Hello All! Getting ready for our first ever Poly stay :banana: We check in in 33 days......but who's counting :lmao: We will be there right around Father's Day. I was concidering renting a cabana as a suprise for my husband (Tinkerbellie16 thanks for the amazing photo's and cabana scoop :worship:). Does anyone know the cancellation policy for the cabana's?? I know there is a lot of rain in June, just wondering what happens if it rains :confused3 Thanks so much for your help and thanks so much for all of the awesome information on this thread! It has definitely made the planning process soooo much easier :thumbsup2

Hey DisMom72...Stewartstown??? Too funny - I live in Dallastown!!

Enjoy your trip and I'd love to see some pictures when you get back!!!!

Loved, loved, LOVED the Polynesian. It was our first trip to Disney and while we don't really have anything to compare to, I can't fathom how any other resort could be better. The pool, the location, the monorail, the tropical feel. It was so great to come back from the park and relax at the Polynesian.

One thing, the pool got quite crowded at some points and the lifeguards went around to those sitting at the few tables around the pool and asked everyone for room keys. MOST people got up and left. I heard one woman declare that she had no idea that other hotel's guests couldn't use the pool. Really???

We stayed Club level, and with two picky kids, it was well worth the money. Plus mousekeeping left some stellar towel animals.

I'll post some pics on the next post. We cannot WAIT to go back!!

So with that post I am up to 6.

And now I am going to do another so that I'll only have 3 more to go!

Can they bottle the smell in the Great Ceremonial House? I loved the way it smells in there.

And the Dole Whip. YUM. And on a whim one night, we were hungry and got the pulled pork nachos from Capt Cooks. Thought it sounded bizarre, but figured what the heck and they were SOOOO good.

I wish I was back on the beach having a pina-colava right now.

Okay, clearly that did not work. How do I get the pictures to post on here?

Sorry for flooding the board...

You have to upload it to a site like photobucket. Then you copy the image url and when you post you click the icon that looks like a photo of a mountain and paste the url in the box that pops up. Hope I was clear enough lol

Don't worry about it. We are quite patient on this thread, especially with the promise of pictures!:goodvibes

Always patient for pics of my very favorite addiction! Our favorite longhouse is Aoeatero (I know I spelled tat wrong).

LOL...:rotfl: You are fine! I agree, we do have lots of patience with the promise of posting pics... :goodvibes I have 11 days and I am Poly bound! I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation! This will be my 5th stay at the Poly. The first year we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, which we also enjoyed. But once we stayed at the Poly, we were hooked! Hope you get the pic posting figured out soon. Thats something I'm going to have to master as well so I can return the favor and post mine when we get back! :cool1:

Double check when you call to book, but if I remember correctly the cancellation is 24hrs notice or you can cancel on the day of if the weather is really bad. I don't know how they define that, so I would just keep my eye on the weather and cancel the day before if I think it isn't going to be nice, just to be safe.

cheer34 You are too funny. Love the post count rambling. Glad to hear you had a wonderful visit to the Poly. It is so addictive. Now that you are hooked, you will need a fix here on the DIS everyday to keep from getting those nasty withdrawals. :surfweb:

Glad to hear they finally checked IDs at the pool. This really ticks me off the way A--People just think it is OK to plop their a%$#s down and chill at a resort pool they are not paying to stay and OBVIOUSLY can't read the signs posted and B--That the Poly does not check IDs everyday. Ugh! Anyhoo......aren't those Pina Colavas just heavenly to sip while sitting on the beach listening to the kids, the boat horns and the MK train whistles while watching the castle in the backdrop of the lagoon

I was told if the pool closes then you can cancel your cabana rental without penalty. Other than that you either sit in it in the rain or pay the fee. I think I'd sit in it with a Lapu Lapu. :rotfl:

cheer34 ... looking forward to seeing your pics as well!!

Cancellation policy is rain or shine 24 hr notice. Unless the pool has been closed for the period of your rental. It's hard to get out if it because it is ran by recreation, not the resort.

131 days to go!

I requested tokelau this trip...last time we didnt know we could request and were in Tuvalu...far away from everything and we had a tree growing into the balcony making it unusable but i was at the poly so I did not care one bit:rotfl:
