OT - let the chatting begin....... CHAT thread

sorry guys, I just had to share my non-Disneyland excitement with you......

.... me and DF have set a date for our Wedding!! Provisionally it's the 29th June 2013 :cool1: We are just waiting for the church to confirm that they can do that date and then it's all systems go!

We've been together for 12 1/2 years and have always put off getting married due to not being able to afford it, but we've now decided to take the plunge and just go fot it! :cloud9:

Eeeeekkkkk.... so exciting and so scary! :cheer2:

Congrats:thumbsup2

Congrats Happy Panda, enjoy all the planning (we found doing as much as poss as early as poss was a god send) and dont let the stress get to you, the next year and a bit will fly! You wont feel it till you're walking down that aisle.

On that note... I'm back from honeymoon :cool1: Got home Sunday, didnt do so well with note taking or pics so the TR will be short methinks but it was so much fun and we laughed for 11 days solid (even in the face of the most horrid hotel location ever!)

Enjoying being Mrs Q so very very much. The wedding day flew, we laughed all day. Bit sad about having to say goodbye to the friends heading back to Oz and NZ in the next few days but it was so amazing that they came home for us, we also had another two surprise us by coming home early from they're world travels, nearly crashed the car when I got the phone call the day before the wedding!

Settling back into home life (much cuddling as we missed the kids so so much) and looking forward to hitting the town this weekend for my birthday :) Life is so great right now, wishing we did it ages ago.

TY for your lovely message Carrie Cat xxx

Welcome back, glad you had a lovely wedding & honeymoon:goodvibes

Well done Shanti, my dog only lasted 2 weeks in class as he kept getting distracted & was very vocal:lmao: thankfully he is almost there now. Its true when they say Beagles are hard to train::yes::

Sorry Nikki, I'd not noticed this post before. Glad to hear your dog's almost there now. I don't think Shanti will be doing quite so well in the new class though - there's a couple of the other puppies moved up with us but she's finding the new dogs too distracting! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: my dog is always distracted but he has this thing that when he out on his walk he will lay down if another dog is coming towards him, never trained him to do it he just does:goodvibes

I am going to be in Europa Park for one day in June and was wondering if there were any touring strategies suggested? I have seen a few trip reports on the Dis from a while back and they look great. I am really excited to see this park.

Anything I should know about? Parking? What to ride first? What to avoid?

Thanks for any info. Sorry if a bit OT.

Edited to add- Group will be four adults without children. The couple driving is stationed in Germany so they know the roads.

I'd be interested in this. I've wanted to go for years but have never had a chance. We're probably going to go next year (and skip a year of Disney :sad1:)

The new hotel looks incredible, it puts Newport Bay to shame.

I just did a search and found this thread from a few years ago. Apologies if you'd already discovered it.
Thanks for any info. Sorry if a bit OT.
As this isn't specifically about DLP/Disney I'm going to move it into the Chat thread however there will be a redirect left up so that people will still see it. :)

Thx!

Yes, Germany! I am such a planner that I am having a hard time going to an amusement park without knowing much about crowd levels and how to navigate. It should be really fun though. I will for sure report back when I get home.

I have just noticed that my ticker is showing 6 months until our trip!! :cool1:

We have never booked a trip this far in advance before so I've not had this milestone to celebrate before either!

Anyone care to join me for a less than half a year to go dance...?!! :rotfl:

pixiedust: :cheer2::woohoo::yay::jumping1::yay::woohoo: :cheer2: pixiedust:

Oh, go on then. Nothing wrong with a wee dance before I go to bed :rotfl2:

:cool1::cool1::cheer2::cheer2::dancer:party:

I've ended up back on here after an hour of exam marking practice (grrrr) and trying to stop myself boring my husband about my year 11 tutor group.

They leave on Thursday, I am devastated. I love each and everyone of them. For the past 2 years I have seen them everyday for 20 minutes, and I teach most of them too - they are my bairns. I know all their quirks, see all the good things that many of their class teachers fail to see and know their dreams and aspirations. I have comforted them during some dreadful times in their lives, I've been their shoulder to cry on and supported them through their GCSE's. I am gutted that Thursday will be the last time I get to be their form tutor. :sad1:

You hear in the news all the time about how teachers don't care, don't work hard etc. Honestly - the majority of us do. It's more than a job, and I love my tutor group like they were my own.

Sob over!

:hug: for you. I agree the press always seems to want to give teachers a hard time. My youngest DD is sitting some of her GCSEs at the moment (y10) and her teachers have been very supportive giving up the first week of the Easter holidays for revision sessions and running them both before and after school.

The Tag Fairy has paid us a visit

Ive just noticed Rosebug, Carrie, Elaine and DLP dreams have got new tags - :banana:
