Lindsay & Ryan's Wishes PJ 10/25/13 **Planning Session TR Pt 4! 5/21/13**

Congrats on the photo booth!! And your dress inspiration photos are beautiful. I started following some of your boards on pinterest as well.

I would like to hear more about your floral consultation. Since I am not local to Florida. I feel like I can only find so many vendors through online searches. Sure, I can type in Orlando wedding florists, but what if there is a better one that is willing to travel?! Maybe it is just me, I am obsessed with knowing all the information possible before I can make up my mind. But I took a look at their website and they do some gorgeous things.

Can't wait to hear more of your plans!

Cute dress inspiration photos :lovestruc that is AWESOME that u got a free photo booth session 4 ur wedding! that is a huge savings! That's a plus in my book :cutie:

Oh wow!! Congrats on winning a photo booth: that is AMAZING!!!!!

Andddddd I love your dress inspiration--- but I wore a full tulle skirt, so I might be a little biased. :goodvibes

HOORAY FOR THE PHOTOBOOTH!

The dress inspirations are also so fabulous whatever you pick I think will fit you perfectly!

Teresa

YOU WON A PHOTO BOOTH!!!!! Happy dance, happy dance  Apparently when you do when, you win BIG!

Aside form that, which is hard to beat, I like the flowers you found at the show, very simple and elegant and roses are so beautiful.

Also, all of the dresses you posted are lovely and I adore your inspiration. I think you should have the princessey look b/c it's Disney and you are right, you're only going to have this chance once. I am stalking your pinterest boards now too...thanks for giving me somehting to do :surfweb: I love new sites. :woohoo:
Anywho, I am like you, I feel kind of odd in a strapless gown, and I HATE my arms so I'm pretty uncomfortable in my dress sometimes because it's strapless. Although, I do wear strapless things sometimes, I still am very picky about it. I like the overlay ideas, not a huge fan of cap sleeves, but that's just because of personal experience...I think they tend to make someone look bigger than they are unless you weigh 3 pounds and have skinny arms. But ignore my personal dilemma lol...I think you have some great dress ideas and I am excited to see what you choose.

Be back soon to read more!

Thank you for all the comments! You girls make me smile :goodvibes

I love love love all your dress inspiration!!

I wanted a full tulle skirt until I tried one on and looked awful  I just didn't have the right body! I hope you find one that looks amazing on you! You will find a perfect dress! So excited for you!

I commend you for going to a bridal shower! I went to one at Benvenuto's and it was so overwhelming! It was fun though and we had so much cake!

I love the floral inspiration! ALSO, JMorgan is an AWESOME florist. I'm the Moderator on the SoFla Knot board and JMorgan has great reviews!

Aww, such a cute gift for your FG! Just love Julie Andrews!

Congrats on the photo booth!! pixiedust: that's awesome!!

Thank you! I hope I find one that looks right on me. I'm not tall (5 foot 5) so a poofy dress could swallow me up but we'll see. I hope not!

That's too bad the bridal show you went to was overwhelming. I would definitely reccommend the Perfect Wedding Guide ones if they're all like the one I went to. It had plenty to see but wasn't too big so it didn't overwhelm. We had to start saying no to the cake. We were stuffed!

I'm glad JMorgan has great reviews! I know the work I've seen is beautiful and Jacqueline was really friendly so I hope it's at least comparable in price to Disney.

I love Julie Andrews, too. She is the epitome of class. :lovestruc

I totally understand wanting to research all of your options. I feel the same way! I will definitely post all about the consultation when we go so you can get all the details! Their stuff really is gorgeous.

Thank you! It really is a huge savings. Honestly, a photo booth is a splurge that we probably wouldn't have gone for if we hadn't won it. There are just other places the money would go. It will be so much fun to have at the reception and maybe the pictures can be our favors if we need to save some money?

Have I mentioned how much I love your VR photos? Lol.

I thought you might like the dresses. I lovelovelove the Cinderella you wore as well. I'm all about the tulle! :lovestruc

Apparently the winning big thing is true! Lol. Still shocked.

I'm glad you like the floral, too. I was in love!

You're right. It's Disney so how can I NOT be a princess?!

Do you have a pinterest? If you do I'll try to find you but if not you so should! It's amazing for wedding stuff! Thanks for following me!

We are alike because I really hate my arms, too! It's just one of those things for me. I get what you're saying about the cap sleeves. Sometimes they can make your arms look BIGGER which is SO not what I want. I figure I can try them just in case they magically look wonderful. Lol.

I don't have a pinterest but I have heard so much about it and how addictive it is. Maybe I will sign up today. ;)

I agree, you should at least try the cap sleeves and see how they look, they might actually be a good idea. Let me know. xoxo.

Hi Lindsay! I followed you over from my PJ!

Let me start by saying that I LOVE your proposal story. SO SWEET!

Second, I love the picture of you as Maleficent! I am so jealous that you get to go to MNSSHP every year.

And finally, congrats on the photo booth! That is so exciting!

I can't wait to read more!!!

Yay, Pinterest! It really helps me remember things for later.

I'll definitely try as many options for sleeves as I can and report back!

Hi! I'm loving your TR so I'm flattered that you're here!

Since I wrote on your TR about getting pictures with the character you're dressed as I thought you might appreciate this:

maleficent2.jpg

It was taken on my phone so it's not the best quality but I was so excited that she had me copy her pose! I was like a mini Maleficent :rotfl:

Thanks for your kind words and for reading!

Hi, everyone! This isn't really an update but just a quick post since we just got back from Disney! I'm always sad to leave but we had a great time with our friends so I can't complain. I'm going to do a quick TR but I want to wait to get some pictures from the other people in our group. I have to say that I couldn't stop thinking about Kristen and Tricia on Saturday and how they were both becoming a MRS on that day!

I will say that the Expedition Everest Challenge was super fun and I finished the 5k/obstacle portion in 36 MINUTES!!! That's a great time for me! Being someone who used to HATE running and having just finished the couch to 5k program I am really proud of myself for running the whole thing. That was my goal so mission accomplished!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Heeeeello, everyone! I’ve been kind of MIA for a while but I promise I’ve been around and trying to keep up with all of your updates. I guess now that it’s been more than a week since we got back I should tell you about our trip! I’m gonna try to just pump it all out now since it was a quick trip and not too much wedding stuff went on. To be honest I just fell in love reading all of your TRs (wedding related or not) and now love writing my own!

Day One:

It was Friday and DF and I both worked full days at work before getting on the road. All of our friends had already gotten into town and we were itching to get there. We got on the road right after work and got to Disney by dinner time. My friend Ashley (a bridesmaid) works for Diamond Resorts so she got us a really nice 2 bedroom villa at Grande Villas Resort. It had a full kitchen with everything you could need, a master bedroom with a huge bathroom, another bedroom with 2 twins, and then a big pullout couch. We had 9 people in the room and were pretty comfortable. We want to stay there again when we go for MNSSHP but we’ll probably get the 3 bedroom for a little more space.

All the girls in our room!

This is a good idea of what our group is like.

Once we met up with everyone at our temporary home, we all headed out to DTD for dinner at Raglan Road. I had never eaten there before so I was glad the group chose it. We met up with some more friends so we ended up with a group of 11. I ordered Mammy’s Roast Chicken and it was incredible! Their menu describes it as “Lemon thyme roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and natural jus”. It seems like a pretty boring dish but it was DELICIOUS and many other people agreed.

Oh, and their bread and Guiness reduction dip were AMAZING! We devoured that stuff! We had a really great time at dinner. We had a pretty decent view of the musicians and the dancers too so it made for a really fun time.

Sorry about the flash blast on that last one! After dinner we all went to bed. The next day was race day!!!

OMG I LOVE the picture of you and Maleficent! Thank you so much for sharing it!!!

We went to Raglan Road for the first time on our wedding trip with all of our friends that were there for the wedding. We loved it and will definitely be going back!! The chicken you had looks yummy (it's definitely a bad idea to look at pictures of food while you are hungry...).

Can't wait to read more! :)

I'm glad you could appreciate the picture! I am dorkily proud of it :rotfl:

And I agree that it's a bad idea to look at people's food pics when you're hungry. Remembering how good the chicken was and looking at it is even worse!

Thanks for reading! I'm still loving your TR :)

Ok, so much for just “pumping out” the TR! Things are finally winding down at work though so I should be able to finish now!

Saturday was race day and I was super excited! We had originally planned to just take it easy that day but then decided to hit DHS last minute. But before we could do that we needed to pick up our race stuff so the first stop was Wide World of Sports (after Dunkin Donuts!). I had never been there before so I was interested to see something new at Disney. Two things I remember about it: the parking lot was HUGE and it was incredibly hot that day!

The whole process of picking up our stuff was pretty straight forward. When we got there we found our names and bib numbers on a long list hung on the wall. Then we signed waivers and headed to the baseball stadium. There we were given envelopes with our team’s bibs, an info pamphlet about the race, an Expedition Everest Challenge temporary tattoo (cute!), and some other stuff I can’t remember. In this same area they had a couple photo op spots that we just had to take advantage of. The first one was a huge Everest themed mural that someone had drawn and they had all the runners sign it as we took pictures with it. Here’s my teammate/bridesmaid Ashley and I with it.

ashandmesignedposter.png

And then all of the runners in our group.

groupsignedposter-1.png

The second photo spot was an Everest camp site setup that I thought was super cute. One of the really fun things about this race is that it is very well themed and has an actual story behind the whole thing. Very cool and very Disney!

girlscampsite2.png

After that we picked up our shirts. I really like them! You’ll see us wearing them later on in the TR. On the way out of WWoS we passed a large map of the whole race course. This was the first time I saw the actual course we would be running and I was excited for the challenge! Here’s what the course looked like.

coursemap.png

Then we decided it was time to head over to DHS. We drove over and parked (something I haven’t done in a while). I can’t remember the exact order of everything we hit but we did a lot. We got a few rides of ToT in, a couple on RnRC, Star Tours, Toy Story Mania, and generally just had a lot of fun. We also did Voyage of the Little Mermaid which was a first for me. I loved it and it was such a nice break from the heat! I will definitely be doing that one again! We decided to wait in line to get a picture with Mike Wizowski. We have a looong running inside joke involving him so we felt like we were meeting a celebrity! The boys just thought we were being silly so they went and got snacks while we waited. Here we are with Mike (with one EYE!).

mikewizowski.png

After we did all that the girls decided we would leave DHS and go to WalMart to get stuff to make lunch/dinner back at the room. The boys wanted to stay for Lights Motors Action so we planned to meet back up with them at the room later. Then we took the tram back to the cars being silly along the way of course.

sillyashandkelly.png

sillyashandcourt.png

We headed over to WalMart and picked up all the essentials for a taco dinner. It ended up costing everyone like 5 or 6 dollars a piece so we definitely saved a looot of money and still got a looot of food. We then went back to the room and got dinner ready. Here we are with our finished spread!

girlswithdinner.png

Once the boys got back we all just ate and hung out and had a good time. It was definitely a family meal!

atdinner2.png

atdinner1.png

After dinner we all changed and got ready for the race. We had gotten Gatorade and bananas for all of the runners so we had that right before we left. We put our temporary tattoos and race shirts on and my teammate Ashley and I even had our friend Kelly put a braid of some kind in each of our hair in a random reference to Katniss Everdeen! Here we are ready to go.

readytogo-1-1.jpg

Then it was around 8pm (the race started at 9:30) so we all hopped in the cars and were off to Animal Kingdom for the Expedition Everest Challenge!

Oooohhhh, I am loving the idea for the Katniss braids! ;)

The race sounds like it was so much fun (well, at least the preparation for it!). I can't wait to read more! :)

Yay, Katniss! The race definitely was fun. Now you actually get to hear about it!

Once we got to AK and parked we found a random spot in the HUGE parking lot to hang out until the race started. We didn’t actually realize we were in the LAST wave until this point so we were a little annoyed that we would be waiting over an hour after the official start time to actually start running. We spent most of the time before the race officially started stretching, dancing to the music, and just being ridiculous in general.

sillyparkinglot.png

A Disney photographer took this one. Our silliness must have caught his eye.

ryanandmeatrace.png

He was my very own personal cheerleader. <3

Once the race started we had fun watching each wave start and helping count them down. They shot off fireworks and epic music so it was cool to see and got us excited for our turn. Finally, the wave before us was all lined up so we said bye to the boys and headed over. The moments right before the race got my adrenaline going and I was just ready to do this! My teammate and I tried to get as close to the front of the crowd as possible so we wouldn’t have to be behind too many people. Finally, they counted us down from 10 and we were off!

startingline.png

Ryan took this one when our wave was getting ready to go!

Ashley and I ran the whole 5k portion and did all three obstacles. The first were 4 or 5 rows of hay bales to jump over, the second was running through tires like football players do, and the last was a reeeeally low net that we had to crawl under in the dirt. Honestly, I am not a super athletic person and these were all really doable for me. We finished the 5k/obstacle portion in 34:45 which we were EXTATIC about! My main goal was just to run the whole thing so the great time was just icing on the cake.

The end of the 5k part was a little confusing because nothing marked the end of the running portion. They just started handing us scavenger hunt cards and we were like “ummmm, so do I stop running?!” We figured it out eventually, though. We took the scavenger hunt portion at a pretty leisurely pace and it was pretty simple. Finally, we answered the last clue which was our “pass” into the party in the park. After that we ran to the finish line and got our medals!

crossingfinish.png

finishline.png

I don’t have a great picture of the medals but they are very cool and great quality! They open up into compasses and are heavier than you would expect. I am definitely proud to have earned one! Once everyone in our group finished running we took some pics together and indulged in the Powerade and bananas Disney gave us.

girlsafterrace.png

After that we got back with the boys and did all the rides that were open. This was the only time I have EVER made a point of going on Kali River Rapids. The water felt amazzzing after the run! We also got on Everest a bunch of times which was AWESOME at night. So much scarier! I loved it! We spent a few more hours in the park and then headed back to the hotel. It was a looong day and we were hitting the parks one more time in the morning!

Our last day at WDW was just your average wonderful day at the MK. We all went together and had a great time. We got on pretty much everything (that wasn't closed!) at least once. We ate at Casey's and Cosmic Rays which are quick but always fun. We didn't take a ton of pictures but we had a blast.

I'll try to remember a couple of the more memorable things that happened. Well, we did the Laugh Floor and a few of our friends hadn't done it before so it was great. We ALWAYS do the Laugh Floor. I just love it. Before the show started they asked if there were any Mikes in the room and we had one in our group. He raised his hand and then they put the camera on him and made him dance to this crazy music. He's a good sport so he danced like crazy on that screen. My friend Kelly and I were sitting next to him and clapped like crazy people when he was done and then they said "wow, look how proud his girlfriends are of him!" It was hilarious because it just so happened that his actual girlfriend wasn't even in the room at the time! :rotfl: As they would say on SNL, good times good times.

castle.png

Random pic of us all in the park in front of my favorite landmark <3

We also had a lot of ride breakdowns that day but the funniest/most ridiculous was on Splash Mountain. For some reason the CM that loaded us decided it would be a good idea to fit our ENTIRE group into one log! This required me, my friend (MOH!) Courtney, and my other friend Rachel to all sit in the front row! I've never sat three to a row on Splash in my life so we were a liiiittle freaked out. Then the ride broke down about halfway through for at least 20 minutes. It was bad enough that they gave us all fastpasses after we finally got off! Anyway, here's what our entire crazy group looked like trying to fit into one freakin log.

splash-1.jpg

Ridiculous, right?! Maybe they do this all the time but that was a definite first for us.

We spent the rest of the day at MK until it was time to head over to DHS for Fantasmic! We have always tried to see it when we've gone for MNSSHP in the past but it's just never worked out so we made a point of it on this day. After eating and listening to Cosmic Ray we headed over to DHS to finish off the day. Fantasmic! was great and after that we had to say our goodbyes because Ryan and I both had to work the next morning. We drove back to south Florida and it was back to the grind and dreaming of our next trip to WDW.

The 5K seemed to be a great time for you guys! Does Disney do that every year? How much does it cost to participate? I've been interested in training to run a 5K, how did you do it? I can't even run a 1/4 mile! :lmao:

That must have been so cool to be in AK after dark riding rides! The whole experience just seemed amazing! Of course Disney finds a way to make everything magical.

So back to your dress options, those are great! Very pretty! I love the tulle and princessy look! My dress is very full at the bottom too and I wasn't sure if I'd like that, but I loved it when I finally tried the dress on. You are so way ahead of the game so you have plenty time to try on and try on and try on again!! Or you could be like me and just see "the" dress in a magazine and go in the store and end up buying it! I'm not sure many people buy the first dress they try on, but I did! :goodvibes

Everest Challenge was a total blast! Yes they do them every year along with a bunch of other races throughout the year that go from 5ks all the way up to full marathons. Here's their schedule for upcoming races

http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/sports/rundisney/

I payed a bit over $100 but it is cheaper the earlier you register and you get a lot for your money. Like, with the Everest race you got a really high quality shirt, an awesome medal, entrance to the party after that went until like 2am, and a bunch of other little stuff.

Omg, if you want to learn to run you HAVE to do a Couch to 5k program! It basically takes you from running one minute at a time to running a full 5k. I can honestly say that before I did it I HATED running and was very slow. My first day of it the one minute spurts had me exhausted but as long as you are persistent and keep doing it it WILL work. Can you tell I am excited about this? I am not usually good about sticking to things like this but you can feel your improvement every time you run and that keeps you going. I used this one http://pinterest.com/pin/133208101447968122/ but there are so many that have little differences. I would just find the one that works the best for you.

I love that you bought the first dress you tried! When you know you just know. I will definitely be trying on a lot but doing it your way would be much easier!
