I like injinji socks and found them easily at my local run store and REI. I used swift wicks for my 1/2. Also do you have enough room on your toe box of your shoes?
I have my race day wardrobe always my CW-X pants and
Either my injinji or swift wicks wool socks and lastly my spi-belt. Shirt always depends on if I like what the race shirt looks like or not.

What's a spi-belt? I just ordered a running belt from HippierRunner and a couple headbands! Can't wait to get them.

A Spi belt is the same thing as the running pouch. I put my jelly beans and my granola bar and keys in it. Oh how could I forget my bondi band that is a race day must unless it's sunny then it turns into a visor.... Wow I guess my list is growing :rotfl:

I use a fuel belt. I look like a fool but I keep my phone beans and water.
I use the belt to train with as I don't have water stops when I am training, and now I can't run without it.

Thanks. I think I'll look for them when I'm out this Saturday. I didn't see them the last time I bought socks, so I'll try another store. And if I can't find them, I'll just order them online.

I don't think it's my shoes. I've been fitted for shoes and it's only one nail that will dig into its friend. And only if it gets too long, so it's not like it happens all the time, but thanks for the suggestion.

Is it me or is anyone else going crazy buying running and work out clothes?

I keep finding cute tops and bottoms that would be just "perfect" for my upcoming Disney races. I'm trying to have my cute princess outfit picket out already--by race time I'm afraid I will have too many to choose from.:rotfl2:

I guess it's better to have choices since I'm not sure what the Florida weather will be like.....right:rotfl:

I haven't bought anything. Mainly because I'm hoping I'll be several sizes smaller by then! :woohoo: Otherwise, yes, I'd be buying all kinds of stuff.

Oh! I did buy a protective arm band case for my phone to use when I'm training.

Yes, I have gone completely crazy but I am chalking it up to a good cause and if I added it all up it is probably still cheaper than DH and golf. I also have already picked out my outfit for race day (well mostly) and I think I am happy but I also have 10 more months to think about it.

DH is not helping either. He came home the other night with new headphones for me since mine were not "good enough". If possible, these are too good.

Another odd question-Are headphones OK for Disney races? I know some of the local races here say NO HEADPHONES which doesn't thrill me.

Head phones are super ok at Disney! But man it's a lot of action going on. I totally did not need music however there were plenty of ladies with headphones on.

I wore headphones during the Princess, but popped them out a lot to hear all the fun and cheering going on. There are some spots along the way back to Epcot that are a bit quiet so I was happy to have them then. Plus I really pace my self to my music.

Not just you... I wound up devoting an entire blog post to new stuff, lol! I need to be DONE, though; I have enough tops, bottoms and socks to last a week and I'm broke. ;) I have been hanging onto some old sweats that I'd otherwise have gotten rid of, though, in case it's cold and I need throw-away layers.

ITA - I had one earbud in for Runkeeper interval prompts on my first runDisney event, but never really heard the music because I was paying attention to everything around me. That was only a 5K, though; for the longer runs, I want my music available for the stretches of highway and I'll just pause it in the parks.

Hi Ladies!

I just started running and this is my second goal race. I am planning on the tinkerbell half in January and then this one for my C2C.

Having a Disney Related Goal is making running much easier for me.

I am forgetting around mile 6.5 after we leave the castle and we snakearound to the back lot that was a little in eventful but I was running with my friend do maybe that's why I didn't need music but yes there are patches were your favorite tunes will help you get through. After 10 when we are heading toward the up ramp I may gets some tunes for there. The neat part was I met so many women and by 11 we were like trying to push each other.

Y'all I can't describe how fabulous this race is!!! Not just that it is Disney but it was some really wonderful ladies running it!!!

I can't agree more with what you said. The women at this race are fantastic.
The friends I made because of this race helped me beat my 2011 time by 32 mins and I only used music (loudly) up that ramp.. OMG that ramp..:scared1:

I hate the cold, especially when in my head it is not supposed to be so cold. This morning it was 37 degrees when I went out to run. Now in the winter my mind is ready for cold, at the end of April it does not understand that snow is possible. I don't think I am looking forward to winter training right before the Princess.

Last year I know I read it was cold when the race started (when it was dark outside still). What is cold? And what was the weather like once the sun came up? Just trying to mentally prepare. I also know that Michigan cold can be slightly different from Florida cold. (says the girl who wear flip flops as long as the high is supposed to be over 45)

Hmm hard to say but my best guess would be that when the race started it was about 45-50 degrees, I don't think it got much warmer than that thru the race, but I could be wrong. I was cold in my corral, but I had my throw-away jacket which I ditched around mile 2, then I was comfortable thru the race.

However, after the race I was not prepared for how cold you get after that long of a run!! But then, it had started raining and was getting breezy. I really got the chills and took me til we got back to the room and I took a hot shower before I felt normal. Lesson learned - bring a jacket in my bag check!!

It was very chilly after the race was over this year. But the year before it was warm.

I did like Barbie and ditched my throw away sweatshirt around mile 2. I took the sweat pants off just before the start. Once I got moving I was fine in a short sleeve shirt and shorts. By the time I finished it was raining. I put my jacket in my bag and was glad I had it. It was a light weight one, but enough to block the rain. The rest of the day when we were in the parks I had on the white Champion jacket that I got at the expo and was fine.

I am with you WsPrincess about the weather. I went for a 6k run this morming and it was windy and 20 F. I was dressed for winter weather with gloves, hat and jacket. Even if I live in Quebec, that is not the way I should dress at the end of April.
About the weather for the 2013 Princess, after having run the 2010 half-marathon in January in freezing rain, I just hope for temperature in the 50 F.

Hi everyone,

Count me in too! I will be turning 40 at the end of June and decided to set the goal of completing a half-marathon - that the race will be at Disney is the present/reward part!! I did a little bit of running last summer (no races) then took the winter off. I've been back at it for about 6 weeks now and have signed up for a local 5K on May 12 - starting to get nervous about that :worried:

Anyways, I've enjoyed reading this thread, you're all very supportive and motivating :goodvibes
