Where is my FAVORITE DCL cast member?

I was friends with Ponz on Facebook, but he disappeared off it. Also disappeared off a few others I know friends lists, so we are thinking he might have deleted Facebook. My friend did get off the Wonder today and didn't see him and my friend who was on the Magic didn't mention he was on.

Marla - you are right..his account is deactivated on FB....I wonder what happened...I didn't have a chance to ask my DH if he knew, but I would bet he wasn't even aware he was gone.

I only became aware, because my friend was cruising and wanted to find out if he was on the Wonder, which she has confirmed he wasn't. This was first Alaska cruise.

I would like to know if anyone knows if Ponz is on the Magic right now? if you are a frequent dcl cruiser you will probably know who I'm speaking of.

EVERYONE knows PONZ! He's like an Elvis (singer, AND known by his first name). I have not been on the Magic for a while ... and hope he is still with DCL. He participated in the Crew Talent Show on the 2010 EB TransAtlantic ... the audience was STUNNED! He should be an entertainer!

( it is a little bit of investigative work I'm doing) Would it be possible for you to find out once you arrive at the terminal if any upgrades are available? if you could, please report back what time your arrival time was & the upgrade availability. From Page 2, post #21:

It's easy ... contact your Travel Agent, tell them you would like to "request a server" on your upcoming cruise. If you booked your cruise with Disney Vacation Club (DVC) ... you will need to contact DVC. If you booked your cruise directly through Disney Cruise Line (DCL) ... you will need to contact DCL. HOWEVER, if you booked a cruise while onboard a ship, and referenced a Travel Agent on your reservation form, that means you "technically" booked through that Travel Agent. In this case, you will need to contact your Travel Agent.

When you make your request, supply as much information as possible. If you only know the server's FIRST name, and their home country ... that SHOULD work. However, if you know their last name ... that will help even more!

You ALSO have the ability to specify the size of the table at which you dine. If you are a party of 4, and would like to dine alone ... merely request a "tabletop" of 4. If you are a party of 2, and would like to dine with others, merely request a tabletop of 4, 6 or 8.

I am trying to find out if any upgrades are available at the terminal on the New York based cruises.

Upgrades are subjective, and vary (GREATLY) by cruise date and itinerary. So, while the ship may be at capacity for a 2-day cruise, there may be "x" staterooms available on a Bahamian cruise, and there may be "y" staterooms available on a Canadian cruise. On top of that, depending on your current reservation, there may be staterooms available that would be considered an upgrade to others, but not to you. So, if you are a Cat 11 ... there MAY be a Cat 9 available on a Canadian cruise in June, but if you are a Cat 6 ... there may not be any upgrades available on your specific cruise. In essence, as the old adage goes ... "your mileage may vary!"

I hope the above information helps. If not, you may find you can access more information by seeking "NY upgrade" or "NEW YORK upgrade" in the main thread. If you do not find the information you are seeking there, consider posting a new thread. As it is, I'd like to keep this thread on topic, relating to providing and finding information regarding DCL Cast members.

If you mean David who was club host, he doesn't work for DCL anymore. If you mean the other Dave, he doesn't work for DCL anymore either

BUMMER! He was sailing the Wonder Inaugural Alaska (May 2011) ... but as a guest ... on vacation from DCL. He was an asset to DCL! I hope he left on good terms. I would have thought he would have been absorbed onto the Fantasy. He's our favorite host!

pretty sure he left on good terms. If he went to the Fantasy then I wouldn't have met Max who was the nicest ever

I agree with Marla, David left on good terms...he also was on every DCL cruise I was on...he was the club host yet again when I was in Alaska last August. He said he wanted to do some land based activities for a while. I know he was a ski instructor over the winter.
