We are booked for this cruise!
We plan to do 1 week at WDW before the cruise. We have only been on 1 cruise so far. We cruised the Mexican Riviera on Dec. 4, 2011 on the Wonder and had a blast! We took our 6 kids ages 4-22.
For this cruise it will just be the younger set: Our daughter will be 17, son 15, son 13, and daughter 6. They don't know about this yet as it is such a long way out. They will be so excited to cruise on the Dream with the Aqua Duck and the bigger and better kids clubs.
We are booked in connecting rooms 5542 and 5544. These are 4E and have the oversized/doubledeep verandahs. We think we'll love the convenience of deck 5 to all the kids clubs.

Anyone joining us?

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :cool1:

Have a great cruise!

Anyone joining us? :rolleyes1

We switched our staterooms to 5650 and 5652:cool1:. After seeing the pictures of the verandahs for 5650 and 5150 we decided to switch. And now we are even closer to the kids clubs and Cabanas for convenience!

Our last cruise(which was also our first cruise) we booked two rooms under the GTY status. I think it was for a 9A or better. Well, surprisingly they upgraded one of our rooms to a 4A and kept the other one in 9A. My husband and I enjoyed the larger room on deck 8 with our two girls, but it was very inconvenient having our 4 sons on deck 5.

I know Disney can still upgrade, but I think it's unlikely. If they do I hope they'll keep our 2 rooms close. It's way too early for a countdown, I guess, but I am curious.....lets see.....I'll figure it in weeks.

O.k. we have approximately: 78 weeks!

I hope someone else books and joins this meet soon!
Shanna:santa:

Yay!! Count us in !! First cruise ever for us!!:banana: I am so excited...it is very long to wait thought! We will be doing WDW after the cruise (DH's request!) :goodvibes

Hey peeps,
We're currently toying with adding this pre-WDW - anyone know what we can expect from the weather?
The last, and only time we cruised was a 3 nighter, just over a month earlier and it was mega-hot, but I think temperatures were surprisingly high as I recall...

Hi!! I have no clue about December weather as we have only been in Oct and Sept, but we are also doing this cruise before WDW too! Excited to see someone else on this cruise!:thumbsup2

We're in!

Decided to go for it :)

We won't be booking our flights until January, so we'll see how we're doing savings wise then as to whether to we definitely keep the booking, but all being well this will be our second Disney cruise! :woohoo:

We're planning to stay 1 night in Pop or All Stars pre-cruise, then post cruise we're staying with friends who own DVC at BLT for 7 nights and AKV for 5, with a 3 night jaunt to one of the Universal hotels in the middle - our longest stay in Florida yet! Can't wait to start getting more of it booked!

My whole family is booked on this cruise!! Two grown DD's with their husbands and children who will be 9, 6, 5, 3 and 1 1/2, my sons in law, husband and my DS who will be 12. So excited!!!! We're on Deck 6, hubby and I and the two oldest kids are in a verandah room and the others are in oceanview.

FYI anyone planning to do WDW BEFORE the cruise, that's the weekend that they will be taping the Christmas parade in the Magic Kingdom on the Saturday, and it will be chaotic. For this reason, we're doing WDW AFTER the cruise, which isn't ideal, but we'll make it work.

Ah, we were thinking the parade taping would be after the cruise, is it definitely going to be before?

You know what....now I'm not so sure. I think it might be the Saturday AFTER the cruise. Sorry for the confusion, I'll try and find out for sure.

Many apologies!! Just checked with another agent and she says historically it has always been the first Sat. in December which is the 7th. I don't know why I was thinking the Sat. before would be the first of the month. Sorry! Need more coffee! :coffee:

No worries, just wanted to check as our WDW travel companions had thought we could try and see it when we got there (post-cruise) - unlike you trying to deliberately avoid it, we thought we might give it a whirl! :lmao:

You're a brave soul!

Yikes!! We are planning to go to WDW after the cruise as well. Is it just that day at MK that is crazy? Or leading up to it as well?? Do you think it would be fine to just go to another park that day? If the whole timeframe is busy at MK (the days leading up to it as well) we might look at changing our cruise date. I didn't want to do WDW before the cruise as I think it's Thanksgiving???

I think early December is quiet otherwise.
And I think Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November.
(A lot of "I thinks" there!!)

Oh yeah, there's that too. Thanksgiving will be on the 28th? So possibly the Thanksgiving crowd might still be there. Hmmm....which is the better option? :confused3

Not sure what is the better option...maybe switching the dates altogether!!:rotfl: I don't want to though, DH was already fed up with me trying to pick a date for the cruise!!:goodvibes
