question about booking an 11B on the Magic

I think i read somewhere that these rooms are only booked as a guaranty status. Is that correct? I know disney can assign this room anywhere but if it is linked to 2 other rooms which are side by side will they make any effort to put the 11B in close proximity? We have 2 balcony rooms on 5 and the 11B rooms are on decks 5 & 6.

I know they don't have to consider the link but I am asking if anyone in the past has had this experience. Thanks everyone!

I was able to book an 11B directly through my TA. I've done it twice, and strangely, it's the same room number on two different ships!

I believe that linked rooms relates primarily to dining...to ensure you are seated together. It doesn't necessarily mean cabins will be near each other. GTY rooms are assigned based on the number of people in each life boat section, number of rooms filled in certain areas of the ship, etc.

I had another family travel with us one time...we had an assigned cabin, and they had GTY. Even though we were linked, they were put on a totally different deck than us.

No, that is not correct. There are not stateroom categories that are sold as only GTYs.

I've always chosen my cabin when booking an 11B on all four ships now (but I'm talking about booking early before QTY statuses are in place).
