Introduction

Hey everyone :goodvibes

So I’ve been back in the wet and windy UK for a couple of weeks now and I have just about managed to get my chin off the floor and stop my bottom lip for sticking out :sad2: so let’s get this dining review started

When?

May 12th – May 26th 2012

Where?

12th – 19th May – The Disney Fantasy

19th – 26th May – Saratoga Springs

I’ll concentrate on the WDW portion of the trip for this review but just a quick note to say, on the whole, the food on The Fantasy exceeded expections (Remy and Palo were just incredible :cloud9:)

Who?

68bf9f0f.jpg

Me (44) years old (argh how the hell did that happen )

The main, OK, the only ‘planner and laminator’ of our trips and lover of WDW, DCL, sweet treats and margaritas (although probably not quite in that order ). I don’t eat meat but I do eat fish

DH (46)

Totally goes with the flow of my over planning and is a wonderful travel partner

His favourite drink is an ice cold coke and he is the carnivore of the family

What?

No dining plan this time as we thought that after spending 7 nights on a cruise we would probably not be in the mood for a ton of food (erm we still ate a ton of food :rolleyes1) and for the first time on one of our trips we didn’t do any signature dining (we cancelled our one and only reservation, Citricos, as we just weren’t ‘feeling it’)

Any-hoo, when I was finally dragged off the ship (I don’t want to goooooooooo :sad1:) and armed with a nice long list of ‘must do snacks’ we hit the World and were ready to roll ……………………. I’d love it if you would roll along with us popcorn::

‘Let The Munching Begin’

We flew in from London the night before our cruise and spent the night in a studio villa at the Wilderness Lodge

We were both pretty shattered after our long flight so decided to just enjoy the resort for the evening before getting an early night ready for our cruise the next day :woohoo:

Dinner tonight was to be at Roaring Fork, an old favourite of ours

DH chose a burger

1/3 lb. Angus Bacon Cheeseburger - with French Fries

And I picked a Flatbread and a side salad

Individual Cheese Flatbread

There is just something about your first bite of Disney food isn’t there? :cloud9:

I’m sure that these were pretty standard plates of food but we both demolished our meals in record speed and really, really enjoyed them

As a sweet treat to end the meal we shared one of these babies

Magic Cookie Bar

OK so these are ridiculously sweet and probably cause all sorts of problems with your insulin levels but:

1. ‘we are on vacation’ and
2. ‘boy they taste good!’
