I was reading and typing as you were updating....

So while Drinko de Mayo was beginning, I was 36,000 feet in the air..... so while some were flying high, I was flying high..... Oh, I crack myself up!

For whatever reason, I didn't have my DME paperwork when I arrived, so I had to stand in line at the DME counter at MCO, and what is up with everyone in line having their suitcases????? Isn't the whole idea behind DME that you check your luggage and don't worry about it again until it arrives at your resort? Or are these people who are last minute DME checker inners?

So I boarded, go a seat to myself - not that I normally share a SEAT, but I guess I should say I didn't have a seatmate. Or a next door seatmate. Or basically, I didn't have to sit next to anyone.... clear?

I knew I didn't want to waste any time once I got to the resort, so I decided to apply sunscreen during the ride. Well, why not????

But I think Joe Blacksockswithsneakers sitting across the aisle from me really liked it.....

And then I listened to our driver, Chris Rock, entertain us the entire drive to BW.... OK, maybe it wasn't THE Chris Rock, but he sounded EXACTLY like him and he kept me entertained. And I was the ONLY one who tipped the poor guy when I got off at my stop, which was the FIRST stop on the ride to WDW! Why don't people tip? He was a GREAT driver, actually more of a tour guide than a shuttle driver.

I was getting texts that my girls were at the Ditch, they were at the Italian Ditch (el ditchio) and I was on a BUS with Chris Rock!!!! So I texted them back..... I'm THIRSTY!!!!!

As the first to arrive, I quickly made my way to check-in, grabbed my key, raced up to the room to drop off carry-on, and I was on my way!!!! Cammie had texted me to say that our room was ready and get this.... it was the SAME room I had in December!!!! Out of all the gin joints..... I mean, out of all the rooms at BWV, how crazy to get the exact same one as just 5 months ago!!!!

Soon I saw THIS!

I get another text.... "we are heading to the new wine bar in Italy." So I text back, "Meet me at the International Gateway, I'm almost there!" To which I get......

"We're already here (Italy)."

Dang! When I said flying high I wasn't kidding! To go from Mexico to Italy in less than 30 seconds is WAAAAAY impressive!!!!!

I hustled..... well, not disco style. da da da da da da da da da... do the hustle! OK, who got up from their desk and did the dance?????

And soon I was HERE!!!!

It's time! Time to get DISmoms 4 underway!!!!!

It's truly amazing the absolute flood of people RUNNING to the Land in the morning for this ride. It ain't no kids game!

First, that is one ridiculously huge balcony! Is that a corner room?

Second, I am the designated Soarin' runner. I leave my slow poke family in the dust, race to Soarin', grab fast passes for everyone and then when their slow selves FINALLY get there, we jump on the standby line. This way, we ride twice with no significant wait.

Third, Fourth and Fifth - Yum! Tequila!

I hustled..... well, not disco style. da da da da da da da da da... do the hustle! OK, who got up from their desk and did the dance?????

Ok, now I didn't dance. But I did start singing the song as soon as I saw the word "hustle". Thankfully, my office door is closed.

There's a parade in the restaurant- there's also the music and drums elsewhere in the resort (both Jambo & Kidani) at different times of day. I hope you'll try AKV someday, Karin! It's very exotic and has SOOOOO much going on everyday. A special place for sure. Cammie did not enjoy staying there, but Lonnie, Kara & I LOVE it!

I can somehow remember the parade, but I had completely forgotten about it!
And we have stayed at AKL before, in a regular savannah room (actually sat out Hurricane Charlie in there ) and we would love to go back some day soon, but you know, OKW is having a strong grip on us.

LOVE all the DVC merchandise - I guess some shopping is in order for me. YES, I do wear that kind of thing!

Your Epcot day sounds FUN so far! Riding Soarin to start the day! and the Ditch and the Wine Bar! You girls ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear details on the wine bar. We love some of the wines we've had in the small shop in Italy.

What did you do about bringing adult beverages onboard ship with you? On our next cruise, I think we will first 'cruise' around Epcot and buy some wines around World Showcase.

Also, Ellen I have to thank you for a previous trip report where you mentioned Sum of All Thrills. We wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for you. And yes, I hit the WIMP button first time out. Not anymore though!! Double loop for this momma!

Tonight’s dinner was at Sanaa- should I say, as usual? Since it has opened, I don’t think there has been a trip where we did not have dinner here. We just all enjoy it THAT much- I think that personally, this was my 6th or 7th visit- I have been here more than any other WDW restaurant (unless you count all the yogurt parfaits I used to get at BC Marketplace!). Just LOVE it!
Anyway…Lonnie drove us over, we parked in TIMON, and we made our entrance-

We were just a couple of minutes late, which is pretty good for us, but you always have to wait here, so we went outside to enjoy the animals.

By the way, I forgot to mention that it was HOT while we were on this vacation. Would I say Africa hot? Well…no, not anymore, because the CM who was working outside that day was telling us how CRAZY hot she thought Florida was. Much, MUCH hotter than Africa, unBEARABLY hot, said the CM. Who was, you know, from Africa. We asked her how long she had been at Disney, and her tour had begun in November- she still had her first summer coming up.

Well, good luck with THAT there, sister!

Soon it was time for some yumminess to commence-

We began with the usual- flying lessons! We love to fly the friendly skies!!

That one was mine. Everyone else went with the next one. I would just like to say, that of my 3, that last one- the Missing Virgin- one of the BEST red wines I have had the pleasure of enjoying. I found the missing virgin- and I really, REALLY loved her! So much so, I question her virginity at all at this point! Maybe now she is just Missing Virginity wine instead...

Headed for the Wine Bar...ladies after my own heart...the Cabernet Sauvignon..with the black berry fruit and dark chocolate description...looks and sounds heavenly. I do want to ask three questions though if you gals don't mind sharing. Was this a pairing for the food or a wine sampler set? How much did the set cost?...not worried about price, but want to compare to here in Japan.

Last question...what kind of glasses were the wines served in? Looks like they were all served in the same size glass( maybe white wine glasses).
Don't mean for that to sound snobbish...I mean I will drink my wine out of a red solo cup if thats all thats available, but I do prefer Burgandy style glass for reds...for me it makes a big difference.

Anyway let's get to the bar in Italy.

So we made an executive decision, and decided that since tomorrow was Cinco de Mayo and we would be at Epcot all day, we would take tonight off and do the unthinkable- go to bed early.

THATS IT I have put my foot down, I can not handle your lack of disrespect for those of us not on vacation. 1st you dont drink all your absolut, now you pass by a bar... thats it.. I have made the decission.. next Dismoms meet Im there.. show you people how you really get down!

Because not only could we see Spaceship Earth (or what Lonnie & Pam referred to as "the big ball" ) we had scored one of the HUGEST balconies BCV has-
I admit we call it the golf ball

It's the mornin! And we are up EARLY (for us- in WDW- it is 7 or 7:30). We realize that if we shower up fast (which most of us can do) we can make rope drop- which also means we'll get to ride Soarin! We NEVER make rope drop on these trips, so Joanie & I are pretty excited. But when 8:55 comes around....well, not everyone is ready.
hmm not sure if i would have been that ready... but you know me I dont sleep in on vacation so I wuld have been up at the crack of lol

I am really looking forward to riding Soarin in DL next summer- after we have just been to San Francisco and Yosemite, I think it will be even MORE special
we never rode it in WDW.. does everyone cheer?? cuz in Cali there is clapping, and pointing out hey thats where i live... or been there etc. .

And I dropped my danish, and my dear Joanie went and got me a new one- thanks, Mom.

The reason we're concerned? Joanie and I were going to shoot over to MK for a quick visit- to see the new stuff during the day, AND to try that new spicy chicken waffle at Sleepy Hollow (because that sounded sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yummy for lunch!).

But we have FPs for Lonnie & Pam. That need to be used, and soon. Because at WDW, they are now enforcing FP times.
oh that sucks.. so far they arent in Dland/Cali

But....we made someone else VERY happy- AND...it was Flower & Garden, so all was good!

I think it was right around when we got off SOAT that we FINALLY got a text from Lonnie- they were in Sunshine seasons! In the park! Where were we?

We all decided to meet up in Norway to ride it like a Viking before going to our main destination- MEXICO!! For Drinko de Mayo!!!

I had gotten a bunch of flashy Rita pins for all of us PLUS Manntra (who we REALLY missed) PLUS all of our favorite bartenders in the Ditch. They were a big hit on Cinco de Mayo! Then we passed-

But, because it was Drinko-de-Mayo, we had limited time to spend with him or any of our other buddies, because today, there was no drinking at the bar- we had to move to a table!
limited time? why cuz it was packed or were they just not allowing lingering? geez dont they know when people linger around the bar they are more appt to repurchase drinko's

But, I gave all those bartenders Flashy Ritas before I sat down.

And I do love my wine! I need to branch out more and try different kinds. I stick to my beloved whites. I've only ever tried a sweet RED wine. What do you recommend?
