Lindsay & Ryan's Wishes PJ 10/25/13 **Planning Session TR Pt 4! 5/21/13**

The places you've chosen for your photos are beautiful, they will make stunning pictures.

Your hair inspiration photos are cute too, I like the idea of wearing a cute head band. :) Very sleeping beauty!

You are SO creative!! These inspiration pics are just great. I am so happy you got the Photographer you wanted, you can rest assured that your pictures will be EXACTLY how you want them!! :goodvibes

Port Orleans is the perfect backdrop and I would bet you could do some pics on the carriage, how cute will that be??

I love all of your ideas for your engagement session! I think it will be beautiful!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Wow Lindsay, you are so on the ball, your making me get my butt in gear lol! That's a great idea to look up inspiration photos for your engagement session, I haven't even thought of that!

We're hiring Regina as our photographer too! She's so sweet and her work is amazing! We get to book the wedding date next week finally!

Way to go on your early planning, I wish I was more organized! I'm so confused on what I want, too many choices lol! It doesn't help that I'm a perfectionist as well and put too much pressure on myself! :scared1:

Going to search for engagement photo ideas now! :goodvibes

Aw, thank you! To be honest, finding inspiration for the engagement pictures is just one more thing I can do to entertain myself during the waiting process. I definitely think the photos will turn out better for it, though! Your photos will turn out beautifully no matter what you do. I think engaged couples have a sort of glow about them that makes the photos effortlessly beautiful regardless of preparation. :lovestruc

Yay, for getting Regina! She definitely has a bit of a fan club around here and she has just been so nice to talk to. That's so exciting that you get to book next week!!!

I am really not that organized, I just try to write things down as I think of them so I don't forget! I am for sure a perfectionist too but I think when you see your options you'll just know what's right for you.

Have fun looking for inspiration! Let us know what you find!

Man, you're so on top of things! I LOVE the idea of using the carriage ride. I can imagine the pictures you'd get during that and they'd come out SO amazing! :goodvibes

Thank you! Again, I just try to jot things down so I don't forget my better ideas! Haha. How cool would it be to do the carriage?! I really don't know if they run in the morning though...

AaaaHhhhhhhh! u got REGINA!! How exciting :goodvibes Great ideas for your e-pics :thumbsup2

Yaaay, Regina! Thankyouthankyou!

Yay for getting Regina! She is sooo much fun to work with and her pictures are AMAZING! We have our anniversary shoot with her in June...and I'm struggling to find a dress!

Thanks! We're so excited! I'm struggling with my outfit options too but hopefully I'll just stumble upon something I love along the way.

Thanks, Fay! I have to say I love the hair pics, too. Blair on Gossip Girl is famous for headbands and I just love her all around!

Thanks for the compliment! I like to consider myself to be a creative person so I really take that to heart. :)

The carriage would be SO cute but even if we can't do that I agree that POR will be perfect. It's so cool that we can take our photos in a place that totally doesn't look like Florida (where we live) without leaving the state!

Can't wait to see your photos!

Thanks, Faith! Not gonna lie, your engagement photo ideas were definitely an inspiration of mine. So creative and fun!

Hello! Sorry for not stopping by in a while. I really like your ideas, you're so creative. The scroll is very cute, and very Sleeping Beauty-esque.

I also LOVE the headband idea, of course with no poof. Lol.

Can't wait to see more. :)

Hi! No worries, I haven't been around too much lately myself. Thanks so much for the compliments! And I'm glad you are also anti-poof! :rotfl:

Hi, everyone! I have officially made it to the second page of the planning board so I figured that's my cue to update you all on some stuff. Last week was a busy one at work and I've also gotten wrapped up in some books lately (Hunger Games and Fift Shades of Grey trilogies anyone?!) which took a bit of the edge off of my Disney wedding obsession and got me away from the boards for too long. Also, this past weekend my future in-laws finally came to visit! DFs dad ended up not being able to come due to work but FMIL and FSIL were able to make it so they got to meet my parents! We had a great weekend doing fun things and they got to see our new place. It was way too short! We both are very close with our immediate families so it was awesome to have (almost) everyone in the same place. Anyway, all of that to say that I've been busy and slacking on everyones' PJs but I promise I will get all caught up asap! I love keeping up with everyone's plans!

So, let's see. What haven't I told you all yet? Well, first off, I sent our deposit and agreement out to Regina so we are officially booked for our engagement shoot at POR! We can't wait! That's really all on that front for now.

Hm...what else? Well, two weeks ago I started really scouting out bridal salons in our area. There are actually a lot to choose from around here but it's a bit of a daunting task. Our plan is to have all the bridesmaids who can make it and FMIL travel down here and then we will all go to look for my dress together (with my mom and grandma as well, of course!). We have options close to us, in Ft. Lauderdale which is like 20 minutes away, and then in Miami which is like an hour away. We'll probably stay the night in a hotel wherever we go and go to dinner and maybe for drinks, as well after shopping.

I started my search on The Knot looking at their list of south Florida salons and then I went through each website to see which designers they carry. Then, on a whim my mom and I decided to go see some of the shops that are close to us. It was a Sunday so they were all closed which was good because we just wanted to peek in through the windows to see if they were nice without being hounded to actually start shopping. I know it's weird, but I have an idea of what the shop(s) we go to should be like and I didn't want to go into the whole thing blind with people coming from far away. We don't have a firm plan yet, of course, but we'll probably make appointments at 2 or 3 over a weekend and go from there. Out of the 4 that we saw that day there were 2 that we definitely liked and seemed to have a good selection and atmosphere. We'll probably go bridal salon stalking a few more times before we make the decision!

Oh, and since we're on the topic of the dress, I PROMISE I will do my dress inspiration post asap! I know I promised it a while ago and then other wedding things happened that I guess I was just more eager to tell you about. I have very specific ideas in mind for the dress though so look for that coming soon!

Thank you all again so much for reading and being the wonderful, lovely DIS brides (and grooms!) that you are!

I just need to make it known that, assuming we get our ideal date, we are OFFICIALLY under 18 months from the wedding! I know that's assuming a lot but our back-ups are actually earlier than the date we want so either way we are less than a year and a half out! I'll tell you all about our date back-up plan eventually (don't have time now). Yesterday was our 4 and a half year dating anniversary and our first engagement anniversary. Usually we don't really do anything special for our "month-iversaries" but Ryan was extremely thoughtful and got me a Kindle to celebrate a year of engagement! :cloud9: I am SUPER excited about this because, as I mentioned in my last post, I've been reading like crazy lately and had been borrowing my dad's Kindle. Now I have one of my own! Yay!

I've noticed there's been lots of action on the PJ board lately so I hope everyone's planning is going well!

Just finished catching up on your PJ. I am loving it so far! I adore your theme and inspiration board, everything is lovely! Also loved hearing about how much ground you covered during your site visit, I was really curious about that myself.

Looking forward to reading more and seeing your dress inspiration!

Glad to see you updated! Can't wait to see your dress inspiration!

Thanks for reading and that post is coming soon!

Thank you so much! I'm glad the site visit info was helpful, I felt a bit in the dark about it before we went. I hope everyone has the good site visit experience that I did!

Just caught up! Let me know if you need any SoFla bridal boutique recommendations!

Can't wait to see your dress inspiration!

Hi, everyone! So, it's finally time for the dress post I've been promising for ages. I'm sorry in advance for the huge pictures. I just didn't feel like resizing them!

This is all just inspiration as I have not yet been dress shopping. We'll be starting that process in October (a year out) most likely. Now, like most brides, I have an idea of a dress in my mind that may very well not exist but I figured I'd describe my ideal dress to you all so you can at least imagine it. Here goes! My ideal, dream, super amazing wedding dress would have:

A Full Tulle Skirt - Yes. I want to be a princess. I know a lot of girls nowadays go for the more sexy and mature silhouettes but my thinking is that I will only get one chance in my life to wear a big, princessy dress so I plan to take advantage of that. I don't necessarily want to look like a cupcake but I definitely want lots of tulle and volume. This Lazaro is a good example:

blushlazaro.jpg

Coverage on Top - It seems like a VAST majority of the wedding dresses available today are strapless. While I think this looks great, I pretty much never wear strapless things in my regular life so I don't think I would be comfortable in a strapless on my wedding day. There are a couple of options to get the coverage that I want on top. I could do an illusion neckline like this Marchesa gown:

marchesaillusion.jpg

I LOVE illusion necklines because you still get the feel of the strapless but without being so exposed.

If I couldn't find a dress made with an illusion neckline, I could pick a strapless gown and add an illusion piece. This is what it may look like with three quarter length lace.

Britishlacesleeves.jpg

I really like the look of lace, too. I just don't want to look like I'm copying Princess Kate's gown so I'll be very careful of that!

Finally, another option would be a dress with some sort of cap sleeve. I like the look of these but would have to see how they look on me. If I wanted, I could add sleeves to a strapless as well. I recently saw these and thought they were a great idea!

attachablesleeves.jpg

They're detachable!

Length in the Back - It doesn't have to be a cathedral length train or anything but I want the effect of length in the back of the dress. I think tulle gowns that are long or have trains are just gorgeous. I've always imagined my dress dragging behind me when I walk down the aisle. The platinum Cinderella dress does this well! Drool...

In general, I want my dress to have a flowy, sort of ethereal feel while still being princessy as well. This Pronovias gown fits that description. I looove this one.

So, now you know where my dress inspiration is coming from. Who knows? I could end up with something totally different! None of the dresses I've shown are THE dress I want or anything (yet) but they should give you a good idea of what's in my head. Thoughts? I'd love to hear what you all think!

If, for some strange reason, you haven't had ENOUGH of my dress inspirations then check out my Pinterest dress page.

Now that I fiiiinally showed you my dress ideas I can update you guys on some other stuff! Over this past weekend my mom and I went to a Perfect Wedding Guide bridal show in West Palm Beach. We weren't totally sure of what to expect since we hadn't been to one of these before but we thought it would at least be something fun and weddingish to do. We were also curious as to whether anything would actually apply to us since the wedding will be at Disney and not in south Florida.

Well, it turned out to be a really fun time and fairly productive! We saw tons of vendors, tasted cake and candy, and got lots of free stuff! We will definitely be going to another one of these. Good thing they have lots of dates! Here are some random pictures from the show.

The big thing at the show was signing up to win prizes from all the different vendors. There was a sandals vacation, all kinds of gift baskets, and tons of other prizes. We signed up for one at almost every table! I never win things but I figured it was worth a try. More on that later!

As we were wandering, I came across a florist's table with the most beautiful centerpiece! I just had to talk to them! So, my mom and I waited and then got to talking to the florist. I told her how much I loved the arrangement and that I would gladly take it exactly as it was and smack it on the tables at my wedding and I would be thrilled. Here it is!

The big flowers are garden roses and I ADORE them! She told us there would be no problem getting them and most other flowers in October which mad eme feel better.

She asked about the wedding so we told her it would be at Disney. She told me she had recently done a Disney themed shoot for Style Me Pretty which I was very excited about. Here's a little something that she did from that shoot!

How cute?!

I asked if they ever went out of south Florida and she said they go to Orlando often! She was signing people up for free consultations at their location (which is close to where I live!) so we signed up and will be having one! We're not decided on whether or not we will use Disney for floral but I felt like this is someone that I KNOW can do something I will like so I should feel them out and compare pricing. They could end up being way too expensive but she was so helpful I feel like we could work something out. Here's their website in case you want to check out more of their work. It's amazing!

After that we browsed around some more. We signed up for a great deal from Men's Wearhouse that would get DF free rental of his suit AND a free suit to keep. We saw cakes by Publix GreenWise which were really impressive. Who knew they did cakes like that?! They were magazine worthy. Then we put in to win more prizes, signed up for more wedding events, and we were done. When we had first gotten there they took our picture in front of a Perfect Wedding Guide step and repeat (the red carpet backdrop thingies) and when we left they gave us two free magnets of the picture! I thought that was a nice touch.

After the show we headed to Target. Last week was National Princess Week and they had a big display of princessy things and the Very Fairy Princess books. Well, the newest book in that series is Here Comes the Flower Girl so I just HAD to get it to send to my flower girl when we ask her. It's princessy and it's co-authored by Julie Andrews so it's just perfect! I can't wait to send it to her!

So, that was all of our weekend wedding fun BUT, if you noticed in the title of this post, I have exciting news! Yesterday I got a phone call from one of the featured photography companies at the bridal show and...

:hyper: WE WON A PHOTO BOOTH FOR OUR WEDDING!!! :hyper:

I couldn't believe it! My first thought was that it must be a scam! :rotfl: My mom actually filled out the form for that vendor so a BIG thanks goes out to her! Like I said, I NEVER win things and apparently this is a prize worth $800 to $1000!!! I have a phone conference set up with the company to discuss our options with them on Friday. The company is Elegant Imagery and they are even Orlando based! I'm still shocked. I'll post about my convo with them on Friday!

I believe that's all for now but I think I've rambled on enough anyway. We'll be heading out for our Everest 5K weekend trip on Friday so I'm super excited! I hope everyone has a fabulous rest of the week!

I *love* your dress inspiration! How lovely! I'm fond of illusion necklines as well. One thing I would think about with those huge dreses, is how heavy they are and how warm you will get wearing it all day. I can't recall what venues you are looking at, but it's something to think about.

Congrats on winning the photo booth!

Thank you! You make a good point about the weight. I've thought of that too which is just another reason I would rather not go strapless becuase I feel like I'll be pulling it up all day! We are looking at mostly indoor venues (WP and GF ballrooms) so I'm not too worried about the heat. Thanks for the input and keep it coming!

I love love love all your dress inspiration!!

I wanted a full tulle skirt until I tried one on and looked awful  I just didn't have the right body! I hope you find one that looks amazing on you! You will find a perfect dress! So excited for you!

I commend you for going to a bridal shower! I went to one at Benvenuto's and it was so overwhelming! It was fun though and we had so much cake!

I love the floral inspiration! ALSO, JMorgan is an AWESOME florist. I'm the Moderator on the SoFla Knot board and JMorgan has great reviews!

Aww, such a cute gift for your FG! Just love Julie Andrews!

Congrats on the photo booth!! pixiedust: that's awesome!!
