tarheelmjfan thank you so much for your considerations, I think that sounds neat with the picture idea down the sides. Is there any examples in these oars where pics have been used like that? Like an index of just pictures?

How many pics would be good if there 4x6, do they overlap them or one by one?

For the top I was thinking of something similar with Mickey and Sitting on a bench looking at a photo album either in the garden in front of castle or something like that and say, thanks for the memories.

I love your idea for the cake topper, if they can do it. The cake index is the 2nd post here: www.disboards.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=44664322 The HM cakes on there have the wallpaper on the side with icing draped over it like curtains. They should be able to use the same method with pictures, but leave off the draped icing. It seems like I've seen one on here using pictures, but I can't remember for sure. Unfortunately, I don't know what size you would need. You'd probably need to contact Chef Brian to see what size he prefers.

To order the Cinderella slipper, do you have to stay at Grand Floridan? We are planning to do afternoon tea there one afternoon. Would this work?
I was also thinking of ordering a cake at Crystal Palace. As I understand it, you can order one at the podium. I know it's not going to be specialized or fancy. Is this correct? Just mention it when we check in for our ADR?

Thanks

We're staying at CSR in June for our anniversary. I was wondering about having a cake waiting for us when we arrive. I'm thinking the oreo one. Would it be just a generic one that you can purchase from Ritz or could I have it personalized?

Thanks for your help, I got the email for Chef Brian and sent him one this afternoon.Hopefully he responds in a few days, I was worried I would mess u the email bc it's so long ;)

See above :thumbsup2

Your best bet is the Grand Floridian, but you could ask at any of the Deluxe resort bakeries and see if they have him too.

Thanks for all the great info! I think I will do it! I know dd will be so excited!

Yes, you can also get one if you dine at any of the restaurants there.

Correct. The choices for podium cakes are chocolate with chocolate frosting or vanilla with vanilla.

I'm sure they'd write on the cake/the plate for you if you asked. :thumbsup2

So glad to find this, I was missing the other thread. I have to figure out what to do for my birthday, we never did get a cake in January, we had so much other good stuff to eat.

Hi! I just wanted to find out a little more about the mini cakes. Hubby and I will be spending our 10th anniversary together at the Boardwalk Inn, and I would love to get us a special disney cake to celebrate with! While I am in awe of all the large and amazing cakes, I know we need something small - so I am thinking of the mini cakes.

I would like it to be a little more special than just the regular flower ones I have mainly seen online. I believe I saw a photo on the previous thread of a mini cake a couple got at the Boardwalk Bakery that was covered with fondant w/ silver mickey head stamps - so that is possible?

Can a mini cake be a little bit more decorated from the Boardwalk Bakery? I saw one on the other thread that had been made at GF (which i know has more capabilities) that was a beach themed mini cake...it looked awesome! I would love to be able to get something that was still pretty themed but a mini cake. I hope that makes sense. :goodvibes

We can pick up our cake we order at the Boardwalk Bakery to avoid the extra charges from getting it delivered?

Thanks for any help you can give me! :yay:

Very pleased to report the special order cake I got for DH's birthday turned out wonderfully! Here are the details:

Date Received: 4/22
Location: Beach Club
Cost: $185 plus tax/tip ($85 for the cake + $100 for the hand painted Donald)
Cake Details: 8" Marble cake with
dark chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream filling. The cake is topped with a hand painted white chocolate Donald figurine.

Review: Yummy!! The cake is very moist and flavorful. It was expensive because of the Donald figurine but I fell in love with it and it was worth every penny! DH was so surprised...had no idea it was coming! We had it delivered to our room while we were at dinner. Everything was set up on a table cloth on the coffee table in our villa...

What you would ask for is the "Mickey's Delight" style, and stress that you want fondant.

This is the minicake we got from BoardWalk Bakery—it's a replica of our wedding cake:

Yes, you can pick it up.

Where do I find info for getting a cake on a Cruise(We'll be on the Dream in December)? Is it even possible?

Also any recommendations for my DD's 1st birthday cake/brunch celebration?
We will just so happen to be in the world for her 1st birthday!

I don't have suggestions only an opinion. If it were me, I'd go with silver. In pictures it will be obvious that it was for your 25th. You can order Mickey colors any time.

Thanks for your opinion tarheelmjfan! I really like the silver idea too, just not sure if they have any other silver options other than the stamps. I really wanted something different and whimsical. Does anyone else have idea's or suggestions? Can they make silver fondant?

I am planning on ordering a cake for my 25th wedding anniversary on May 23rd. We will be dining at the California Grill that evening. I am going to call the Contemporary and ask for private dining, as I understand it they will they give me Brian's e mail, correct? I was also wondering what information I should include in the e mail and how soon should I contact him?
I was thinking of a 6in marble cake with white chocolate mousse filling and buttercreme frosting. I want to have it covered in fondant. I am still up in the air about doing the cake in silver and white (silver wedding anniversary) or the colors of mickey mouse (red, white, yellow, black). Any suggestions or pictures would be great! Thanks Teri

Can anyone help?

Yes. In the email you can put what size cake you want, when you need it, and the description you posted here:

Once you've received a reply, you could send inspiration photos if you have any. Disney can do pretty much anything, so if you want a super-silvery cake, talk to the chef about your options. I'm sure there's sparkle dust/glitter crystals/all kinds of ways to make one. I know that the gold fondant "handles" on our wedding cake were covered in a metallic paint, so surely there's silver.
