company with me! We also got an email with our flight time change, but I think it was made earlier too. I guess it didn't affect us much because we weren't intending on going to the park that day anyway, AND I thought I was going to be going to work the day after we returned so I was kinda okay with it. It stinks that you ahve to lose Disney time!

To Keep or Not to Keep: SkyMall Magazine

We found our seats in an almost full plane since we waited so long to board. There was a guy sitting at the window, and we had the 2 seats next to him. I sat in the middle so that I could have a better view out the window and because I think it's less awkward on everyone not to put the 2 guys next to each other. Haha, I don't know if that's just me.

31.jpg

The only issue was that we were still being delayed! The sign outside said we were supposed to leave at 10am, but that actually didn't happen. I forgot when we left exactly because I fell asleep waiting. I do remember feeling the plane move when we were getting ready to take off, but I purposely kept my eyes closed and kind of just slept off and on during that whole process so that I didn't have to be nervous. It was close to 10:45 or so, so we had close to a 3-hour delay. I was wondering if that would affect our plans for the day because we had wanted to go to a park.

33.jpg

When I finally woke up because I just couldn't sleep anymore (why oh why didn't I realize that you could bend the headrests so that my head didn't have to keep flopping down?!?), I decided it was time to enjoy the one good thing about airplanes! Okay, the second good thing because getting to Florida in a few hours as opposed to driving is a huge benefit. But anyway, the greatest thing is SkyMall! Seriously, that thing is just awesome! I love flipping through it to see the most awkward and sometimes strangely innovative products that they offer.

34.jpg

I actually had to flip through Howard's because my pocket didn't have one (or so I thought; it was just like, buried deep inside as I learned later on!). It entertained me for quite some time, which I was happy about because I needed a good distraction, and I wasn't in the mood to take something out to read-read. Orbitwheels? Did someone decide that rollerskates and rollerblades just weren't good enough? I had to have Howard take a picture of it so that I could look it up on YouTube once I got home!

36.jpg

Then I saw a page full of condiments and such. I was intrigued by something called Protein Ketchup. It sounds so nasty, but I think the idea is genius! I know I don't get nearly enough protein as I should be having each day because I'm not that big on meat and such. But I do tend to use a lot of ketchup for potato goodness and scrambled eggs (yes, I'm one of those people), so adding 15 grams of protein to a packet of ketchup

37.jpg

The ... haha, flight attendants (I was about to type CMs) brought around the tray to offer drinks and those snack trays that you can buy. Um, why are those things so crazy expensive? Why can't I get a bag of snacks just for funsies? Darn it, we should've flown JetBlue for terra blue chips! Anyway, just a little vent there because we were actually really hungry! We should've been in Florida already eating lunch at that time. At least I could have a drink, and that meant I could have tomato juice! It's just a thing that I have on airplanes. My mom used to always get tomato juice, and I associated it with flying! It just works well for me too because soda would give me a stomachache, so this is quite yum yum! I know some people are grossed out by it, but it just works!

38.jpg

Howard had a Coke. Yum, caffeine! If you've read past TRs, you know that Howard is really good at keeping me away from caffeine since I get pretty bad heart palpitations from it. I do miss Coke once in a while though, and I'll sometimes sneak a sip or two!

39.jpg

It was time to get back to SkyMall! When you read the title of this update, were you expecting to see so much about SkyMall? Haha. We took this picture for our friend from church who just graduated law school. He's actually the one who recommended our photographers, Dreamlite Photography. I used to play Lexulous with him on Facebook all the time, and I did my best to beat him. It didn't happen very often because he was so smart, but that's how you learn! Anyway, I don't know if law students and lawyers really would think a board game called "Passing the Bar" would be the "perfect gift"! I think they'd much rather prefer Orbitwheels or something.

40.jpg

Haha, this seemed like a gift for me. It's an "Arts and Crafts Screen." Why is it specifically an arts and crafts screen? I was very entertained by it because they didn't just call it a screen.

41.jpg

I found THIS gift for my younger brother! Haha, it's a Bigfoot, the Garden Yeti Statue! For some reason, Matt loves watching all those shows like,
"Finding Bigfoot" on Animal Planet and such. I don't know why he's so interested in them, but I'll go downstairs, and there he is watching another episode! It's happened on 3 occasions, and I would think that after seeing 1 episode, that'd be it. Apparently not! This'll be for his backyard when he finally gets married. I apologize in advance to his future wife when they open this up on their wedding day.

43.jpg

Whoops. Haha, I think I took this one. But that wouldn't be new because I take a ton of these nothing photos.

44.jpg

And here's the two of us! We are ready to get moving, but we still had a little bit of time left in our flight.

45.jpg

But should I take a copy of SkyMall? The one that was in the pocket in front of the guy next to me was like, RIGHT THERE. I should totally have taken it! Haha, just kidding.

35.jpg

They apparently started playing a TV show on the monitors. I think it was Big Bang Theory based on what Howard said. We couldn't hear anything, so it wasn't something I could watch. If they played Friends or something, I could have watched it without sound.

46.jpg

This photo makes me nervous!

47.jpg

Finally it was time to land! It was doing a lot of major dropping when we were landing, and my stomach was like, "OY!" I actually asked the guy next to me to open the shade for the window because he had closed it before when we were all sleeping.

48.jpg

When we landed, I was THRILLED! It was also time to stop squeezing Howard's hand so hard because I'm so used to holding someone's hand when flying (when I was little, I used to sit next to my dad). PHEW, first flight - done! Even though we had the delay and we were starving, I was very thankful to have arrived safely. I called my dad to let him know, and then we were ready to experience another new thing - MCO!

Oh, and no, I didn't actually keep the issue of SkyMall, haha.

Round 3: Cropped

Round3.jpg

Where was this picture taken? Remember, only guess per person, and no editing posts! Good luck!

Hmmmm...Toy Story Mania? (I'm really bad at guessing games :upsidedow)

I think it's funny what you said earlier about the smoothie thing. I would NEVER expect to get anything when we were out anywhere when I was a kid (and was never asked what I preferred or wanted on the off chance anything was ever purchased :) ). Heck, when my Mom made us our lunches, she would take twin wrapped Little Debbie cakes and separate them so my brother and I both had one. It's funny now, like when we go to WDW or Busch Gardens and I buy a treat and I'm so excited that it's all mine and I don't have to share :lmao:.

I hate flying! I've flown so much (I dated someone for two years long distance and flew almost every weekend. Yuck.) and have always hated it. I'm not afraid of anything, I just hate having zero control over my luggage, eating/drinking, and when I'm able to get anywhere (worst ever: I was stuck in a layover at the Boston airport for 12 hours and couldn't go anywhere because my flight kept getting delayed for just an hour at a time and you had to go out through security to get to the food areas). I tried to convince my fiance to take the Amtrak down to Florida (because we drove last year [well my parents did, we just rode] and he said it was so long and boring), but he's all about the fastest way to get anywhere.

I think that is outside Muppet Vission 3D. It is that 'sculpture face thing made up of stuff.' Hee hee! That is the best way I can describe it! :rotfl:

I LOVE the Bigfoot garden sculpture!! My daughter and I love all sorts of weird things like that. Last spring break, we took a road trip to Miami and stopped at the Bigfoot research center. Yes, it does exist! I have pictures on Facebook to prove it! :)

Sorry, I look a little drugged in this photo, haha, but I had to comment that it's my first McD's breakfast (well, first McD's entirely) married! This picture was taken BEFORE I fond an eggshell in my "sammich."

I think Howard had a McGriddle. I remember the first time I had one of those. I could tell it was a million calories, but gosh, it was delicious. Haha, I should make that myself too because pancakes can probably make good "sandwich bread" since waffles do according to Sleepy Hollow at MK!

Howard ordered an OJ, and I ordered hot tea just because I wanted something to help calm my stomach. We were sitting next to a restaurant that wasn't open yet, but I was highly entertained by the decorative sign at the front.

I have that same shirt! I plan on bringing it for our Disneymoon in August! I think it's boring sitting in the airport.

Tough one...I have no idea...a sculpture for Laugh Floor Comedy Club? :confused3

I do not like flying, neither does DH...so we drive.

Skymall looks very entertaining though...especially the Bigfoot statue. :lmao:

You made it to Florida, Yay! :cool1:

Dang it! I don't know what the picture was and I was too late for the character scramble, though I DID figure it out and it was fun!! I might have to start doing games on my PTR/TR to encourage more posts. I like to pretend that hundreds are reading and just not posting :thumbsup2

I HATE flight delays, it drives me insane!

I also always wonder if certain people are on DIS when I see them in airports. I never go ask them because I don't want them to feel like I am stalking them!

Glad you made it to MCO in once piece!

My guess is Muppetvision? The blue fuzzy thing is throwing me off.:lmao:

I love SkyMall! It's so fun to look at all the silly kitschy things in there, and I almost always find something that my little brother would love!

Sounds like you arrived safely, interested to see if you found the ME with no hassles-I always get lost. :rotfl:
