I'm NEVER staying home for March Break again! FINISHED 07/17 Just in time!

Congratulations on getting the assignment you wanted!!

Thank you! It is really exciting to do the same thing a few years in a row. It will hopefully make me feel a little more confident! Sometimes I feel like a brand new teacher.... and this past year was my NINTH year! :rotfl:

March 20th, 2012, Part 5: Storybookland Canal Boats

Right after rushing through eight rides before eight, we had nothing else that we wanted to ride in Fantasyland! Our fingers were numb and cold, but our feet were not so tired, because we'd barely spent any time in line. We got in line for the Storybookland Canal boats, even though it was not yet open. We were the second group in line.

Off topic: There is a TV show on ABC called Once Upon a Time. (I think I mentioned it before) Does anyone watch it? I love it! If you like fairy tales, you've got to see this twist on them! While in Disneyland, and now writing the trip report, I keep saying/writing Storybrook instead of Storybook. And even on this little ride, I was thinking more about the Fairy tale characters in Once Upon a Time and not Disney! And because of the show Snow White is totally growing on me!

Here are some pictures from the boats:

I love reading trip reports that have lots of pictures. I caught up on all 10 pages of your TR tonight... LOL! Love it so far, thanks for sharing!

I can understand that. My next door neighbor is a teacher and next year she is teaching an interesting kindergarten class, it is combined pre-school, regular kindergarten, and a k/1 group. She is really excited!

Oh common! Don't talk like that, you are an awesome teacher! My daughter loves being in your class, and I am surprised how much she has learned in terms of understanding and conversing in a second language. I also appreciate how well we are kept in the loop about what is going on and what the kids are learning. Job well done from this parents point of view! I hope #3 lands with you in a few years.

Thanks for joining us. Many more pictures to come. I only took 4500 pictures during the week, which didn't seem like a lot! :)

Now that's an assignment! Wow! I wish her all the best!

Thanks. I seriously was not looking for compliments, it's just some days you doubt yourself! I am impressed every day with how much the students learn. And yours in particular has begun speaking much more French around the classroom. Here's to hoping to have number three as well!

I'm home sick for the second day in a row, but feeling a lot better than yesterday! Must have been something going through my classroom, because the other French K teacher e-mailed me and said there were EIGHT of my sixteen students out sick yesterday!!

I can't do much report card work since I left all my notes at school as I wasn't planning to get sick. So instead, it will be trip report work! I hope to have at least one update or two before the end of the day.

March 20, 2012, Part 6: It’s a Small World (Yes, in my Trip Report, It’s a Small World gets its own post!)

We started towards It’s a Small World next. I am totally amazed that it’s only 8:07 in the morning and I’ve been on so many rides. If there was ever any need for proof of the importance of getting to the parks early, then this is it! Even during Extra Magic Hours in WDW I don’t think I’ve ever been able to do so much in such a short time. I love teaching, but it really hinders my Disney visits! Hahaha

I enjoyed getting on and off the ride outside too. I wonder if I would like that as much in the rain? Probably not!

It's a Small World 18 by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

I have to ride IASW at least once a trip. I do enjoy it. The last time I rode it in WDW was extra special as we switched spots with some parents and two young boys. The boys had never ridden it before and kept going on and on about everything “Dad! Look at that! Mom, take a picture! Wow, that’s so cool!” Even turning around and asking us if we’d seen something. It made the ride extra special.

Back to DL in 2012: I might actually be warming up a little!

March 20, 2012: Part 7, Finding Nemo Submarine

Can you guess where we went next? Hahaha

Bathroom by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

After our first break of the morning, we didn’t ride the Bobsleds, but we walked by them. I really want to ride them, so I guess I have to wait for my next trip.

No Bobsleds today by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

I’m not a smoker, neither is Blanche, but the other Golden Girl, Rose, is. We thought of her while walking by this area.

So we decided to get in line for Finding Nemo if the wait time wasn’t too long.

Mine, mine! by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

Nemo 1 by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

Blanche had been to Disneyland twice, but both visits were before Disney’s California Adventure. It had been a while since she’d been on 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, but she remembered it and was looking forward to the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. So was I, but I look forward to any and all rides, except for the spinny ones that make me dizzy. By 8:37am, we were in line. I was still having a hard time believing all the things we’d done that morning. The line seemed to move so slowly, but maybe that was because we hadn’t waited all morning. It was really only about 20 minutes. It was, in all honesty, something I thought I’d be scared to do. I always thought I’d be terrified to go down in a submarine, but this was a Disney submarine, so I figured I’d be fine!

There was this cute little one year old on her father’s knee beside me who kept us quite entertained. She kept waving and saying hi, and we’d wave back and say hi back. I think at one point her parents got a little annoyed with us because they passed her to her mother. What did you expect us to do? Blanche is a paediatric nurse, I’m a kindergarten teacher and between us, we’ve probably got about 30+ nieces and nephews between us! We love kids!

It was only 9:15, but we’d been on the go since about 6:30 and we were starting to get hungry, so we thought we’d find a second breakfast somewhere in the park.

I LOVE your Small World pictures!! What amazing pictures they are!!

You know if someone has a little one near me that says hi or smiles or whatever I react. I understood it when people did that with my kids, I think its nice when people do.

Thanks! I like them too. I rode the ride a few times, so there will be more later :rotfl:.

Most people understand, occasionally I get weird responses. I love seeing children from my school and the parents kind of look at me funny. I usually tell them I teach at their child's school. It's even funnier when the kids run up and hug me and the parents have no idea who I am! :lmao:

March 20th, 2012, Part 8:

When I last left you, it was not even 9:30am and there were some rumblies in our tummies! We walked by Star Tours while looking for breakfast, and saw this:

Number 5? by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

The ride was great! It was the first time I’d been on Star Tours since they added the 3D and the various rides and I loved it! I’m *gasp* not a huge Star Wars fan, in fact, I don’t know for sure if I’ve even seen any of the movies… so technically I could be a fan, just not that I’m aware of yet! I have always loved Star Tours though, just because it’s a fun ride, and anytime I’ve been at WDW and the line was short, I’d hop in to ride it again. Truly, the refurb surpassed my expectations; all that rebel spy stuff is fun!

We saw another short wait time, so again, we hopped in line, ignoring our rumbling bellies.

Any rides where you compete, well, I compete. I can’t help it. I love to play board games and card games. I may not be competitive when it comes to sports, but where games are concerned, I’m in, and I’m in it to win it. I didn’t take a picture of our scores this time, because Blanche didn’t want me to! Hahaha… She’s not quite so competitive. And bragging is not very lady like! Hahahaha

Saw some spooky dudes outside. They must have been new Disney security because they were covered in armor and carrying guns. I didn’t get too close to them. I get tagged for extra security at the airports, people must think I’m dangerous!

Tomorrowland 2 by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

We got in line for Astro Orbitor, I’ve never been on it at WDW. Then we watched it for a second and back-tracked out. We realized we didn’t need to ride it!

So we kept on trucking to look for food.

Keep them coming. We're planning our 1st DL trip and they are soo helpful!

Well you're in luck! They're coming now. I decided to do another post before heading to school to get my classroom organized. Home sick for 2 days and a bookshelf gets built in my room!

March 20, 2012, Part 9: A Practically Private Pirate Experience!

We had just dissed the Astro Orbitor, and were thinking about eating breakfast at the Liberty Belle Terrace, so we headed back out towards the hub. Sorry to bore you, but there will be some more castle pictures ahead. Feel free to scroll through them quickly if you are sick of castle pictures!

After feeling sufficiently nourished, we decided to wander around New Orlean’s Square. It has such a fun feel to it, and it reminds me of Port Orleans French Quarter. We spent three nights there in 2009 and I love that resort. Maybe it’s the “French/Acadian” in me that I have like my Cajun cousins!

It was a fun little experience at DL that only the four of us standing in the courtyard had – no one else.

I’ll stop there because they only allow me to post 25 pictures at a time, and Haunted Mansion is next. That requires more than 2 pictures! Hahaha.

March 20, 2012, Part 10: Haunted Mansion

By 11:10 we were in line for one of our absolute favorite rides, Haunted Mansion. We love this. We laugh, we get spooked and we laugh. If you haven’t read my 2010 trip report (it is in my signature), please do, if only for the Haunted Mansion story. I also remember riding in 2007 when I took my nephew. He loves it because I wasn’t being spooked by the ride at all. Then at one point we were going backwards, and the car behind us (that we were facing) was going sideways. The man in the doom buggy that we could see reached out to point at something, and I screamed! The ride wasn’t scary, but a stranger’s arm was. I guess that might be part of why I love it so much, for the fun memories.

I think this was a time there was a little girl in line with us who was scared. So we talked to her and told her that before the ride is scarier than the ride. We told her that the lights will go out and to hold on to someone’s hand. She was absolutely adorable, and would only listen to us! She didn’t trust her family at all! So funny.

We decided we wanted to head out of the park because we really wanted to get to the Disney Character Warehouse in Fullerton. We wanted to do the outlet store before doing most of our Disney shopping because sometimes that can settle some of my need to Disney shop, but at a better rate!
So we walked around through out of the park, all the while saying “oh, we HAVE to get on the Columbia, and the Riverboat…” etc. And while we’re doing that, we’re enjoying the fact that it’s warmed up some and I took my socks off! Hahaha Of course, I was taking lots of pictures while doing this… well, not taking off my socks, but walking out of the park.

This is going to be a busy week! My report cards are due next Monday, but I have a busy week ahead, 3 fit camps (as usual) Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday night is a big Church event (Catholic Women's League 50th anniversary at my parish) that I'm going to-being a Catholic Woman that belongs to my church! ;) :rotfl:) And Saturday evening is a huge benefit for one of the owners of my gym who was in a car crash a month ago. So basically, school and report cards have to come first! I might not get on here to update, so I blessed you with a few updates today to keep you covered! :yay: Hopefully you'll still want to read when I come back. Now watch me decide to procrastinate a whole bunch and do my trip report instead! :rotfl: Have a great week everyone!
