So this is a new experience for me - we cruised on the Dream last July and I didn't even write a regular trip report. So here we go - planning our sort of last minute July 7th Fantasy sailing to the Western Caribbean....

"We" consists of myself, Cheryl (42) - DD Charlotte (14) - DS Will (11) and DS Jack (9). We are a new family of 4, having lost my husband suddenly in October of 2010. We're still getting used to this new "normal" that we've been thrown into and, although I'm sure there are plenty of people who raise their eyebrows, vacations are the one thing that allow us to create new memories with our new reality. So yes, everyone, we ARE going on another cruise!

I am very much a "aw heck, why not, let's do it" vacation planner - and the 60 days pre-cruise that I booked works just fine for me. I was able to book an GTY Oceanview w Verandah VGT reservation and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we end up with a great cabin. On the Dream we had 9126 and absolutely loved the location. The VGT rate was too good to pass up so I guess we'll see what we get when we get it!!

I'm still looking into port adventures - I booked some but the more I read the more I question so any input that any of you may have on our itinerary - I would be most appreciative! We did dolphins in Nassau last year so that's not necessarily a priority, although the kids would be thrilled to do it again.

I think I'm going to do the Castaway Cay 5K!! So - I've been in a state of uh - lazy and eating like a 6 year old for about the past YEAR which as made me less than the hot mom I picture in my mind :rotfl2: However, I'm 3 weeks into a diet program (lost 12 lbs WOOOOO!) and I think I can get my lazy *** moving enough to make that a reality! I'm really motivated!

Ok - I have to hit the road and pick up DD which in my case also stands for dancing daughter, as she spends over 20 hours a week at the dance studio...
I'll post a few pics of my crew a little later!

Last dinner on the Dream with Herbert & Moises our great servers!

Our First too

So I've been stalking the Disney Cruise website for my room assignment. I KNOW it's not going to be assigned for another month. Yet still, at least twice a day - I log on. I look. Still says GTY. I log off. I try and tell myself to not log on for a couple days but I do it anyway!

Now we spent 6 days at WDW in January (WL) and then on spring break spent 5 at Disney's Vero Beach which ended with a surprise 2 nights at the Beach Club - kids thought we were driving to the airport until we passed the airport & started seeing signs for WDW! And I said to myself (and kids actually) that we are NOT going back until the rest of Fantasyland is finished. No way, no how, noooooo. Well guess who's spending 2 nights at the Contemporary after the cruise? Ya, we are - I just couldn't help myself! And the funny thing is - I told each kid about it separately and told them each that it was a secret and not to tell the others. Hilarious. They each will say things to me with the over dramatic WINK WINK - keeps me entertained anyway!!
