Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

Ugh, that woman sounds like she had a real attitude! I cannot stand people like that. I have never encountered anyone like that in Disney- all of the CMs seem so happy to be there! At least you seem like you had a nice day overall!

Can't wait to hear about Celebration! That is on the list of places I want to try outside of WDW, but I don't know much about it!:)

Oh wow, she surely woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Who would ever think you could use your Lego card at Legoland??? The horror. I'd file a complaint about her rudeness. I had to laugh about you mentioning Disney loudly! Ha!!

The apple fries look yummy!

I'm torn on LC myself. Lately I have read some pretty bad reviews of it. Slow service, poor service, steaks not cooked right, etc. All the stuff we experienced our last time there (about 3 years ago). But prior to that we had excellent experiences there. So I don't know what to tell you on that one.....I am still going to try to get a lunch ADR there (only because we are only going to be at Epcot once this trip and we will probably be gone by dinner time) when they release them, but then I am going to think about it and decide whether or not to keep it as the time gets closer.

We did eat at the Mexico CS once, last summer. It was not great. But it was pouring down rain and we were eating in our wet ponchos and the whole experience was not a good one. I would be willing to try it again someday I suppose.

Are you doing Ohana for breakfast or dinner? We've done both and are doing dinner this time!

The Plaza. Well, this one is tricky. You should be fine as long as your kids who are over 9 will order off the adults menu. They WILL NOT allow anyone over 9 to order off the kids menu. They don't offer it for an upcharge or offer any alternative (such as an adult portion of a kids meal, etc. ) I have read this over and over here on the DIS. Them, as well as La Hacienda (the newer Mexican TS) are like that. While the rest of the WDW restaurants don't care! Weird. Neither of my kids like adult choices yet, so we will stay away from these places.

I knew this prior to yesterday, but booked the Plaza anyway. I thought we would just get the kids something to eat from Casey's and when they were done we would go to the Plaza for DH and I to eat. But then yesterday I read a few more reviews about the Plaza and LH saying they even make a big deal out of people at the table sharing an appetizer and things like that. So I figure they will make a big deal of the kids not ordering anything. :sad2:

Good grief. I just don't need the hassle while on vacation. We pay OOP and expect to be able to order and eat whatever we want!!

Wow, that got long!! Sorry, but I hope it helped!

Awesome!! Thank you so much for the advice and answering my questions Shelly. We're going to do dinner at 'Ohana too! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you had to deal with the rude LL employee, what a snotty cow - as we say here in the UK!

The apple fries looked delicious.

I hope you enjoyed Celebration as much as I do :goodvibes

She did. I have no patience for people like that anymore!

Lots of Celebration coming up! :thumbsup2

Yes, she did! :headache: I really should have complained about her. She was beyond rude.

The apple fries were so good!

You're welcome! :)

A snotty cow!!! :lmao::rotfl2: Love it!

The apple fries were great! :thumbsup2

Celebration coming up! :goodvibes

Oh boy... what a fun update!

The water skiing show looked like a cheesy fun time. I thought that Brickbeard was Veeeeeery believeable as a pirate.;)
Does everyone remember when Goofy used to ski in the lagoon at WDW? I miss that.:sad2:

I am so surprised that there wasn't a lot of Legos in the Big Store! maybe it shrunk ala The Medium Kahuna? ;) :lmao:

Speaking of eating-- those apple fries are very interesting! Did they taste like fried apple pie?? You know, like the ones McDonalds used to sell?

And as far as that lady--- huh. She needed the taste slapped outta her mouth, Too. As in also. :rotfl: (Yeah you know I'm right.)

And as far as this...

I'm sorry you had to deal with the rude LL employee, what a snotty cow - as we say here in the UK!

That is the best most wonderfulest thing I think I've ever heard.

And yes to be sure I will be incorporating that into my language.:rolleyes1

Wow, I've fallen behind. I have been reading, just haven't commented.

So - Legoland looks cool! I am always impressed with the displays. That water show looked cute - I can't believe the people with those heads!

Let's see what else? Oh - ADRs! The Plaza - I ate there back in 2008 and really liked it, but our kids were still "kids", so there was no issue. I've never heard of any restaurant denying you or anyone from ordering from the kids menu. That's just dumb. Would they rather people didn't eat at all? Way to lose customers! It's good to know that kind of thing in advance though, before you go in and have that problem.

LeCellier - we've only been there the one time, in 2009. It was very good then, and I'd like to go back again. But if we were on DDP, I would not use 2 credits. I'd do lunch or OOP so I could order what I wanted. I heard that the lunch menu has been limited too. Not cool.

Okay - rude snotty cow lady! Holy Cats, that's just ridiculous! I have no patience for rude people anymore either. It's gotten so out of control. I try to make them realize that they are being rude. If I encounter that at WDW, I will be speaking to managers. I have to deal with the public a lot at work, and some people are simply rude. I get that sometimes they're frustrated, but in your case, it sounds like she just hated having to say that over and over. Tough lady, it's your JOB! And WHY on earth would they NOT take that card????
My new strategy is to kill them with kindness. Make them feel bad by being super sweet and say things like, "Oh, I'm terribly sorry to inconvenience you, I had just wrongly assumed that a HUGE lego store like yours would have accepted the card. I guess EVERYONE must make that assumption since you had to go to such trouble as to have to make a sign up!" I might go on and on just to torture them. ;)

So, on to Celebration!!! I can't wait to hear about this!! It's definitely in my plans for October!

Loving the updates.

Congrates on making your ADRs today. Are you going to do the CP? I read booking opens up on 6/26 only thing the night I was going to do it the Narrator has not been announced yet so we will do Whoopie unless they name someone. I would like to do NPH but that would mean I have to change too many days around to fit it in.

So you're at LEGOland, in their store, and they don't accept the LEGO card??? That's just crazy. :confused3

I'm also amazed that people who obviously don't enjoy working with the public continue to work there. Why work in a place where you clearly don't want to be?

I'm ready to hear about Celebration! :thumbsup2

The water show looked fun! My kids would like that.
We ate at the Plaza the last 2 trips and it's a new family fav. We have had no issues and not seen anyone else having issues. Not sure about the kids menu thing because one DS is 8 and my DS13 hasn't eaten off the kids menu in a long time. But I will say the regular menu should be pretty friendly, they have burgers and club sandwiches AND yummy milkshakes! It has been very good and the CMs both times were great, some of our friendliest ever!

It was a cheesy fun time!! :cool1: Goofy must have water skied at WDW before my WDW time. Never got to see that!

I am so surprised that there wasn't a lot of Legos in the Big Store! maybe it shrunk ala The Medium Kahuna? ;) :lmao:

Yeah, the Lego Big Store kind of stunk! :headache: I'm not even sure it could be called a Medium Kahuna.

Speaking of eating-- those apple fries are very interesting! Did they taste like fried apple pie?? You know, like the ones McDonalds used to sell?

I guess they kind of tasted like that. But better I think. More apple taste and less of an apple filling taste.

And as far as that lady--- huh. She needed the taste slapped outta her mouth, Too. As in also. :rotfl: (Yeah you know I'm right.)

I knew you'd be laughing your behind off at the 'snotty cow'!! :rotfl2:

I hate rude employees!
Can't wait to hear about Celebration!

Me too! :headache: It's just uncalled for.

Celebration is coming up! :goodvibes

Glad you are all caught up! :)

Yeah, I don't know how those people were water skiing with those giant heads! :faint: :rotfl:

Yep, apparently the Plaza and La Hacienda are getting quite a reputation for pulling that kind of junk. :confused3 Dumb.

Good to hear you had a nice experience at LeCellier. I'm still hoping to get an ADR there.....Whenever they open them up.......

I wish I would have thought to say something like that to rude snotty cow lady at LL. :rotfl: I always think of that stuff after the fact, just not quick enough on my toes I guess. :upsidedow She sure was something else. :sad2:

Thanks Sheila! :)

No we aren't doing the CP. No extras on this trip. I think it would be a cool experience though. You'll have to tell me all about it. ::yes::

I know, I thought that was the craziest thing I had ever heard!! :scared1::upsidedow

And clearly so does everybody else. It was obvious I wasn't the first one to hand her a Lego Club card. And yes, she needs to look for a job that is NOT in customer service.

The water show looked fun! My kids would like that.

It was fun!

We had a decent time when we went to the Plaza in 2009. But the kids were both 'kids' then. This business of 10 year olds being adults at WDW is crazy to begin with. I'm glad almost all of the restaurants will allow people to order whatever they want. I just can't chance going to either of the places that I know will make a big deal of it. If I only read it once I would have to question it, but I've read it so many times. :scared1:

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to your DH!!! I hope he has a very special day! :goodvibes It's easy to see from your TR's what a great dad he is.

I tried to make my message up there stand out a little by making it bigger and colorful. But for some reason, I couldn't open the size and color charts - actually, none of the options open. :confused3 Is it just me and/or my computer? (I'm always asking these loaded questions.)

Happy Father's Day to yo' Man!!!!

:goodvibes

I hope he has a good day and you're having good weather. Eat lots for me.:thumbsup2

Belle made a card for Mark that read "Happy Farther's Day Dad!"
She thinks she's so funny. :scared:

(Teri- none of the fun stuff is working for me either!:confused3)

Nothing's working for me either.

I can't even use the Quick Links drop down menu. Grrr...

Happy Father's Day to all those DIS dads out there!

I couldn't get the drop down color, font & size to work yesterday, but it seems to be working now. :confused3

Thank you! Happy Father's Day to Mark! :) Cute card, I bet he loved it!!

We had a nice picnic. It rained though! :upsidedow I knew the weather had been too nice for too long and we would have to pay for it sooner or later. Oh well, it only rained for a bit, so it wasn't a total washout!

Nothing's working for me either.

I can't even use the Quick Links drop down menu. Grrr...

Happy Father's Day to all those DIS dads out there!

I think it's finally working now. I'll see in a minute when I try to post this!
