Does someone know the current minimum contract that Disney is selling these days and how much per point? Is it all the same at every resort they're selling? And which resorts still have points open for buying from Disney? Thanks. Just looking to make $ comparisons to resale.

160 minimum AK / 125$ a point as of March. I heard thats going to 130$ on on or around April 20.

There have been multiple reports in the past couple of weeks that Disney has made 50 points the minimum for all resorts, add-on or new memberships.

Hmm, 50 at boardwalk at $115 is the same as buying a resale of 115 points for $50, not totally unreasonable to get at that price. Not so attractive now, I guess.

Trying to compare my total outlay for direct vs resale.

I didn't realize buying direct had much cheaper closing costs, course it was 11 years ago when I bought.

Disney has been known not to deal but the truth is, depending on your offer, they want your money and can make exceptions.

We have told them what we want, they said no, we said no, and a couple weeks later they called telling us that "they normally don't sell below the minimum but because we are special, they will make an exception".

I believe that I have told more people about buying resale then most people have said anything about the benefits of direct.

The sticky thing with telling people about resale is that it crosses into personal finance territory, as in "you can buy for half the price but you need cash." Then maybe their face drops and they stammer about how they'd feel better going through Disney because they can trust them. Then you say that TSS has a financing program that's similar in price to Disney, but maybe they've already been sold on Disney's loan not showing up on their credit as a debt.

It's not that people shouldn't be well informed, but it can get uncomfortable.
