:wave2: Good Mornin' ya'll!

My name is Gina, and I will be your guide, organizer and narrator through this adventure of planning my family's return to the world!

Those of you that have read my previous PTR, and my current, and in progress, TR know that we just got back on April 5th! Before we even got finished with our vacation we were trying to think of when a good time to come back would be. So, here I am, working on making that happen!

:welcome: and I'm glad you're here! Just sit back, relax, grab some popcorn popcorn:: and join me as I drive myself crazy planning! :rotfl2:

How exciting! My husband and I are considering heading back down to Disney in 2013 as well... last time we were there was November '11 for our honeymoon and boy am I REALLY hoping we get to go!! :)

FUN!!!! I hope you get to go too!! I promise this PTR will be starting soon! It's been one hectic week! I hope to get started on some posting tonight! :thumbsup2

I'm sure that alot of you are wondering just this very thing. Who the heck are you people! :rotfl2: Well, with this post, I hope to answer that very question.

HI! :wave2: I'm Gina. I am 31 years old, a Mommy, a banker, and the Disney trip planning extraordinaire in our little family of three. I love everything about Disney, and it seems like I'm always in planning mode anymore! :rotfl2: Even if there's no trip to plan, I still feel the need to glean the disboards for all the information I can get my hands on. :lmao:

The little princess in that picture above is Emma. She's my little angel. My everything. She loves everything there is about Disney, and is always ready to go! Just yesterday, she was trying to pack things in her Minnie Mouse purse, stating that she was getting it ready for our next trip. :rotfl2:

This is Daddy. Daddy loves his girls, and is always ready for a good time at Disney World! He always helps with the planning when I need it, and loves to read dining reviews to help with planning out our meals.

So there you have it! Our little family! Now it's time to get rockin and rollin on some planning!

I guess the next logical question to ask would be just this...WHEN ARE YOU GOING?

Well, to put it plainly...I'm not sure...I know...I know...Why start a PTR if you don't even know when you're going? Well, we know we're going next year, and we have it narrowed down to a couple of different times. We just need to figure out which one it's going to be.

First, we had pinned down Fall Break, October 2013. We were so excited about this! This would mean Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and the Food and Wine Festival. I have always wanted to try both of these, so the idea of going at this time of year was very inticing to me!

Then we...well, I...got to thinking (I know...dangerous) the idea of having to wait that long to go back was a little bit depressing. So we came up with another time. DH though of going in May, just after school let out for the summer. This would mean longer park hours and Star Wars Weekends.

Now all there's left to do is weigh the pros and cons of each time, and decided which one to choose.

Here's our choices:

May 16th-23rd

or

September 28th-October 5th

Help me decide! Tell me when we should go and why!

subbing...

Can I just say you are brave for tackling the TR and PTR at the same time! Way to go, you!! :cool1: :rotfl2:

My vote is for fall break...here are my reasons:

*The heat of summer!

*The crowds of summer AND Star Wars Weekends.

*WE are going in the fall and we could arrange a Dismeet! :thumbsup2

*...and besides that, I would have someone to commiserate the long wait with! :lmao:

Hey, I have to do something to make the time go by faster! :rotfl2: I just hope I don't get confused and post the wrong thing on the wrong report.

Yeah...That's sort of what I'm thinking too. It will be much cooler in the fall, and the crowds of Star Wars Weekends kind of scare me.

A Dismeet would be AWESOME!!!! :yay:

I vote September and OCtober because that is my dream trip :)

I totally know what you mean. Going at that time of year is pretty much my dream trip too. MNSSHP and Food and Wine would be so great!

I'm here now! :lmao:

Have y'all been in the fall? I love Disney anytime of year, but if you haven't been and seen MK all done up for Halloween/fall and experienced F&W, that would be my vote. I went with my mom, stepdad and little sister for a long weekend in October 2009 andit was great! Slightly cooler, crowds werea bit more managable... Loved it! Can't wait to do it again with DH and DD someday!

I'm in!!!!pixiedust:

I vote for Sept/Oct 2013. I love that time of year. We are planning for Sept.2013 (and will be starting my own TR soon!!) and love the weather and the fact that the crowds are lower.

We absolutely LOVE October!!! I love how the Magic Kingdom is decorated for the MNSSHP!!!! The kids love to dress in their costumes and Trick-or-Treat at the park..... it is too much fun!!

YAY! Glad you're here!

Nope...we've never been in the fall. The more I read about it, the more I am tempted to go then, though! F&W would be so much fun, and the pictures of MK all dressed up for Halloween are so cool!!!

Yeah...I'm doing as much research as I can. It's looking very tempting!!! Welcome aboard! :thumbsup2

It really sounds like it is! UGH...Decisions, decisions...My head already hurts. :lmao:

You gotta go in the fall!

I went the first two weeks in October 2010 and the lines were great, we never waited more than 30mins for anything, the only ride we skipped was TSM for obvious reasons.

The weather was gorgeous and it didn't rain once.

I am totally IN!

I voted for May, in the hopes of a travel-buddy. :lmao: We are planning for May 2013, but haven't picked a week yet. Your week is pretty high on the list though. :thumbsup2

Anxious to hear what you decide and all the amazing details!!!!

NO RAIN??? DID YOU SAY NO RAIN??? Me likes the sounds of that...:rotfl2:
Our first trip to the World in 2011 included so much rain we almost needed a kayak. Seriously...there was a LOT of rain. We're talking torrential downpours here. This past one though, there was almost none, which was REALLY nice!

We are having a really hard time deciding when to go. Having a travel buddy WOULD be awesome! ;)

Whenever my family and I are planning a trip, the food is JUST as important as the location. DH and I like to consider ourselves foodies. Foodies in the since that we love to cook and try new and interesting things. We like many different types of cuisine including Greek/Mediterranean, Italian, Thai, Japanese and good ole Southern Comfort Food. And before you ask, yes, Southern IS a cuisine. :rotfl2:

One of mine and DH's favorite things to do together is to get into the kitchen and cook something. Sometimes it's fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and homemade cornbread. Other times, it's things like Spicy Pasta with artichokes, shrimp and black olives. Trying our new things is something we love to do, and we rarely, if ever, use a recipe for anything other than a guideline. This means we really don't follow the recipe, and we never measure anything. This has caused us to have some huge success in the kitchen, and some disasters as well. :upsidedow But it's a lot of fun, and we enjoy doing it together.

Like I was saying earlier, the food is very important to us. Because of that, this is one area of our trips that I always start planning early. That being said, we might as well start now!

After two trips to WDW, we have a pretty good idea of what we like. After talking it over with DH, we’ve decided to limit the number of buffets that we do. This presents us with a little bit of a predicament. Emma LOVES character meals, and most of them tend to be buffets. No fear though! Emma actually said the other day that the only ones she wants to go back to are the Castle and Pooh’s Breakfast. YAY! This makes things easier for me!
The first part of deciding where to eat, is deciding which dining plan to use. We’ve used a dining plan on both of our trips, and we absolutely love it! It’s a nice feeling knowing that we can order whatever we want, and it’s already paid for. So far, we’ve done the regular dining plan, and the deluxe dining plan. We toyed with the idea of going Premium for this trip for a while, but I think we’ve decided not to, and to go Deluxe again. We loved being able to get appetizers on the deluxe plan, and having that plan also gave use more flexibility in going to some signature places too. Although, Premium may jump back into the conversation later, for now we’ve decided on Deluxe.
And here are the places we are looking at possibly going to:

Kouzzina – We love to eat dinner here! We want to shake it up a little on this trip though. We might do this as a breakfast instead.

The Hollywood Brown Derby – We ate there for the first time on our last trip, and loved it! Love the ambiance, loved the wait staff, loved the food! This is a definite MUST DO!

California Grill – This was another first on our last trip, and is a definite MUST DO for this one too! The food there is marvelous, and we enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. We thought it was exceedingly wonderful to be able to sit in the cocktail lounge to enjoy a drink before being shown to our table by the manager himself!

Cinderella’s Royal Table – We had a FABULOUS experience here on our last trip (see my TR in my siggy for more details!), so this is also a MUST DO! We ate there for dinner on our last trip, so we may make this a breakfast on this one just to mix it up a bit.

Crystal Palace – We’ve eaten here for breakfast on our first MK day on both of our trips, so it’s quickly becoming a tradition for us. Emma loves to go here and see all of her friends from Winnie the Pooh!

Fulton’s Crab House – My parents took me there to eat when I was really little, but I don’t remember anything about it. I was three at the time. We love seafood of any kind, and DH and Emma love crab legs, so we just might have to give this one a try!

Yachtsman Steakhouse – DH is a major carnivore, and this place just looks so lovely. This one is getting some serious looks right now.

Kona Café – We’ve never eaten here before, but the reviews all look so wonderful! We might have to sneak this one in for a breakfast one morning!

Liberty Tree Tavern – We’ve never eaten here before either, but it seems like this is a place that you need to eat at, at least once. This one has a possibility of making it to our list.

Be Our Guest – I have no idea what this one has in store for us, but if it’s open when we go, you’d better believe I’m going to have it on my list!!! :rotfl2:

Les Chefs de France – I have eaten here before, but it’s been a really long time. (I was 11.) I’ve wanted to go here on both of our recent trips, but it never made the final cut. Might have to make sure it makes it on the list this time! (Besides, it gives me a good reason to get a Grand Marnier slushie after dinner since it’s so close to the cart!) :thumbsup2

Artist Point – I don’t really know much about this one yet, but the menu looks interesting. I need to study up on it for sure.

Narcoossee’s – Another seafood place, I know. Plus, I like that it offers views of the Magic Kingdom.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater – This place just looks neat. DH has eaten here before and said that the food is pretty ordinary, but the atmosphere is really cool. I need to read up on it some more though.

50’s Prime Time Cafe – I think this one looks like a lot of fun too! Plus, who can turn down fried chicken?? :lmao:

Yak and Yeti – I’m really not sure about this place, but something about it intrigues me. I have to study up on this one some more, too.

Wow…that’s a really long list. And I see that I have A LOT of homework to do! :coffee: Looks like I need to read about all of these places to get a better idea on things. Any suggestions from you guys? Do you see any I should automatically remove? Any I should add that I didn’t think about?

Great list of possibilities! I just :lovestruc thinking about and planning our Disney dining too! Here is my 2 cents...

Chefs de France-DELICIOUS!!!!! This was our favorite on our last trip!

Yak and Yeti- very good too! I have a suggestion for you if you do book this one: go right before parade time and ask for the window table upstairs in the far right corner...it will give a fantastic view of the Jammin Jungle Parade! The food at Yak and Yeti was so good, and the kids choices are great too, not just chicken nuggets and cheese pizza. Try the Pinapple Wontons for dessert...so yummy!

BTW~ Kouzzina is on my must try list for our next trip!

One of our favorites, too! :goodvibes

We love Cali Grill! YUM! I'd love to get back there ... but since it's 2 credits, it will have to wait. Sigh.

Kona Café – We’ve never eaten here before, but the reviews all look so wonderful! We might have to sneak this one in for a breakfast one morning!

We ate here in 2010 and we LOVED it! It was on the list for this year (as breakfast and dinner), but it got cut because of other things ... but I look forward to going back! So I think you should try to sneak it in! :goodvibes

We had a really great experience here in 2010. DD10 has a milk allergy and didn't like the dessert she ordered. The server brought her about 4 different kinds of treats to make her happy! Plus, I could listen to their accent all day! :lovestruc Food was amazing ... the only thing I didn't like was even though the tables were separated, it wasn't by much space, so it kind of felt like communal tables. But we wouldn't hesitate to go back! (And it's on my list for 2013 possibilities.)

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater – This place just looks neat. DH has eaten here before and said that the food is pretty ordinary, but the atmosphere is really cool. I need to read up on it some more though.

We dined here in 2010 and I thought it was amazing food! DH even agreed. We loved the food, and we loved the "movies". The only thing I didn't like about Sci Fi was the fact that it was hard to talk to your family as you sat two to a seat and the rest sat behind/in front of you. So it wasn't easy to share dishes (especially apps!). Plus, it was really dark, so it was hard to see my food. Granted, I've seen LOTS of recent pics and it looks like they've adjusted the lighting greatly. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

50’s Prime Time Cafe – I think this one looks like a lot of fun too! Plus, who can turn down fried chicken?? :lmao:[/quote]

THE POT ROAST!!!! YUM!!! I honestly think 50s is my FAVORITE WDW restaurant. It's FUN, and YUM! Who can beat that? And yes, I get the pot roast every time. It's THAT good. However, DH said he's yet to eat anything there that wasn't amazing. My friend had the fried chicken in March and he devoured it and wished he had more to take home. :lmao:

BTW~ Kouzzina is on my must try list for our next trip!

DO IT!! You won't regret it!! :goodvibes
