Hello and :welcome: to my Spring Break Photo Trip Report! This is a mini report from my full Spring Break Report and this is all about the Food!

Our family is a family of Foodies and we often try to take advantage of the FD offered. I know some feel it's not worth the cost but to our family, the Numbers Add up! So come along, look at photos, get pricing and our reviews!!

I have been to Disney a number of time, 29 to be exact! The last few trips we have tried to only go to restaurant that were new to us. It's getting harder and harder. So this trip we hit we hit several new place and a couple of re-dos.

We were at Disney March 23-April 1. Party of 5, myself, DH, DD18, DS15 and DS friend, also 15.

We stayed at POR (full trip report link on signature). Least expensive for 5. Our rate was $259.00 weekends, peak season with 5 and I think $229.00 weekday. Even if we had used a 30% discount code on our most expensive day it would only save us $78.00. Lets get started and add the numbers!!:thumbsup2

First up:

Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery

DSC_9847.jpg

Located in AK, back by Tusker House. A quick place to grab a pastry or Coffee.

My DD and I were on a mission. Both of us have a major sweet tooth and were ready for a late breakfast and we knew exactly what we were after! So off to the bakery we went.

Once we arrived we got a little worried as we waited in line, we peeked in the back and we didn’t see what we wanted.:worried:

We didn’t panic but very nicely asked for a White Elephant. We were told they were served about noon, and it was only about 10is. I think the look on our face must have been bad because the cast member said she would go in back and see what she could do and to our delight our sweet wish was granted!! YUM!!! Hubby had blueberry muffin...

DSC_0090.jpg

Very moist and the elephant is made out of white chocolate so it’s like two sweets in one!!!

Due to the time of day, the White Elephant Cupcake is not the menu, however the price is $3.99. Blue Berry Muffin, $2.79

So far using 3 snack credits total is 3.99x2+2.79=$10.77

Great start! I had that same cupcake in December and I am in love. :lovestruc That was so great that they let you get it a little early too. Can't wait to read more!

I'm in! Loving your TR, so I might as well join in here too :) Bring on the yummies! popcorn::

I have never heard of this white elephant cupcake you speak of! What is it? I am intrigues bc of the cute little elephant!

Wait...which one is you and which is the 18 year old daughter? Your family is beautiful! WOW, 5 in the room at POR with free dining...amazing deal! We did 4 in the room at CSR last summer and it felt like such a steal!

Can't wait to have a white elephant cupcake in August! And I look forward to reading the rest of your report.

Glad to see you here too! How funny! I've noticed that if I post a resort photo, I get about 150 views on it but if I come over here to the food board, I get 800 views! What does that say about us! Disney food is great!!!

More on the way!!

I have never heard of this white elephant cupcake you speak of! What is it? I am intrigues bc of the cute little elephant!

It is YUMMY! And like I said the elephant is made of chocolate like a lollipop, so it's a two in one treat!!! It's a must try if you like sweets!

Wait...which one is you and which is the 18 year old daughter? Your family is beautiful! WOW, 5 in the room at POR with free dining...amazing deal! We did 4 in the room at CSR last summer and it felt like such a steal!

You are too funny, feel free to keep talking all you want!!!:thumbsup2:lmao::thumbsup2

This was about $900.00 less than we would have had to spend at WC so it worked for us. We were in the room very little so no biggie. I've been in every moderate now and I have to say, I loved CSR!!! It felt the most deluxe to me and we had a great room location!!! I'm learning location matters to me the more trips I make!

Welcome to everyone!!! More to come!

You are off to a great start and I can't wait to read the rest of your reviews!

I have never been to Krusafiri. I think sometimes I miss the little places here and there and I need to pay better attention to details, because I may find something amazing like the white elephant! :hippie:

Count me in on this report, and thanks for the tip about that cupcake. Looks very yum, I'm sure I'll have to try one. :rotfl:

I can't get over the giant 15 year old. Wow - he is TALL!

Looking forward to following along. And wishing I had a cupcake right about now.

Cupcake and muffin looks delicious. We are paying a visit to AK in August so might have to give them a try.

We research deeply before we go and try to map out our dining. We love cupcakes and are hitting several cupcake stores in the KC area so we thought it would be fun to hit the cupcakes of DW while we were there!

Love the elephant cupcake!

We did too!!!:goodvibes

It's on my must do list now!

Wait...which one is you and which is the 18 year old daughter?QUOTE]

LOL, I was wondering the same thing! You and your daughter look like young sisters!

Beautiful family :)

Thanks! I guess all the cupcakes keep me young!:rotfl:

See why my family are foodeis?!?! Big!! My DH is 6'7 and DS15 is 6'3. They need food! I had lost 30 lbs before going to DW by staying away from all they yummies...I wish I had a cupcake too!!!

Great start! Just added the white elephant cupcake to my list of "must try" for our next trip :)

We headed over toward the Tusker House for our lunch reservation. When we made the reservations at 180 days prior, if you ate before a certain time, you would get preferred seating to the Finding Nemo show. Win, win so we did it. Had never been here before and not a “must try place”, just something new.

We arrived and had about a ½ hour wait. Donald is seen outside before you go into eat. Photo opportunities are available for everyone while waiting.

DSC_00878.jpg

Once inside we were seated and our server was soon at our table. Very nice and the best part of our experience. When we asked about the preferred seating for the show, we were told in January they had done away with that and now it was a charterer dining location. Rats! So on to the meal:
Buffet style, several stations and good selection, not great but good. Food was slightly different in the selection but that was expected.

You can see the complete Dis boards information here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=267

Price: $35.99 per adult x 5=$179.95 (no tax or tip)

Location was clean but we did feel like the tables were very close together and crowded. Nice atmosphere. Not our favorite location to head back to. Our family gave it a 5 out of 10.

We did get to see Mickey,

Minnie(no photo) and Goofy,

DSC_00875.jpg

The boys each got an ice cream cone that I didn't get a photo of which was $3.50 each so our total is $197.72 for day one so far.

Up next DTD!

Tusker House looks so neat inside....I'll have to put that on the list for next trip with DS. Not enough time this July :(

I love the Tusker House, we usually do lunch as well. For some reason I just really love it, and it has something for all of us! We have never seen characters at lunch, though! Is that new?
