DISmoms 4 - The Hunt for Jack Sparrow

So, ok Captain Obvious, the next MUST DO on our short list was-

35045530000-1.jpg

Not once. Not twice. But THREE times- all in the front row! :yay: Now THAT'S what I'm talkin about!!! :dance3: What was really cool was that Joan's cousin was actually riding with us this time- in the past, he has always been working when we've seen him at the park.

032.jpg

Smile and say Cheese RnRC Parking attendant!

031.jpg

Right around the time we were purchasing the download of one of our pics, I ot a text from Lonnie- she had finally made it to the park with Pam, who was also somewhere on RnRC (Lonnie doesn't ride this ride. I think it must involve a puddle). Joan's cousin had to get going- he was going to see Nickleback that night. But maybe we'll see him again on this adventure...ya never know.

We were introduced to our new friend, Pam, and off we went to explore- this was Pam's first time in the park, so imagine how THRILLED we were when someone handed us FPs for TSMM!!

033.jpg

034.jpg

I kicked Joan's butt on this one!

035.jpg

I beat them all! I ROCK! :rotfl:

037.jpg

Well, at least in my own vehicle, I rock. Everywhere else, I'm kind of MEH.

040.jpg

Next we had to hit Animation- you know we love us some drawing class.

042.jpg

We were VERY VERY lucky- we literally were the last 4 people to get seats. It was actually kind of baffling- the park was not crowded at all, but the drawing class was. I guess word has gotten out on Animation.

The only downside to being the last 4 in the door was that we were not seated at desks, but in the back against the wall, balancing the drawing on our laps. No complaints from us, though! Although I will say, it was alot harder to draw this way- add in the fact that it's hard to see the screen from back there, and I guess you could say we're lucky we could draw anything recognizable at all! Look at Joanie trying to see what's going on-

043.jpg

044.jpg

We had the pleasure of drawing Pluto this time- I guess I've done this alot now, because I'm starting to repeat the characters- this is my second Pluto.

046.jpg

I like Joan's better-

CRAP!!! I just lost my whole post!!

I HATE it when that happens!!! You are keeping me busy at work today -- very slow and I need me some TR to read! BTW, I think we lost something else....those drawings!! Any idea where we left them?:confused3

Next up- we walked over to Star Tours. On the way, I stopped to pay my respects to Dick Clark, who had just passed away-

047.jpg

Then it was time for Who wants to be a Jedi? No...that's not right...

048.jpg

Well, I can tell you Pam wanted to be a Jedi, but we had other plans-

050.jpg

Star Tours was a BIG hit for us- and Lonnie even rode it, because there's no puddles in outerspace so she felt SAFE! I was SO HAPPY to be on a ride with her! :woohoo: But of all of us, I think Pam enjoyed this ride the most- she was hootin and hollerin like she was....INSANE.....Joanie enjoyed this ride the second most, largely due to the extreme enthusiasm and passion of Pam's ride. :scared1:

Back in a minute- having PB issues-

051.jpg

Next, we went over to

052.jpg

It was not only Pam's first time, but also Joanie's- in fact, Joanie was 100% convinced that THIS

053.jpg

was the whole ride. ::yes:: Yep! That's TRUE!! Next it was time to visit NYC-

054.jpg

And I got excited to see the Golden Gate Bridge a whole year earlier than I planned-

057.jpg

Who knew NY & San Fran were so close? Sure hope it's that fast next summer when I fly there!

We were sadly done with DHS at this point, because it was time to head to dinner- at our favorite restaurant that NEVER disappoints, SANAA! :yay: Next!

we didn't lose it- I have it- I'll give it to you next time I see you!! How's the hubby?

Yea- I know I should write it in word first, but I hate plugging the pics in from PB that way- it's very time consumming, and I like to post pics as i write, not plug them in afterwards. UGH.

YAY! Thanks for joining the craziness!!

We took Allison to Muppet 3D when she was 3 years old. She didn't want to do it, because she wanted to do something else. But her parents being born in the 70's and watching the Muppet Show every night it was on during their little kid lives HAD to see it.

Long story short, she has never forgiven us for it. She clings to the fiction that she hates the Muppets or anything she perceives as Muppet like and will have nothing to do with them. Needless to say, when we sail on the Fantasy this August her butt is being left in the Edge while the rest of us do the Muppet Mid-ship Detective Agency.

Sorry you lost one of your post .... I really DO NOT like it when that happens!

I just love your updates, it looks like you had a blast. Did I miss ToT in there somewhere? But RnRC made up for it!
And how lucky to be handed TSM fastpasses and beating everyone else too! :thumbsup2

You did accomplish a lot in that one day. And now you are off to Sanaa ... can't wait until it is our time again. ;)

Yay for TR updates!! Makes returning to work a little easier after a 3-day weekend.

Happy I could help! :goodvibes Hey- thanks for posting those Navigators for the Fantasy Eastern on your blog! When I have a little more time I'll go read them! :thumbsup2

That's REALLY funny! :rotfl: She's a silly girl, though- because the detective stuff on the Dream was SO CUTE- I would imagine the Muppet one will be a lot of fun that she's going to miss out on. It really is amazing what Disney can do!

FWIW, in my family of big strong men- when they were 3, they were all TERRIFIED of ALL the 3D movies- we tried for years, and always inevitably have to run out during the movie with one (if not all) of them freaking out and crying! A little too much sensory overload, I guess. The Honey I Shrunk the Audience one was the worst- if I remember correctly, it was YEARS before we could convince Timmy he would not actually be shrunk going into the theatre! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi Karin! Thanks- I just LOVE your updates, too!! And no- you did not miss ToT- I only ride that when i'm with someone else who really wants to- like Kara- I LOVE RnRC, but while I think ToT is very cool and incredibly well themed, that drop kind of freaks me out. :scared1: :rotfl:

And Sanaa was great- I should be able to get some of that post up today or tomorrow!:thumbsup2

She loves Mickey Philharmagic, so 3D stuff is o.k. with her. I just think she has been holding a grudge against us for the last 8 years because we made her do something she didn't want to do.

She is extremely stubborn and opinionated. I have no idea where she gets that from. :rolleyes1

I always enjoy reading your reports. Good news for us DH and I are going down in Oct for food and wine. Going to be sad without kids though.

Get to Jack Sparrow! Get to Jack Sparrow!

Oh, and am I the only person here who actually envies our fellow DISer who recognized you at Starring Rolls? I swear the day I see you in the parks, my family will be heading the other way claiming they don't know me at all!

Love the updated the photo of your trio of boys too. How is it we turn around, and suddenly our kids are all growed up? :confused3

I usually post my TR's on 3-4 boards and write them in word...it's easy to put the pics in there. I just write and when I come the where I want to post a picture I copy the IMG code and paste it there. Some versions of word will turn it into a hyper link, so I just go back and right click on the link and "remove hyperlink" before I post it. It's really easy....I lost too many posts in the past and it drove me crazy

Well...good luck with that! But she really is going to miss out! :rotfl: Is there a second adventure on the Fantasy like there is on the Dream?

SAD WITHOUT THE KIDS?????? Have we taught you nothing????? :scared1: I think one of our favorite lines on this trip was "Whose idea was it to invite all these kids, anyway?" :rotfl: You'll miss them, you'll see things you know they would enjoy, but they can do that on another visit. THIS one's for you & your DH- all the cool stuff Disney offers that just CAN'T be done with kids in tow. NO GUILT!! JUST FUN!! :thumbsup2

im sorry all I can think of when i see the title is that bit from saturday night live--but my hunch is that michael bolton wasn't with you...:rotfl:

OMG Laura! I couldn't get your link to work, but was able to google it and figure out what you were talking about.

Umm...NO...we did not encounter Michael Bolton on this trip- unless he moonlights on Castaway Cay!pirate:

Ok a Disney dad is going to sneak in and sit in the backrow, hoping he doesn't get noticed or kicked out:3dglassespopcorn::

We are definitely not the She-woman man-haters club. Welcome to the estrogen fest.:rotfl:

OMG- that made me laugh and laugh! :rotfl: If you want the Captain, you're gonna have to be PATIENT! It's not called a HUNT for NOTHIN!!!:rotfl:

Can't wait til the day you find ME in the parks- is this an event I'll need a bodyguard for, or are you planning a low-impact attack? :lmao:

And I KNOW about the kids- that pic was from this Easter- I love it, but the thing that's missing is me standing next to them- a good 5 inches shorter than everyone AT LEAST. It does go so fast!

It does make sense- I was forgetting that I could keep Word open in a half-window- let me see how it goes for my next post-Thanks, Jen!:flower3:

Tonight’s dinner was at Sanaa- should I say, as usual? Since it has opened, I don’t think there has been a trip where we did not have dinner here. We just all enjoy it THAT much- I think that personally, this was my 6th or 7th visit- I have been here more than any other WDW restaurant (unless you count all the yogurt parfaits I used to get at BC Marketplace!). Just LOVE it!
Anyway…Lonnie drove us over, we parked in TIMON, and we made our entrance-

063.jpg

064.jpg

We were just a couple of minutes late, which is pretty good for us, but you always have to wait here, so we went outside to enjoy the animals.

065.jpg

067.jpg

068.jpg

By the way, I forgot to mention that it was HOT while we were on this vacation. Would I say Africa hot? Well…no, not anymore, because the CM who was working outside that day was telling us how CRAZY hot she thought Florida was. Much, MUCH hotter than Africa, unBEARABLY hot, said the CM. Who was, you know, from Africa. We asked her how long she had been at Disney, and her tour had begun in November- she still had her first summer coming up.

Well, good luck with THAT there, sister!:rolleyes1

Soon it was time for some yumminess to commence-

069.jpg

070.jpg

We began with the usual- flying lessons! We love to fly the friendly skies!!:cloud9:

073.jpg

That one was mine. Everyone else went with the next one. I would just like to say, that of my 3, that last one- the Missing Virgin- one of the BEST red wines I have had the pleasure of enjoying. I found the missing virgin- and I really, REALLY loved her! So much so, I question her virginity at all at this point! Maybe now she is just Missing Virginity wine instead...
