Will This PTR Be A Jinx? A 2nd bday "do-over" trip. Dec '12 *Update 12/7*

Hi all! Here I am again to do another PTR because I just can't help myself from talking to complete strangers that are fellow Disney lovers about our upcoming trip plans. I'm driving my DH and other friends crazy I think so I need an outlet

So why did I title this thread this way? Well, those of you that followed my last PTR and TR know what happened but for those of you that didn't I'll enlighten you. DH and I took our DS (then 14mo) to WDW for his first time (our 100th seems like) in February of this year. No amount of planning could have prepared us for what happened. DS got a stomach virus on our first park day. He started off the day with throwing up three times in the food court at POFQ while eating breakfast. Then throwing up in the car on the way to MGM etc etc. It was miserable and I was so worried about him. He was pretty good most of the day for a sick 14 mo. But it was still miserable. We spent the next 2 or 3 days trying to decide whether we were going to stay or leave for his sake. We finally decided to stay because he seemed to be on the mend and we had a great day at EPCOT. Well, the great day turned into a nightmare when DH woke me up in the middle of the night having issues. I called the paramedics and while we waited on them I was dizzy and trying not to pass out and throwing up myself. Paramedics arrived and checked DH out. They decided to take him to the ER. I stayed behind with DS and threw up some more with a 103* temp. My BFF Becca came and stayed with me until DH got back from the hospital. Needless to say we went home the next day, ending our trip 3 days early. So, I'm sort of afraid that this PTR will be a jinx but I'm just so used to doing PTR's for my trips and I really love talking out all the planning with everyone here so I couldn't resist. I'm just PRAYING this doesn't happen again and that this PTR won't turn into another disastrous TR. This trip will also be to celebrate DS's 2nd birthday since we will be in the World on his actual birthday. I'm super excited about it! The last time we were at the world in December was '09, just 3 short months before I got pregnant with DS. I can't wait to go back. Disney knows how to do Christmas right!

The Cast:

First up, there's ME! The captain of this boat. My name is Carla. I'm a 30 year old FTM that works part time for her Dad and loves the way life is right now. I love to quilt and sew, spend time with friends and talk about Disney any and every moment I can.

Fav Character: Stitch!

Then there's my DH. He's along for the ride but LOVES all things Disney! I honestly can't believe he agreed to another trip so soon after our last nightmare but he's a trooper and too big of a Disney nut not to agree to go. I'm one lucky girl. Anyways, he's 31 and is a wonderful Daddy to his little mini me! He loves video games and guns and all things manly along with Disney haha! Not really a common mix but it's who he is. He won't talk about Disney 24/7 like me though. He tires of it rather quickly which is why I need this PTR! His name is Chris.

Favorite Character: Robin Hood (the cartoon version)

And last but not least: THE BIRTHDAY BOY ALEX!!!! This little guy is our miracle and pride and joy. He's currently 18mo but will be turning 2 on the 17th on our trip. Our little Christmas baby!

Since I already booked our room (and boy am I glad I did because people on the AoA thread are saying the LM rooms are booking up FAST) I decided it was safe to start buying us some new Disney shirts for the trip. Not that we really need them but you know.....you gotta have new shirts for each trip!

Anyways, here's what I got

I found this cute Monsters Inc one for Alex at Old Navy

I had to get this Jake one for him at the Disney Store since he is a nut for that show

And of course a Mickey one

A cute one for me (please excuse the toy mess)

And an old skool Mickey shirt for DH

That's it so far. We've recently won a photo contest through a custom embroidery place I use so I have a $25 credit with her so I plan on getting a Mickey shirt for Alex that says "I'm Two" with the "o" being a Mickey head with that credit. Woo!!! That's about it for the purchases so far. I'm looking to get Alex a cute new Mickey suit case or something Disney (doesn't have to be Mickey) of his own but so far I haven't found anything. I don't like the ones shaped like McQueen and I feel they are too small. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can look?

I love the Monster's Inc shirt, I never thought about going to Old Navy for a Disney shirt. DS is really in to Mickey and Jake right now too. I hadn't seen that Jake tee, I'll have to check on Disney Store's website.

Oh my goodness, is it the one from Stitcheroos?! We are getting that one for Paxton too!! She posted the girl version on Facebook one morning and I think I commented about 2 seconds later to ask if she was doing a boy version. I don't usually pay attention to the photo contest, but I just went to see Alex's picture! Guess I missed it before. Very cute! How awesome that you won!! Haha you can never have too many Disney shirts!!! Don't want to wear the same shirts on each trip and have the same shirts on in different years pictures. That's just not right and it gets confusing too when you look at the pics That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it!

Aww well thank you for reading my TR! We did have some good times but getting sick there in the middle of everything really stunk.

Thank you! I see them all the time on their web site (I am a web shopper ) So I had to go see it in the store. Definitely check ON out from time to time for them. They're always getting new ones and it's not just Cars which I'm happy about because I'm sick of Cars. Jake is great! I hadn't seen that shirt yet so I think it came out with the new stuff they just rolled out. Definitely need it for your DS if he loves Jake too. They also have a Jake Halloween costume out already that I've already committed to getting for Alex .

haha YES!! That's so great that you are getting it for Paxton's birthday too. They will both look absolutely adorable in them. What size are you going to get for Paxton? I saw she has 24mo and 3T but no 2T. I was thinking of getting the 3T so Alex can wear it all next year. Plus I'm afraid if I get the 24mo it will be too small come December and that would just stink! I agree that her other Mickey designs are all kind of meh so I wasn't loving them either. I was going to see about getting her to design something for me with Jake on it and I still may but I'm definitely getting the I'm two shirt.
