Hey there readers! I apologize BIG TIME for my absence, but it just so happens that my life EXPLODED once Spring Break ended. With only 9 (yes NINE! SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!) days to go until Jess and I are headed to Disney, I wanted to get an update or two in before I go!
As you may or may not have read in Jess' trip report, I was staying at her house for a few days and we did ours and some of our friends' nails in Disney style. I, however, did not suspect in the least that Jess was doing hers because she was actually GOING to Disney. Some things just go right over my head. Here's the final product:
From left to right: Seagulls from Finding Nemo, (MINE! MINE!) Nemo himself, the UK flag, Donald Duck and the Monorail.
From left to right: 101 Dalmations, Snow White, Toy Story Clouds, Tigger, and Space Mountain.
Aren't they so fun!? I love doing my nails for Disney. It really gets me in the spirit!!
So, on the actual day BEFORE D-Day, (AKA Disney-Day) I slept in a little bit and then went to church with my brother, Mike. It may have been my imagination, but to me the priest sounded a lot like Rex! Mike agreed, though, so it must have been true.
After that, we came home and I surfed the DIS for a little while. I updated my July trip report and started packing!
Yes, I know, I procrastinate. I ALWAYS pack the day before. I'm so weird.
I also compiled some Disney music onto CD's for the car ride!
While packing, I had to make sure I included the custom park maps I ordered! Not like I need them...I just LOVE to look at them!
Magic Kingdom:
EPCOT:
Hollywood Studios:
Animal Kingdom:
I also selected one of these to put on my luggage:
Old school, I know, but I LOVED Celebrate Today!
I also snacked on one of these that I had brought back just two weeks before:
All ready!
Since I knew I had to get up REALLY early, I took a shower and tried to fall asleep at a decent time. I ended up falling asleep at around 12:30 with an alarm set for not far after that!
"In the South Land there's a city
Way down on the river
Where the women are very pretty
And all the men deliver
They got music
It's always playin'
Start in the day time, go all through the night
When you hear that music playin'
Hear what I'm saying and make it feel alright
Grab somebody, come on down
Bring your paintbrush, we're painting the town
There's some sweetness going around
Dreams do come true in New Orleans!"
That song from The Princess & the Frog woke me up at 3:30 AM!! I was SO excited that I stayed up and surfed the DIS for a little bit! I read one of Joni's updates and she mentioned the Frumps in it! It was great.
I woke up the parents and we all did the Home Alone race around the house getting ready.
Here I am in my customized Mickey shirt!
We loaded up the car and were on the rode before 5 AM!
We were so excited!!
Sarah and I fired up the DVD players! She watched Finding Nemo, but I needed something more subdued, so I popped in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
We stopped in Erie, PA at around 6:30 AM to grab some breakfast at Panera!
YAY! She's excited to get food, obviously.
Unfortunately, although the food was fresh and delicious, the workers were pretty snippy and crabby. I get it, it's early, and they weren't on their way to Disney.
There was a book club meeting going on while we were there, and it was really precious. They were discussing some political book.
While we were there, we picked up some lunch to-go and put it in a cooler in the car. I started to work on my A.P. U.S. History (APUSH) summer work when we got on the road again. There was a TON of it and it was painful. My teacher sort of gets excited when we're stressed out, and his favorite thing is seeing us upset. Which I was. I didn't wanna be doing homework on the way to Disney! I wanted to be watching Tangled with Sarah!
Sarah took some pics of me workin' away:
Embarrassing, but funny.
She also sniped Scott driving:
So focused.
Here's a picture of what I was working on:
The Bay Colony Bible Commonwealth...SO MUCH FUN. (Not really at all.)
We stopped in West Virginia after a while and had a snack.
First deer face of the trip, people!
When we hit the road again, I finished the 7th HP and started to watch the 4th. After two hours of APUSH, I needed a break. :/
Up next: Some really awesome food pictures and we settle in for the night!
