I know there are alot of Weight Loss threads  and I love them all! But this is a thread for those who need accountablity like myself:teacher:. So I will log on everyday ( or try ) and log my food/calories :mickeybar and what excercise:maleficen I was able to accomplish.

So before I even start I am Lisa I weight about 190 (lbs not grams :confused3) my goal is to be at 145 lbs by Sept 2013. So if you want to join me or even just comment on what i shouldn't of ate feel free! :scared:

And I will keep posting.

As I said I am going to use this thread to keep account of my calories and yesterday there was a little too much to count

For breakfast I was good I had a big bottle of water, apple slices, cheese cubes, and some grapes. Total calories for breakfast was 305. I thought was doing great ... Then it was lunch time my down fall cause this is where my boss bought our lunch (SCORE) :confused3 Yea then I over ordered and of course would have felt bad had I wasted my food. Total from my Applebee's lunch was 1022 calories .... :sad2:

For dinner I wasnt hungry (who would be after a 1022 calorie lunch) I had a Special K Meal Bar (they are actually really good) and a Sprite ( i am trying not to have any soda at all but sometimes water just ain't enought) for dessert cause it was there I had a small cake cone with just a little bit of ice cream totaling my at 481

For my entire day I had 1808 calories on on a 1700 calorie diet .... That was yesterday (go figure I would fail on Monday) so its all up hill form here.

And no I didnt excercise unless you call working all day excercise (mostly sit I am a receptionist at a chevy dealership)

:confused3So for lunch I was okay not great but seeing as I missed breakfast I thought I could induldge ( but I shouldnt have) one of the sales men bought me lunch  BUT I ate too much I had 1/2club and salad from O'Charley's included my rolls (omg they are heaven) and tea my calorie count so far for today is 1412 which means I only have 288 calories left for today that I can have. So its water to drink for the rest of the day and a bowl of cheerios and skim milk for dinner. :confused3

I need some magic to keep this up and itso nly day 2 :sad2:

I think the hardest thing when losing weight is that we forget the small stuff. I have said Oh, I didn't eat much today but when I start adding it up in my head, well, I think you know what I mean.

I somehow managed to gain 15 lbs since last September. I would like to get rid of it so my clothes fit me. I think I do fairly well having had 3 kids and being over 40. (not by much though) I need to do better so I don't end up older and having to lose a lot of weight like my mom. My thyroid may have been a contributing factor as it has been off the past year but I doubt that is the whole cause.

Evenings are the worst for me. I tend to eat a bit of everything after everyone is in bed, then nobody sees what I eat. I also get lazy at lunch sometimes. I try to take my lunch to work but some days, I am to lazy to make it and then end up buying fast food. Today I brought my lunch, vanilla yogurt with blueberries and raspberries and a bit of granola but still went to McDonalds. My son ate my lunch when I got home.

I also need to get off my butt and actually do something as, like yourself, I sit at a desk all day at work. I work in a law office.

I will have to start tracking what I eat and post along with you. My problem is that I don't know how many calories are in things. For supper tonight I had a very small trout one of my kids caught (we had 7 of them) with some pasta salad and green and yellow beans. I have no idea how many calories would be in it. I was bad and used margarine for the fish. I usually use spray for my pan but what is fresh trout without being fried in butter?!?! I also had butter on my beans.

Oh yeah, I'm Tammie and I currently weigh 150 lbs, hoping to get to 130 or 135.
Good luck.

OP, I'm curious as to how you set your number of calorie intake per day? 1700 seems high to me for weight loss? That seems like a number for maintenance? May I suggest getting Dr Phil's Ultimate weight loss solution book? You don't have to be a fan of Dr Phil, its science based as to how your body works and responds to food, the book has been a great help to me! He also has a calorie counting book, lists all foods and there values! Do you only count calories? You should consider also counting protein, carbs, fat, saturated fat, fiber, sugar, sodium! Keep a food journal! Its more powerful when it's in writing. I'm losing weight and I'm on a 1200 cal diet, with no more than:
Protein - 75-100gr
Carbs - 100-135 gr (not less than 100)
Fat - 40 gr or less
Saturated fat 13 or less
Fiber 25 gr shoot high helps you lose!
Sugar just don't add
Sodium 2400mg less is better you would be surprised what lowering sodium will do for you! And its in everything!

Dr Phil states that if it takes time to prepare and takes time to chew, its most likely good for you, if it's processed and comes out of as box and is quick to prepare and doesn't require much chewing (great example macaroni and cheese, can be swolled without chewing) then it's not good for your body!

Also you need to exercise! And it needs to include weight lifting (burns a lot of fat) I go mon, wed, fri and do cardio first and then weight lift all muscle groups, then Tue, Thur. I just do cardio, gives muscle time to repair.

Hope some of this info helps! Good luck

Thanks for advice. I choose 1700 so I can decrease it over time. I know I need to exercise but working 10 hrs a day and then going home to a family and tending to them is my exercise till I get a more balance schedule. I am starting out slow as to make a live change not just a diet to lose weight for time moment. I know its still a lot but in the past if I decrease to fast I have failed. I appreciate the advise.

So last night I had my Cheerios and taught a quick dance class to some friends. So I finished my day at 1688 calories. And today for breakfast I had a Special K protein bar with 170 Calories and 2 glasses of water.

That's backwards though. You should be eating fewer calories now so you can increase them when you add in exercise.

Don't get discouraged. If you were eating well above 1700 calories before, you will lose weight now. If stepping down in increments helps, go for it, but don't let the slower results discourage you either. That is the most important thing. I like to see results because it makes me feel like what I am doing is making a difference. But keep in mind at some point, without exercise, you will have to drop those calories off. Getting to eat more is a good incentive for adding in the exercise ASAP. :rotfl:

How far is it to work from home? Have you considered cycling to work?
I'm fortunate that my place work allows me to exercise when ever I please during the day, so long as my tasks are upto date.

Good effort so far, keep the faith

This is what I was thinking too. Losing weight is different for everyone and it is a lot of trial and error. You may find that you will lose for a few weeks eating 1700 calories, and then you might plateau and realize you need to drop it down to 1600 or add in some exercise. As time passes you will learn your body and what it reacts to and what it doesn't and you will be able to adjust things. You gave yourself plenty of time to achieve this goal, so you have time to learn what works for you and what doesn't.

Just starting this thread and holding yourself accountable is a huge step in the right direction. :thumbsup2

Good Luck! pixiedust:

my biggest suggestion would be to eat a bunch of small meals (4/5 300-350 calorie meals). It will help you not overindulge at lunch time. It will also keep your metabolism burning more efficiently.

Also try to bring food to work and not order out. This will save tons of calories:upsidedow

So for lunch I had a Subway Sandwhich and total Calories from lunch were 570 .... So total today I have had 740 and for dinner I am going to try a Advocare meal replacement shake and boiled nuts for protein

It is about 30 miles away, I am however getting more active at work I am running errands for sales more and anytime the cashier needs to go up stairs I am running it for her instead and all the guys are having fun yelling at me to run for them ... :crazy2:

Today didn't go so well for me. It was "treat day" at work. Need I say more? :confused3 Treats were yummy though and I did have fresh fruit and veggies with my treats.

I had my regular fruit, yogurt and granola for lunch and a bit of ham and pasta salad for supper. Not a great supper but it was baseball night for 2 of my kids and I had to eat on the run. I had less than half an hour between getting home from work, eating, getting changed and being back out the door to get them to ball. Didn't get home until after 9. I have no idea how people have their kids in different sports all year long. I'm glad I only do it in the summer.

And money.... That you can put towards your trip! :thumbsup2

Hey all!

I think this is an awesome idea! Having accountability on a weight loss program can really help!

I just want to share the experience that my husband and I had. We completed AdvoCare's 24 Day Challenge two months ago and haven't looked back! I lost 8 pounds and about 5% body fat (down to the size I want to be! :woohoo:) and my husband lost 21 pounds!! We've kept it off and feel amazing! We also enjoy life (have pizza once a week, ice cream, out to dinner) in moderation. A good rule of thumb is to think 80/20 (eat well 80% of the time and allow yourself a few cheat meals). This program worked so well for us and really jump-started our weight loss!

If you have ANY questions, feel free to send me a message! Good luck everyone on your weight loss journeys!

:goodvibes Thanks for all the advice everyone. Today I feel pretty good. Yesterday I stayed under 1000 calories. I was really hungry about 830 last night but I just decided it wasnt real hunger and just went to bed. Work up had a nice Fruit and Cheese breakfast (only 180 cals) and then I prepped for work. I was proud of myself and for lunch I had apples, granola, and cheese cubes (I like cheese) 170 calories (they are health snack packs a co worker uses shes a wicked health nut)

Tonight I am grilling steaks, corn and baked potatoes. So I am excited to say I will be able to actually eat the steak and corn. But I don't know about the baked potatoe? Can I have Sour Cream on it? :confused3
