Firsts, Fourths, and Farewells (4/28 Back to the Future!)

Nice update :thumbsup2

The pictures of the kids outside with Nemo are so cute especially X kissing Nemo :)

Nemo is such a cute ride and the fact that there is never a wait makes it more so :)

:rotfl: to your mystery door

We really like Nemo - X usually asks to go on several times.
And that door made me laugh as well.
I thought it was a joke at first but then I realized this was a real door with a real function (although I have no clue what that is! :confused3 )

I use Dropshots for my Disney trip reports (on ivillage) - they should work on here just as easily, though. I can't remember the free account limits. I upgraded to "unlimited" for a one time fee (maybe $100?) or they also have monthly options from $5. I mostly just store ALL our Disney pictures on there, but I could use it for more if I chose to. www.dropshots.com You could always use a combination - both free accounts - to get more bandwidth.

Thanks for sharing your trip report, but I keep wanting you to hurry up so I can read about your more recent trips, too! :)

Thanks - I'll have to look into that site.
But how about another segment right now?

After cruising the seas with our friend Nemo, we headed over to meet the oldest Sea Turtle we could find.
Diney2011DayFive142.jpg

But first we decided to go play a while with Mr. Ray!
We really like the Ray lagoon over here.
It’s a great little exhibit and it makes a much easier wait for Turtle Talk since the kids have something to watch.
Diney2011DayFive143.jpg

Diney2011DayFive144.jpg

Diney2011DayFive145.jpg

Diney2011DayFive147.jpg

Diney2011DayFive149.jpg

Then we headed into the next room where we saw a large tank with a microphone hanging in it.
Diney2011DayFive150.jpg

“Look at all the people in the Human Tank!”
Crush greeted us fondly and the kids were very excited.
Diney2011DayFive151.jpg

Too bad he came in too fast and bopped his head.
That must hurt.
Diney2011DayFive152.jpg

Then Crush began to ask us questions about being human.
Including what some objects he found under the sea were.
Can you guess?
Diney2011DayFive153.jpg

Diney2011DayFive159.jpg

The kids always get a kick out of the girl’s bathing suit.
Then Crush decided to let some of the little humans ask a question.
DS was quick with his hand and got called first.
DS: “What’s it like to be a turtle?”
Diney2011DayFive166.jpg

Crush liked that question.
He said “It totally rocks” as then described all the fun things turtles do – swim, surf, hang out with Squirt.
But then he asked DS what it was like to be human.
This, of course, threw DS for a loop as he was not expecting a question back.
DS: “ummm, it is cool.”
Crush: “Alright, what do you do?”
DS: “Ummmm, play with my toys?”
Crush: “Oh dude – that is totally awesome. What’s your favorite toy dude?”
DS (again not expecting to think on the fly): “Ummmmm, Legos?”
(I love how each statement ends in a question.)
Crush: “Wegos? Is it pretty cool?”
DS: “Yeah”
Crush: “Awesome dude – what do you do with them?”
DS: “Ummmm, you can build with them and then play…”
Crush: “Whoa – you like to build stuff dude?”
DS nods his head
Crush: “Put your fins together for this smart little dude. Awesome to meet you dude.”
And then DS got a round of applause.
Crush: “Build away my son. Build away!”

Crush talked to a few more little dudes and then Dory showed up to visit the Human Tank.
Diney2011DayFive162.jpg

Diney2011DayFive161.jpg

Dory decided to show off her whale-speaking skills again.
Too bad that ended up not so good for Dory.
Diney2011DayFive167.jpg

But the whale finally moved and all was well.
After the visit with Crush, Mom got a call from a friend of hers who was also visiting Epcot.
Mom took DS and headed out to meet them (the friend's son is DS’s best friend).
The rest of us decided to play a bit in Bruce’s Sub House.
Diney2011DayFive171.jpg

Diney2011DayFive172.jpg

Diney2011DayFive175.jpg

Diney2011DayFive176.jpg

Diney2011DayFive178.jpg

Diney2011DayFive180.jpg

We then headed over to the manatees exhibit.
This is always a fun spot since when Mom comes, she NEVER and I mean NEVER gets to see them.
They are either redoing the exhibit or getting a check-up or something.
But she has NEVER seen them in the tank.
She claims they don’t exist.
So, of course, we had to prove her wrong.
And we did.
Happy little Sea Cows…
Diney2011DayFive181.jpg

Then it was upstairs to visit the Underwater Viewing Area.
This section is usually overlooked but is a lot of fun and the kids can spend hours in here.
I like to look for the Hidden Mickeys…
Diney2011DayFive182.jpg

Diney2011DayFive183.jpg

Diney2011DayFive184.jpg

Diney2011DayFive186.jpg

Diney2011DayFive187.jpg

Diney2011DayFive188.jpg

Diney2011DayFive191.jpg

Then we saw the dolphins.
The trainers were even out playing some games with them.
The trainer would point to a square on a tic-tac-toe board and the dolphin would swim to another board and point to the same square.
It was really cool.
Diney2011DayFive189.jpg

Diney2011DayFive190.jpg

Diney2011DayFive190-1.jpg

After the dolphins, we headed back down to check out the other exhibits.
We did, after all, have to Find Nemo…
Diney2011DayFive192.jpg

Diney2011DayFive194.jpg

Of course, Dory and Marlin were not far behind.
And there are other friends from the movie swimming around as well.
Diney2011DayFive195.jpg

Diney2011DayFive196.jpg

Diney2011DayFive197.jpg

Diney2011DayFive200.jpg

Diney2011DayFive201.jpg

Diney2011DayFive202.jpg

Diney2011DayFive203.jpg

On the way out, X decided he wanted to ride the ride one more time.
Sure – why not?
So the CM led us down a secret path back to the front of the line and we went looking for Nemo once more.

Finally, we headed out of the pavilion and over towards Future World East.
But we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to visit Chip and Dale on our way!
I love how Dale grabbed the Princess’ pony tails!
Diney2011DayFive205.jpg

Diney2011DayFive206.jpg

Diney2011DayFive208.jpg

Diney2011DayFive209.jpg

After the meet and greet we headed across Epcot.
Stay tuned for our adventures but first – let's see what happened to Mom and DS!!

Then Crush decided to let some of the little humans ask a question.
DS was quick with his hand and got called first.
DS: “What’s it like to be a turtle?”

Crush talked to a few more little dudes

One of them made such an impression on Crush (and not in a good way, I must say) that Crush asked who the little dude (dudette?) belonged to. NO
ONE raised their hands. For several times of his asking who this one came with. Clearly, they were either so embarrassed themselves or they were
asleep they totally missed it all! :rotfl: LOL

Good thing my brother wasn't there. As the family story goes, he was traumatized by Bruce from Jaws (which came out when he was really young). :happytv:
I don't think he'd be terribly fond of seeing a shark up close with his mouth open like this, let alone with family or friends in its mouth. :rotfl2:

More and more, I'm realizing that Chip and Dale are my favorite characters, I think. This shot of the handshake didn't happen at first. After the
standard picture with the two of them, I decided to say thank you with this crossed handshake and started to walk off. They were so amused by it, they
beckoned me back so that we could take a picture of it. :cool1:

What a fun update! Sounds like everyone had a great time exploring the Living Seas and how fun that he got to talk to Crush! The Chip and Dale pics are great :thumbsup2 We never see them at Epcot :confused3

Happy Father's Day Michael!! :goodvibes

Okay, Sir, you know I'm a recent lurker. popcorn::

I was just curious if you knew about the hidden Mickeys visible from the queue for the Test Track & in Bruce's Sub House? I'm hesitant to just blurt them out. :confused3

I so appreciated your links on the tours! & after you TR with all the stuff for MNSSHP, my mom is super :yay: psyched that I'm treating her to a Mother/Daughter trip during the F&WF. Your TR have been invaluable for planning that trip!

I don't recall any Hidden Mickeys that I know of in either place!
Please tell us!! :cool1:

You guys will LOVE MNSSHP! It was ALOT of fun!
And I'm glad my TR could help you plan your night!
You'll have to tell us all about it when you get back!

In line for the Test Track on the left side are some washers on a table left to represent Mickey's head. In the Sub House there is a giant ...poster :confused3 about sharks. As you are facing it, in the bottom Right hand corner is a clam shell. It's hiding a Mickey-shaped pearl.

Oh! Bonus: the boat ride beside Soarin' (begging everyone's pardon, but I forgot the name:confused: ) has another one that I know of. When you pass by the fish tanks, there is a green hose that's been left coiled in the shape of Mickey's head on the floor on the starboard side. (pirate:I think I'm calling right by it's correct nautical alias. :rotfl: )

Alibi: these were last spotted Dec '10. So I hope they haven't been removed/changed.

Having explained TRs & the vast amount of help? She's pretty much requiring me to pay it forward. I'll be taking my tablet so I can have a word document constantly updated. I'm hoping my FB photo album will support the pics for posting.

There are, in fact, several more in the Living with the Land boat ride. But the hose is definitely still there (I think I have a pic coming up).

Don't think we've found the Test Track and Sub House ones though.

Hey capell family!

I see I missed a few updates while I was on my most recent trip to the world. I will stop by later tonight so I can catch up on all the great family pics! :thumbsup2 Pictureless right now. bummer!

Hey guys, greeting from your GS troop 1191. Hope you guys are having fun! (it's Theresa)

Great updates that I missed. Your pictures, as always, are great. I took a lot of the same pics in June. I just haven't edited them yet to see how they turned out. I hope they are as good as yours.

I know I probably saw the kids outfits in an earlier update, but I didn't realize just how well they went with the Nemo theme until now. So impressed with mrs capell for picking out such coordinating designer outfits. :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!
Sorry it's been so long.
We just got back from our 10-day Beach Club/Disney Fantasy vacation!
We had tons of fun and did so much it feels like we've been gone forever!
I promise I'll get back to this TR ASAP and will try to get an update tonight or tomorrow.

The kids are excited about the trip we just got back from so we may even start a TR for that one so they can contribute.
Sounds like I may be upgrading my Photobucket account to Premium... :confused3

Glad you liked the pictures!
Did you start a new TR? I must've missed it with all the pre-cruise insanity.
But Mom definitely gets all the props for our awesome outfits.
And there's still much more to come!

Welcome Back!! I hope your trip was absolutely wonderful!! You know I can't wait to hear all about it :goodvibes

Well, it turns out that DS’s best friend (and his family) have a habit of going to WDW around the same time as we do quite often.
Each time, the boys are SO excited that they will be in The World together and each time, we hardly see them at all.
Their touring plan is completely different than ours.
A couple of times, the boys were able to sit together on the airplane, but that’s about it.

You see, their three boys are roller coaster fiends and our family tends to skip them for the most part (which frustrates DD immensely).
They are night owls and our kids are early birds.
They are eat-on-the run kind of people and we are leisurely sit-down meal kind of people.

So, when we compared our plans and found that we would all be in the same area of Epcot,
I was determined to let DS catch a few moments of fun with his BFF!

When we got the call that they were headed to The Land, DS and I hustled over to Soarin’ to meet up with his buddy’s family!
I snapped this pic while we were waiting for them at the entrance sign:
Diney2011DayFive210.jpg

Luckily, we all had scored fast passes earlier in the morning so the wait was not too terrible.
Here are the boys on line for the ride (see how happy DS is?):
Diney2011DayFive211.jpg

And here are the boys just before our gliders took off:
Diney2011DayFive214.jpg

All in all, DS was thrilled to see his bud and disappointed that their time together was so short.
But he still refused to meet up with them later in the trip to ride the coasters!
Personally, I was just happy to see DS so happy- and an extra trip on my favorite ride made me extremely happy!
