Vacation Rentals?

Anyone know of any good ones nearby DLR? I'm sure there are none walking distance but are there any near ART stops?

From lurking and reading here for a while, it seems GCH, DLH and HOJO are among the top picks so of course I will be checking those dates but I have had such incredible luck with VRBO in the past for other vacations I thought it might be an avenue to explore.

Am I crazy? Is this even really an option?

Have you tried looking at VRBO in the Anaheim area? I have read posts from some here that face found rentals on there within walking distance.
There is also a Disney themed house that is pretty pricey...maybe good for large groups.

I have! That's why I ask. I'm seeing some really nice things for great prices and they say they're in walking distance but I feel like it must be to good to be true.

Thank you for showing me that thread. That's just the kind of feedback I was looking for. People who have actually done it, or at least read about others that have. ;)

I was born and raised in the area. I live up north now.
If you want to send the links of the homes you like, I can take a look and provide feedback.
I haven't personally rented a house in the area though.

There's a Wyndham on the corner of Katella and Harbor, some people might be renting units in there on VRBO.

If a trip you're planning is 7 months out there's always the Villas at the Grand Californian as well. There are points rental instructions on the DVC Rent/Trade board here on the DIS as well as another site that allows individual users to post point rentals as well, if you want to google the other forum.

If you look at this wikimapia map:

On the left middle of the map, there's a condo complex. You'll notice it by the pools in the middle of the complex. There are a lot of rentals in VRBO in that complex. I have one reserved for October, so when I get back, I'll be able to tell you how convenient it is. But the information I've gotten from the landlord says that it's a 5 minute walk to get to the parking tram at the M&F and Pinocchio lots. Looking at the map, I believe it. ::yes:: I'll let you know.

We rented a house near the convention center 2 years ago and it was walking distance. It's listed on homeaway.com. We had a group of 20 so if you aren't looking for a place for a large group.

Thanks taaren! I would love to stay at the Villas someday, but I'll be honest, the DVC board intimidates me. :worship: When I have more time someday, maybe I could try to learn how it works, but for now I just feel like all other options would be less complicated for me.
