AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

I have clearly never had duck before so I was thinking... is that what it looks like? I was honestly quite confused, but I'm good now! Lamb. Lamb lamb lamb. :rotfl:

Hahaha I've never had duck either - lamb only once. Wingnut enjoys both though! He's a better food photo identifier than I am!

Hey, I'm just a newbie who's excited for her first trip and is following along with your TR......popcorn::

Thanks!!! Hahaha I really was confused! It definitely wasn't just you! :rotfl:

After our wonderfully filling meal at Bistro de Paris, we decided what to do with the rest of our evening. It had, as it was tending to do in the evenings, grown much cooler than before we had entered the restaurant, so I took a moment to change back into my comfortable shoes that I had brought along and put on my sweatshirt that we had also lugged around with us.

I don’t travel light. I’m pretty sure if we were ever on the Oregon Trail, Wingnut would have left me behind at the general store at the beginning of the game.

(Which is fine by me, anyways. I’m not one for trekking across wilderness.)

Thankfully, we were only traversing the World Showcase that evening, and so Wingnut and I set off around the countries, probably stopping in a few shops along the way.

(I say probably, because, again, my documentation skills from this day were pretty much nil, and the next picture I have is of this.)

I remember deliberating whether or not we should stick around for Illuminations. We still had a bit of time to go before the show, and it was definitely pretty chilly out. We, as evidenced by standing in front of Spaceship Earth in the first photo I have since Bistro de Paris, decided to save it for another night and head back to the Poly.

But not before taking multiple Spaceship Earth photos.

Who wishes they were right there, right now??

 Me!!!

We trudged up the monorail ramp and waited for one to arrive.

Sassy hand-on-hip pose - I have no idea why.

Soon enough, we were back at the TTC, where we monorailed into the station just as Wishes was going on.

We stood and watched the show for a few moments.

(Not too many pictures tonight, again!)

We walked the path back to the Polynesian, a bit more sure of our path by this point. We made our usual stop at the GCH for more bottles of water (I know that we could stop at Captain Cook's downstairs, but why does the Poly need to have two separate gift shops for food and souvenirs? Wouldn't one work?), and then returned to Tokelau.

(Apologies for the short and a bit boring update...I promise the next morning was a pretty epic adventure though!)

Me! Me! I wish I was at Epcot right now! :rotfl:

Hey, I understand. You had to finish out the night! It happens. :) Can't wait to hear about the epic adventure!

I love your reference to the Oregon Trail. I too do not pack light and would likely be left behind.

I wish I was at Epcot right now too. :(

Another well known sherpa signing in to say "me too". :rotfl2:

I completely missed Illuminations in December, which was a bummer because its one of my favs. But the cold will definitely do that to you. Nice fountain pictures!

Yum, Bistro de Paris! Dh and I tried that restaurant for the first time in Oct and completely fell in love! It was soooo yummy! We had the chef bring out the same amuse bouche, and I'm pretty sure it was an asparagus veloute. I also thought it was yummy except for the foam on top. I like to limit foam to my fancy coffees.

I have to say that the butternut squash soup looks absolutely divine! It wasn't on the menu when we went, so I'm a little jealous, but I'll keep my eyes open for next time.

I think one of the biggest problems in this world is that there are never enough Spaceship Earth pictures:thumbsup2. There will NEVER be enough! Gah, I love that thing!

I wish I was at Epcot right now, too!

I love your SSE pictures. I always take way too many because I feel like you can never have enough. ::yes::

I guess I should comment now. I've bene reading your trip report and have to admit I was hooked when you said Beaker beanie, I love beaker and wanted to see what it looks like. :) Love your report and can't wait to see if you get your hat. :)

I too, would like to be RIGHT THERE, RIGHT NOW! Glad you guys managed to figure out the path back to your building from the TTC! When we stayed at POP a few years ago, I could NOT figure out the layout! I took a different path to and from the main building almost every time!

Hahaha I seriously was sitting there for around 5 minutes, trying to think of anything else to add in! It would have driven me nuts to start the next day in the same post! :rotfl:

I wish I were in Epcot more than anything else in the whole world right now!

So do I! :thumbsup2

Ahhh, a nice night at Epcot. Your meal at Bistro looked great.

It really was a great meal!!

Hahaha it seems like the fun group is the one staying behind...just saying...:thumbsup2

Hahaha yes, you definitely do not travel the parks with one or two small items!! Have you ever been able to skip bag check? I did it for the first time this past trip, it was the most wonderful feeling in the world!

I totally and completely understand the "having to skip something we love because it is just way too cold/hot". Sometimes you just get to that point.

A nice way to spend an evening. :thumbsup2

Me, too.
Seven weeks from Saturday, we are leaving.

I can't think of many better ways to spend an evening than in Epcot!

Your trip is coming up so quickly!!! You guys must be so excited!!

So glad to see your review of Bistro de Paris is up! We just made our ADRs (I really should have a PTR going, but I'm kind of scared to do one...I don't know why), and Bistro de Paris is dinner on our first night. Your review made it seem pretty awesome, but I am still not sure about it for a few reasons:

1) I hate butter. Yes, I know, there's something wrong with me. I just hate the taste of butter, and most French food is buttery. DH is cool with butter, but not me.

2) We will be in Paris just a few days before, eating French food, so would Bistro de Paris pale in comparison?

3) I wonder if it was even better pre-DDP. Most people say that the dining plan ruins restaurants. Makes me wish we would've booked it on one of our previous trips, so at least we would know if the food quality is different.

Still, it's on our list of restaurants we've never been to at WDW, and we are trying to shorten that list. I was thinking of making a pledge not to do Italian or French food this time, but it's soooo tempting! And your review makes it even more tempting! For now, I'm leaving it in our ADRs, but I guess those are always subject to change.

Love the pics of Wishes and Epcot...I know it sounds a bit silly, but I miss it!

Oh I thought the foam was fun!! Ooh asparagus is one of my favorites. This was definitely very cheesy, I don't think there was a vegetable in that bowl at all!

The soup was so soooo good. Seriously, I still dream about it! It seems to be a winter item!

I think one of the biggest problems in this world is that there are never enough Spaceship Earth pictures:thumbsup2. There will NEVER be enough! Gah, I love that thing!

Hahaha I will happily continue to add to the huge supply of Spaceship Earth pictures! I love it too...it's just so "you're in Disney right now."

I wish I was at Epcot right now, too!

I love your SSE pictures. I always take way too many because I feel like you can never have enough. ::yes::

Thank you!!! Hahaha I think I have more pictures of Spaceship Earth than anything else on this vacation. Maybe giraffes. :rolleyes1

Hahaha Beaker is one of my favorites too! I was absolutely determined to find that hat this trip!

Hahaha we started getting better at finding our way around a few days in. I swear, the multiple-building resorts confuse me so much!
