2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

We are surprising the kids in October and the more we think about it we will want to tell them that morning before heading to the airport since someone at the airport will mention Orlando. Our kids are smart and will start putting it all together.

So, we are looking for maybe a video that we can personalize and play for them after breakfast. Maybe like the personal Santa Videos around Christmas but will Mikey or Goofy or another Disney character.

Any suggestions?

Can you schedule a character call for a resort stay? That's what we did for our cruise when we surprised our boys, but I can't remember if you can do that for WDW. (We are DVC, so I don't know what the folks with "regular" reservations can get, LOL.)

Hi from the Yacht Club! Plane landed @ 10:20 & we were checking in by 11:20. Room wasn't ready, but we didn't care coz we were headed out to MK anyway. MK seemed crowded, but wait times wren't too bad. Got a text around 2 that room was ready. We are 5th floor, almost as ar from the lounge as we can get, but that doesn't bother us. Heard some music from the pool but only if the TV is off. With my DH that never happens anyway. Sunny & warm this afternoon but poured by 6. rained t about 9. Had a delish dinner @ Yachtsman's. Sam was a wonderful waiter, very friendly! Epcot for Flower & Garden tomarrow .

I just want everything to be perfect for our girls first trip to WDW so am probably a little too worried

msherriffm, I know others addressed the substance of your post so I won't say more about that - just wanted to add a hug for you. I've been planning trips for my family and others since I was a teenager, and part of the reason I love it so much is that I am content knowing that it won't ever be perfect. All you can do is take the time to think, research and plan as you're doing now. I do that for all types of vacations - make lots of lists, always a book with pictures and descriptions for our youngest, daily 3x5 cards for the older boys with plans, reservations, etc. But then when we hop in the car or on the plane, I just enjoy knowing that I've done all I could to make it great! And some things will go according to plan and some will not, so I always plan to be flexible!

So hope you can relax and enjoy the planning - let us know if there is anything else we can try to do to help along the way!

Can't believe I only have 3 months to plan now - but I know I can make it happen with all the great resources here and elsewhere on the DIS!!
I'm feeling like I may be a little less productive at work over the next 3 months

Thanks! My TA helped out by supplying the park maps, stickers and mickey glitter. The shirt and autograph book were from the Disney Parks section of disneyshopping.com. And the sign I made in Word with the CR logo.

I would love to sneak a trip in this summer, but do not want to plan for it as our summer is crazy. I keep telling DH we could just hop in the car and drive if we couldn't get airfare at last minute - he thinks I am crazy.

And it looks like you are going to be in Disney soon! Sounds like a plan for your anniversary! Feel like food and wine would be some much more fun now that kids are older or could just go without them! Our 25th is in December 2014.

Ours is September 2015!!

Oh I think you should sneak in this summer................if for just a long weekend!!! We leave here next Friday, and the way our year has been going we REALLY need this vacation!!!

I was at BC over Easter.. My family and I had a great vacation. I meant to get back to the boards sooner but busy with end of school, dance competitions and now a broken foot.

I hope all went well at doctor appointment and that you had an excellent vacation. We enjoyed meeting you and having a friend to look forward to talking to.

We ended up splitting our stay and heading over to Poly for our last 2 nights. The pool closing was not that bad but it was fun to see the poly again.

cant wait to get back. I have three friends that are arriving next week.

I was thinking about a quick return but now my DD has a cast. Not sure how that would affect things.

As promised, here are the pics from the barber shop. We got home at 1:30am today - so tired!

Great trip, though I was unimpressed w/housekeeping as mentioned before. They never cleaned our room before 2pm but yesterday, when we requested a late checkout they were knocking at 11am telling me they didn't have it on their list... urgh.

We were in room 1544, and loved being so close to Epcot. Also had the opportunity to see Merida from the new movie Brave... very cool queue. We stopped because I wanted pics with my dd... who loves archery also. Enjoy!

So I have obsessively been reading this thread since booking our trip.

I just told DH I am not sure I can wait another 43 days and I may have to add a day or two on the front of the trip because I just want to be there.

ohhh... I did ask him what he thought if maybe I just spend the summer at BC( I teach so no work in the summer) He did not seem to open to this idea Not my fault I told him 13 years ago to become a teacher. Then he could stay too

Hi! I'm Amy and we are planning a Sept. visit and staying at the BC. I just stayed at YC on an AEP trip and I LOVED it, but I was with all adults and it just didn't seem like the best fit for my kids. The location is amazing and we are making some plans that will make up for not being super close to MK (we usually stay at the Poly).

Looking forward to chatting about BC and learning more about how awesome it is!!

Good news: I just returned from my six month check-up at the Mayo Clinic and I'm good to go until the Fall. I was sweating today big time and now I can really enjoy this upcoming trip to Jeanne's! My Bob is so wonderful to drive me all the way up there and back in one day!

Feeling a bit down today - we had to have one of our lovely cats put to sleep today - so thought I would just check-in and see whats been going on. The new Fastpass sounds interesting but a bit of a planner disrupter!?

While I'm slowly counting down the 6 months till I'm down in WDW and at the BC (6 months from right now I'll be at AK or getting ready to head over there....) I've been searching for photos of the Beach Club. One I have been unable to find is a view of a room with a king bed. All I can seem to find is room pictures of the queen beds.

Anyone able to help me see the lay out of a room with a King Bed?

Oh Oh I can help!! DH and I stayed in a King Size bed last Oct. LOVED IT!!

We're all booked to stay Sept 9-16. It'll be our first time staying at the Beach Club, excited & nervous at the same time!

You will LOVE IT!!! The ONLY reason we are staying at WL this next time is because DH and I promised we would try a new resort this time. But we've both agreed we are going back for Dec. 2013 no.matter.what!!! I'm hoping for CL that trip.

Is it to early to book a CL room at YC for Nov 2013?

Like PP said you can book the room with 2012 rates and when 2013 rates come out (probably around July and August) you can make a true package/ room only ressie with the correct rates.

Oops! I just realized that I never posted my changes for the Be Our Guest List. With all of my changes, I really shouldn't even ask to be listed until I know for SURE where I will be. Sorry to be a bother.

We are now at YC-CL from 6/2-6/5 to kick off our 4 way CL split. If it's not too much of a bother, can you please update my info.
