POP preferred or preferred pool view?

We have decided to not rent a car and have upgraded to a preferred room at POP to be closer to the buses. Lo and behold I discover there is a new category this year...preferred pool? I looked at the map and these locations look really ideal. Has anyone who has stayed in these rooms felt they were worth the extra money? Were they loud with the main pool right outside? Our main purpose would be to be closer to the buses, but being near the main pool would be a plus.

We loved our stay at POP, but I would to love of had a different room. Our room was right in front of the pool, people swim at all hours and they are very loud. I never want a pool view room again, I enjoy my sleep way to much

This is my opinion as well. I am actually happy to walk further and stay in a standard room to get a better chance of no noise.

We usually would book preferred and request that area. Yeah, you can hear people from the pool at night, or people sitting at tables right out front. We are night owls - don't even get back to our room till at least 12:30 at night, so it never bothered us 'cause we're up anyway... but yeah, you could hear people outside your room.
We think it's a very convenient area to stay in, though.... but for us, it's because we like being near the pool bar late at night and laundry room right there - of course along with close to main building and buses.

Well, IMO, there is NO way I would EVER pay EXTRA to have a preferred pool view room! LOL. I really would NOT want one at all! They are VERY noisy IMO! I found the pool in the 60's section to be the noisiest by far. And the one experience I have of the 80's/90's section that pool was horribly noisy too at 11pm...as in crazy noisy with dozens of teens. Granted it was summertime, but it was terrible. At least for us, it was too unbearable as the noise went on well past midnight. Now we normally request bldg 1 and sometimes we are facing the pool and sometimes not. But anytime we have been facing the pool, we have not found it to be noisy at all, even when we were facing the pool in June. Maybe it was luck, maybe not... I wouldn't hesitate to take a pool view room in the fifties, but not anywhere else at POP! and I have stayed there Many times. We love POP. Our next trip there next month will be in a 60's room facing the lake. I'm looking forward to it. :goodvibes

Anyone have opinions on these rooms? I was thinking maybe on the fourth floor you wouldn't hear to much noise? Anybody?

Thanks for the help everyone! I think we will stick with a preferred room with a request to be close to Classic Hall and cross our fingers for a good location. Thank you!

The last two trips we have paid extra to stay in 60s pool view. It was awesome. I am a very hard sleeper so it did not bother me at all. I am a night owl and love night emh so when we got back at 3 am or 7:00 am on leap day we did not hear a sound after going to sleep.

Preferred all the way. We faced the pool once when we stayed at ASMO and never again. We actually when we stay at pop get a standard room and just put in request.

We ended up with a preferred room last year and our location was really close. So I don't think you will be disappointed.

I was in a pool view room on the 4th flr once. The noise from the pool seemed to get louder as it climbed up to the 4th flr. They would have to pay me to stay there again. Also it's a value resort, there is no balcony so you really don't have a pool view unless you stand at your window and look through whatever giant icon is plastered on the building.
