Welcome all! I would like to invite you along for the ride as I plan my Disney Fairytale Wedding! So, hang onto your hats and glasses, folks, cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!

Sorry, I just couldn't stop myself. :lmao: But seriously, it is a little bit of a wild ride. Here's the story...

Us: Steve and I met 8 years ago. We had gone to high school together and never knew each other (he is 2 years older than me.) After I graduated from college a mutual friend introduced us. The problem was that Steve had just returned from Iraq and was stationed in Washington; I was 3,000 miles away in NY. So with neither one of us foreseeing a move, we chocked it up to bad timing.

We kept in touch over the years; Steve was discharged from the Army and found a really great job in WA, I began my career in NY. Fast forward 7 years later Steve returns to NY for a visit and a part of me knew I had to make time to see him. And the rest is history.

Well, almost...We spent last year traveling back and forth. I flew a lot of miles in 2011! We knew someone had to move, and after discussing and outlining everything (I'm a big planner) we decided that it made more sense for me to move to WA. So, after Christmas I packed a moving van and boarded my one way jet to Seattle. He totally came into my life and turned it upside down, and I've loved every second of it!

The proposal: I have to admit, I knew it was coming I just didn't know when. So to throw me off completely, Steve decides to propose on HIS birthday. It was a surprise! We had run out to the store and when I came in I went to let our little puppy girl out of her crate (Chloe, more on her later.) So I go over to Chloe and right on top of her crate was a ring box and Steve said that the best birthday present would be for me to say yes. Naturally I did! :goodvibes

Plans: We will be having an Escape wedding, keeping our guest list intimate. As it stands we will be having our ceremony on 1/25/13 at Sea Breeze Point at the Board Walk. Afterwards we're going to have a cocktail hour (hopefully in the Marvin Gardens room at the BoardWalk) followed by dinner reservations at the Yachtsman. Concluding our evening will be an Illuminations Dessert Party. I have to admit I am the most excited about this!! I cannot book until 5/25 (8 months out) however I have had the initial conversations with a Disney wedding planner and the dates are good.

With only 9 months to go (almost exactly to the day) there isn't much time however I'm pretty organized and I'm not really worried. My parents are visiting at the end of May and mom and I will go dress shopping then. I have started the conversations with Larisa from Moya Lara on invitations and programs. We're going to splurge since we don't have a large guest list, plus their invitations are beautiful!!

I was going to wait until we booked everything, but I am just so darn excited I couldn't wait!! I LOVE Disney! I was just there in February and I'm itching to go back. Steve is down there often for business, so I think I'm going to piggyback on a trip ASAP!

Welcome!! Such a sweet story!

Can't wait to hear how your plans unfold :D

Hey, ladies!! Thanks for joining me in the planning process.

This is going to sound silly but it just dawned on me this morning that I'll get to plan a Disneymoon too! Sometimes the obvious escapes me. :rotfl: But I love nothing more than figuring out dining reservations and park plans.

At this point I have been so many times that it's a different kind of trip. When we go now we enjoy all the cool fun stuff (ie rides and attractions) but we also spend time relaxing and taking in the shows. Oh, last night we came up with the idea to do the Kim Possible thing but incorporate it into our drink around the world. Never done the Kim Possible thing however there's a rumor that they would turn it into a Fineas and Pherb mission thing.

Anyway, I talked to my mom this morning and we're all getting excited. More to come...

Yay.. happy to see a new PJ! His proposal was so sweet... his best birthday gift.. awe!! Looking fwd to following along! :)

Just joining in :) Your proposal story is so sweet and I'm glad he figured out a way to surprise you! I'll be following!

YAY!!! More followers. I promise I will do my best to stay entertaining. :P As an Escape bride I do not have a lot of details to report on, but I will do my best. Also, (confession time) this is my second marriage so while I am SO SUPER EXCITED, I feel like I have a good understanding of the entire process. The first time around I had a HUGE wedding. This time it will be very intimate and more focused on me and Steve and the things we really want.

The proposal was so US. I know so many people have these beautiful stories with exciting moments and mystery, but me just finding the ring hanging out with Chloe (our doggy) well that's us. Getting me here and spending last year going coast to coast was such a crazy time, I love that our proposal was in our home with our family.

Yes, we are one of those crazy pet people. :rotfl2: While one day we will have kids, right now our kid is Chloe. We love this dog and she is a very good girl. A part of me thinks we'd be lost without her. We adopted her from the Seattle Humane Society and when we brought her home it was evident that we were now a complete family.

Congratulations it all sounds lovely so far I loved the proposal.

Can't wait to hear more of your plans I'm hoping to be an escape bride too in 2013

Hi Nicole! I came over to your PJ from mine!! I'll be following along. popcorn::

You're proposal story is cute, very good of DF to surprise you on his birthday.

The travelling must have been crazy for you but at least now it's done and your moving forward. The things we do for love, right!!! :goodvibes

By the way, I smiled so big when you quoted the Thunder Mountain ride audio!! That's my 8 year olds fav ride. It's closed for refurbishment on our site visit trip, so disappointing! :sad2:

You're also getting married on my brothers birthday! So we share a name and a special date. :goodvibes

Can't wait to see more! Post some pictures of you guys and Chloe and of course your ideas!!

Hello! :goodvibes Just joining in now. Isn't it great how some things are just meant to be? And what a sweet proposal story! Ours wasn't anything fancy either, but I very much like how Chloe was 'included'.

And there are plenty of details that you can add as an Escape bride! Our budget has been quite limited, but the options were definitely there.

Looking forward to reading more of your plans! :goodvibes

YAY another escape bride! Us escapee's need to stick together ;) There are plenty of things for you to report on & I can't wait!

Hi Nicole! I came over to your PJ from mine!! I'll be following along. popcorn::

HEY!! And welcome! I love BTMRR, one of my faves too! If you get on it just as the park is closing and there is no ride they'll let you ride it again and again! One time I got like 4 rides out of it!! I just love nice CM!!

My next post actually included pictures, you totally read my mind!!

The universe definitely has a funny way of playing out. This was totally meant to be, and it was always supposed to go the way it did. DF and I were different people when we first meant, and we both agreed it would have never worked back then. And now here we are...better than ever!

We will be adding somethings to our Escape wedding. We'll be adding a cocktail hour and the dessert party. We're including a cocktail hour so our guests have something to do while we're taking pictures and to extend the overall night. The Dessert Party pick up is around 8:15ish. We were considering doing pictures before the ceremony, DF doesn't care one way or another I'm not sure how I feel. We're paying for everything so I would hate to miss out on a cocktail hour funded by us. I thought maybe 30 minutes of pictures after the ceremony. All details to be decided on later.

YAY!! You're getting married so soon!!! I'm sure you're ready to burst!! I'm going to read up on your PJ and see what kind of ideas I can steal!! :)

Hello all!! I hope you're all enjoying this Thursday and anticipating the weekend ahead. It has been very lovely here, but of course the weekend is supposed to be raining. With no movies scheduled to come out, I think we're going to be laying low. We're at the tail end of a very intense cleansing diet so our fun options are a little limited. Another three weeks until we can drink again. Not that that's the only way to have fun, but a glass of wine is so nice when you're sitting around and relaxing on a Saturday afternoon.

So, because I have a little bit of time before I can book and get into the real nitty gritty details you're all going to get a little photo montage.

Cast of Characters:

This is me, actually a picture taking on my 30th birthday in NYC. 2012 is a big year for me. Well, I suppose it's more December 2011 - January 2013 is a big year and two months for me! I turned 30 12/22, I moved out to WA on 12/28, we got engaged on 4/20 and we will be marriage 1/25/13. So you can kind of understand why I see all of this as a crazy ride. Crazy but tons of fun!

This is Steve and I, the first picture ever taken of us as a couple. We were at the revolving restaurant at the top of the Space Needle. If anyone is ever in Seattle I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite pictures!! I love it so much I framed it and display it proudly.

Us at Disney, Mexico margaritas! We were there in early May 2011, such a great time! That was actually Steve's first real trip to Disney. He had been for business, seen very little of Epcot and I believe only 1 hour at MK but I showed him Disney Nicole style. Naturally he fell in love.

Silly hat pictures are fun!

Chloe, our furry little child. She totally thinks she's a person, but that's probably because we treat her like one. Not sure how we're going to be with future children, but this one is spoiled! The first time we ever had to leave her we totally hooked her up with a doggy suite at the PetSmart Pet Hotel, equipped with her our TV playing Animal Planet and doggy movies and two days of doggy day care so she'd have friends to play with. I told you we were sick, but we love this freakin' dog! She is a very good dog, phased by nothing (as evident by the picture where we piled all her toys on top of her in her bed.)

So, nothing really exciting planning wise. I did buy my first bridal magazine! And I have been trying to get an idea of the type of dress I want, mom and I have an appointment on 5/26 at a place in Seattle. I have found that I am drawn to Maggie Sottero dresses, and I hear that they are reasonably priced which is a plus! My absolute max is $3000, I would like to stay under that as I know veils and headpieces and be astronomically priced.

Hey girl, my birthday is on 12/21! Welcome to the beautiful brunette & happy December club! :rotfl: lol I ADORE Chloe! She's so friggin cute! You guys are adorable together~

LOVE everything....especially Chloe!! What a total doll! We're complete animal nuts too, we have 3 dogs, 3 cats and a degu and they are completely spoiled so don't feel bad ;)

Do you have any ideas for dresses you have your eye on?

You two so cute together! And I can totally see why you have that picture of Steve framed. :goodvibes (I'm now making a mental note to have Doug do something similar :lmao:)

And Chloe's adorable! I love the expression on her face in the second picture. It's very "it's a good thing I love you guys" expression.

Whoo!! I always said brunette's have more fun!!

Chloe is totally our kid! We jokingly talk about taking her too Disney for the wedding. Obviously that can't happen and it is a little silly to have your dog at your wedding, we just want to make sure she's taken care of while we're away.

I made a list of different Maggie Sottero dresses that I like. I'm torn between an A line and ballgown. Last time around I only tried on one dress! (My shameful secret:lmao:) I did love it and it was beautiful but I always felt like I missed out trying on lots of dresses, even though I knew that was the one. Not sure how a ballgown will look on me, it might be a little too much dress.

Thanks!!! I think my favorite part of that picture is that the hat actually says "Little Princess" :rotfl2:

Chloe is such a chill dog, she loves people and is sooo affectionate. She is also very pliable which allows us to take funny pictures. But, yes, she does have this look on her face like, "Sure, okay, whatever you want but you better pet me after this!"

Little mini update - I head back from Larissa from Moya Lara invitations and I filled out a little questionnaire to start the process flow. I didn't know that all the invitations she does are complete originals, now I am so super excited! Waiting to hear back on a few things, but I am so excited to see what she comes up with.

Side note - does anyone know if Disney allows you to do a confetti toss (it would be biodegradable confetti that dissolves with water) I thought of a really cute idea instead of doing a petal toss or bubbles.

Chloe is adorable!! And you two are as well. Looking forward to seeing the wedding come together! :)

Thanks and welcome to the party!!

So I hadn't realized until today that we're not going to have as much time as I thought. I mean I always knew it was going to only be 9 months but I don't think I realized how short a time that was until I spoke to one of my girlfriends today. When I told her the date she jokingly asked if I was pregnant. I laughed and said that if I were Steve would probably throw himself out the window. Not trying to insult anyone out there, we're just not at that point. We're focusing on the wedding and enjoying our "us" time before we get into starting a family.

Since I am sort of in this limbo stage because I can't book for another month or so, I've just had a feeling that I have more time than I really do. Even when I called for a dress appointment the lady sort of indicated that I should get a jump on the whole dress thing so there would be time for the order to come in. I'm fairly organized so I do have a great deal filed away in my head.

Details (as outlined in my head) to come. To be continued...
