I am wondering if all the bad reviews are true or is it not as bad as some make it look? I found it for 66 a night (an has all i requier. sounds good and everything but the reviews kinda make me scared to try it
(art is right out side so we still have our way to the park)

We stayed here about five years ago, we won't be going back. the rooms
were of decent size, but appeared "well used", beds were a bit
uncomfortable, kinda lumpy. the room we were in had two queen beds and
a pull out sofa sleeper. showers were luke warm at best, the toilet backed-up several times,
we had to call the front desk to have it cleaned up. the pool is extremely
small and parking is very limited.

Here are some reviews

Jade, have you thought about doing a Priceline Hotel? you may be able to get a 3.5 star hotel for around that ....

somebody on here just posted they were canceling one of their entertainment room rates at $59 a night for during the time you will be there i think...you should get in touch with them:)

ive been on all the online sites today hotels.com got me that rate but its not worth it to cancle and save 100bucks if that one is sooo bad, i mean i just cant fathem it. I will check price line again tho. thanks if nothing works less then travleloge im saying there

Yes, check betterbidding.com and then check out priceline and hot-wire if you need something super cheap. Lastminutetravel.com has good bargains too and it is super easy to figure out which hotel it is (at least for Disney it is since I recognize most of them in the pictures!). We got the Red Lion on price line for $50 bucks, but I think they go for a pretty good price regularly and sometimes through regular booking engines it includes breakfast and parking fees. Good luck!

I stayed at the Ramada maingate at Katella and Harbor in March of last year, and it was a perfectly nice hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

I called the Ramada at the Convention Center earlier today and they commented that they have been doing a remodeling project to the rooms (done by floor) for the past couple months. They only construct/remodel during to day to avoid interfering with guests sleeping.

This leads me to conclude that some of the rooms will be nicer than others, but some noise is to be expected in the daytime. Shouldn't bother those who will be in the parks all day :goodvibes

im checking other places ramada maingate north, this one and on the sites mintioned above.

I am gona talk to my mom and dad and see how much saving 100 would be worth to them. At least the ramadas have hot breakfast(something my dad and mom would like more then cold stuff)

also if i can call and make sure to request one the new rooms it may be worth it.
Both Ramada and travel lodge will use art so that doesn't hurt us in any way.

Im just trying talk to fam before we make any changes.

I mentioned this before that if you have a car you can often get the Radisson Suite Resort 5 miles away near Knotts (Hwy 91/Beach Blvd) for $65-$85. Two bedroom suite, hot breakfast, very nice hotel. They do have a free shuttle bus that runs to/from DL but generally leaves a bit after park opening and returns a bit before park closing...meaning you can't do early morning or stay open-close. This may change from season to season, not sure. If interested PM me and I'll explain how to get decent rates here using Hotwire and codes.

Hubby says 100bucks is 100bucks and breakfast sounds much better here and son still get sleeper sofa, so if mom and dad agree we will make it Ramada convention center or travel lodge))

TY Huff but we want to use art not drive if we can. I already bought the art buss tickets too. Is the shuttle service art? do they have breakfast?

Radisson Suites shuttle is their own and free. Yes they have free breakfast buffet which has made to order omelettes/eggs, pancakes, cereals, fruit, hash browns etc. The only problem I've seen is that the shuttle leaves once in the morning and returns once at night so flexibility isn't there like you'll have with ART which runs to/from every 15 minutes or so. We have our own car and parking at DLR is free with our AP's so makes a good choice for us. Otherwise we use priceline for a Harbor/Katella area hotel but that only works for 2 people. Sounds like you'll be fine with your choice.

Nothing wrong with Ramada Maingate - in fact its a great place to stay - my favorite of any of the popular Sth harbor Hotels

If you read her other threads on this topic, she is referring to Ramada Limited Main Gate North, which is a different property than the Ramada Inn Maingate that's right across the street from the parks.

sounds to me the only good remada is the one across the street. the others are remoldeling good maybe another time, but this time my dad who said we would be cramped with money has told me to just stay at travel lodge and lets not take a chance of dumbing down our Vaca so we can have fun it also has a big pool and mom wants a pool
