I'm NEVER staying home for March Break again! FINISHED 07/17 Just in time!

I am really enjoying your trip report. My favorite picture lately was the one of Blanche on the phone.
The flowers are beautiful there. They put so much work into all the little details.

I love your photos again. I especially love the roses. I think that must be the Disney color roses. I now want some for my yard. I love that color, it would be so nice to be able to go out to the yard and pick them while they are in bloom.

I never noticed the ceiling of the hand stamp area. Now I need to look in November!!

Have a good week or so.

This is going to be a busy week! My report cards are due next Monday, but I have a busy week ahead, 3 fit camps (as usual) Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday night is a big Church event (Catholic Women's League 50th anniversary at my parish) that I'm going to-being a Catholic Woman that belongs to my church! ;) :rotfl:) And Saturday evening is a huge benefit for one of the owners of my gym who was in a car crash a month ago. So basically, school and report cards have to come first! I might not get on here to update, so I blessed you with a few updates today to keep you covered! :yay: Hopefully you'll still want to read when I come back. Now watch me decide to procrastinate a whole bunch and do my trip report instead! :rotfl: Have a great week everyone!

Holy Updates you've been posting alright! Sorry to hear you were feeling sick, but I guess we all benefitted. Another 3 weeks (less now) and you'll be through all that end of year stuff so we can get on with the report!

Enjoying DL through your camera's eye (although I might buy your camera a level :), I think I tweeked my neck) Really making me start to think about a Disney trip to the left coast now too...

Thanks. Part of what I love about Disney is the fact that they have so much details. When you're in a line, there are things to look at. It's amazing. And I like those ones too!

Thanks. I'm glad to show you (A DL pro!) something new! Disney flowers are always beautiful. I love to appreciate flowers, but I don't like the work to keep a garden.

I loved DL. I hope you get there sometime. It's worth it! Feeling much better now. Two weeks left. Seven days with the kiddos and then 3 days to clean up the classroom and get everything out so they can do the floors and the walls. Yucky!

Report cards got submitted last night! I hope to get some work done on this tomorrow, but I have tons of pictures to go through. There was a dance recital, a gymnastics show, a school carnival, the CWL dinner, and today I had my first ever paying photo gig! One of the young men that came to Spain with me last year (World Youth Day) had his prom today and his mom called me to see if I could take pictures. She only called last night! The funny thing was, this afternoon I was supposed to get my hair done (hide the gray!) but my sister (my hairdresser) called and asked if I could come in the morning instead. So it all worked out.

Anyways, have a wonderful evening everyone, I'm off to the benefit now. I will be back tomorrow with at least one post!

hmmmm....why is it not letting me change the font or the size? Or even the color... weird.

I now look at the ceiling when I go into places. I am not much of a gardener myself. My son Loren has an amazing green thumb.

I'm glad you have a green thumb in the family! It helps with the gardens when you appreciate them.

Looking up, especially at Disney, is important!

Just read through all 12 pages of your report in one sitting! Thanks so much for posting - your photos are fabulous and I really dig your sense of humour!:rotfl2: Looking forward to more updates.

Welcome and thanks! It looks as though I can change the font now, so I can get the next installment up before I get back to the prom pictures.

March 20, 2012, Part 12: First time at DCA!

Quietly and casually we walked back to our hotel, again being thankful for the close proximity to the parks.

Anytime! by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

It was warming up. I think I took my sweater off on the walk. Weather underground says that the temperature reached 23. That’s a nice, mild temperature. I like it hotter!

Hojo Parking by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

We got back to the hotel around lunch time. Blanche probably called home. I think I probably just snacked. We took a little break then headed back to the bus stop by the gate to the parks because we were getting on an Anaheim city bus, not the ART bus. (Not that I know where the ART bus stop even was near our hotel…. Hmmm… I guess I’ll have to look into that WHEN I get back one day!)

We waited a few minutes for the bus, then the ride over was quite uneventful. The outlet store was around the corner of the little strip mall type place. There wasn’t a whole lot there, I was somewhat disappointed because I love the Character Warehouse/Outlets in Orlando. I knew this one wasn’t owned by Disney, so I tried not to hope too much. I did find a few things that I bought, so not too bad!

I think we walked into one other store near there. We didn’t buy anything though. On the bus ride back, well, that’s where things got interesting. Before we even got on the bus, an older gentleman on an ECV (Those scooter things for people with mobility issues. Is that what they’re called?) couldn’t manoeuver his machine well. The driver kept asking him questions and I don’t think he could hear properly. The driver actually had to tell him how to steer it and when to back up etc. It was crazy. The bus driver was getting really cranky and people were trying to yell at the old man so he could hear. It took quite some time to get him settled. We all hopped on the bus while he was doing that because we wanted to save a few minutes. Then during the ride, some woman got up from near the back of the bus, and when she got near us, she started cursing and saying something along the lines of “You f… jerk.” She proceeded to sit at the front of the bus. There were a few other seats up there, but at the next stop an older (not too, too old as far as I could tell) woman got on and said “Someone needs to get up so I have a seat.” Keep in mind, there were empty seats. A woman did get up and move. But she didn’t want that seat! She started complaining that no one would move for an old woman or something like that. You’re fat and lazy if you won’t move for me. It was crazy. The other woman was answering her with things along the lines of “There are other seats, just sit down and shut up.” As were other people. I think the bus driver told her to either sit or to shut up because there were seats. I think she ended up getting off before her stop and waiting for the next bus. I kept thinking that we weren’t in Kansas (or Disney) anymore!

After our mini shopping expedition, we decided to head to DCA for the first time. The plan was to get World of Color Fastpasses if they had any left for the second show. Well, you could imagine me walking down the street, practically hopping and skipping on the way to DCA. It was my first time! I was a newbie! (I actually did hop and skip in the line for Disney’s Magical Express on my very first trip to WDW, so it’s possible I was literally hopping and skipping).

I walked by Grizzly River Rapids hoping that it would warm up enough for me to ride it! I’ve only ever been on Kali River Rapids once at WDW because I’m such a cold wimp. Seriously, I’ve been to WDW twice in the summer, and it was boiling hot and I loved it, but I didn’t want to get wet! Hahaha.

They only have two colors now, two sections to help you enter. We got some for the yellow section. We figured we’d have enough energy to watch the show. We were totally looking forward to it!

What do you think our first ride will be in Disney’s California Adventure? You’ll have to wait for the next installment because that’s how many pictures I took! Well, I took more, but that’s how many I have for the post-the limit! Hahaha. They might not all be perfect, but hey, I like them and I’m sharing them!

I love your pictures!!

I'm hoping your first ride at DCA is Toy Story Midway Mania :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing.

Hey! Thanks, I really enjoy taking pictures, but I guess that's evident with all the pictures I've posted! :rotfl: I was hoping it was going to be Toy Story Midway Mania too!

March 20, 2012 Part 13: The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, being brilliant readers that you are (and observant picture looker atters! There you have it; I make up silly words sometimes.) you already know that our first ride was the Little Mermaid. I absolutely love the Little Mermaid movie, so I was probably literally hopping up and down in the line. This is new, since it's not at WDW (yet) and I love new things... and old things... and things I've done many times while at a Disney park!

The ride is cute. I enjoyed the music and the, well, cuteness of it. It’s similar in style as any of the other movie dark rides, it tells the story and you sit in something related to the movie and look. I love it!

When I rode on Ariel in February it became an instant favorite of mine!! Such a cute ride!!

Mickey's Fun Wheel by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

After loving the Little mermaid, we looked around and saw that the Golden Zephirs (sp?) had a 5 minute wait time, so can you guess what we did?

I laughed and laughed the whole time because Blanche was freaking out! She kept saying “There is a reason the lines are supposed to be long! It’s so you know what the ride is like!” She was petrified of being over the water. It was a great little ride, but I can’t picture myself waiting very long for it.

We wandered around, but some rides were shutting down because they were getting ready for World of Color. I snapped some pictures… well, you know, probably a bunch of pictures. Eventually we made our way into A Bug’s Land and decided to watch It’s Tough to be a Bug. I always watch it once a trip at WDW, so I had to watch it here.

March 20, 2012, Part 15: The last post of the day!

After It’s Tough to be a Bug, we wandered a little bit and found Monster’s Inc. We hopped in line (it was short, I’m sure! And the pictures tell me… we were taking pictures before the 3d film at 7:48 and in line for Monster’s Inc at 8:12. And the first picture I’m posting says 8:16). This was a similar idea to the Little Mermaid, retelling the story. I adore this movie too, but I love most Disney movies. Tron I didn’t finish, so I can’t say I loved that one, I turned it off!

At the end of the ride, Roz is there, and she talked to me! She said “Cheese! Oh, you left your lens cap on! Just kidding… I like your glasses, wanna trade?” It was so fun! I’ve never had that experience before. I laughed quite a bit and I think I was shocked and didn’t take as many pictures as I’d thought I had!

March 20, 2012, Part 16: Very last part of our day!

After the fun ride on Monster’s Inc, we wandered around a little bit more before heading back to the area to watch World of Color. Our guide from the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps tour had told us to try the corn dogs at Corn Dog Castle, and I had never had a corn dog before and I can’t remember if Blanche ever had. Did you Blanche? So we did. We got corn dogs and chips (yummy chips!) at Corn Dog Castle and then waited next to a garbage can so we could set our food on it and Blanche could lean during the show if she needed to. Only at Disney would I use a garbage can as a table! The corn dogs were good. I don’t think it’s something I’ll eat here, it’s going to be a Disney food for me. Blanche is still talking about it, so I think she loved it!

There were a few technical difficulties with the show, and it stopped for a few minutes, but then it started again. In between, a cast member had removed the rope behind us, so we changed position, but then another one put it back when the show was starting again, and told us we couldn’t stand there. We found our garbage can again and watched the show. We were way in the back and couldn’t see everything, but it was a great show. Here is an awesome link if you’re interested in seeing what it is! This guy actually recorded it and put it on line for everyone, even allowing you to download it and burn it to DVD yourself! ClifflixHe’s got others too, like Fantasmic and Wishes.

While leaving the park, I reflected on my first experience at Disney’s California Adventure. My first impressions of DCA were all good! At this point, we were really tired and just going to go to bed. We thought originally we might want to head to DL for a little visit, but no way! Sleep was needed.
