Any idea when ABD will announce add on for Med. Cruises??

The DCL website said the end of March 2012. When we called DCL yesterday, they referred us to ABD. ABD said information would be released by the end of April 2012. Who knows? But we're definately interested to know. We're booked on the 7/13/13 Med Cruise that includes Greece.

We were wondering about the ABD add-ons to the cruises as well (for 2013), including the Barcelona-Madrid side trip. The cruise folks refer us to ABD, and ABD tells us the announcements will be soon--couple that with an ABD rep telling us that the rest of the ABD season would be announced soon after May 20 or 21....so will it all be one big announcement in late May? Or will the rest of the cruise itinerary (for the Magic and Wonder, for late 2013) be announced in late April--with ABD add-ons---and the rest of the ABD season in May? (With Greece added, and many trips tweaked, and now Vietnam...hard to believe there will be any more new trips announced, but who knows?)

we couldn't find anything either--so called the Disney cruise folks (ABD was closed for the day). They just got the info today--the rep read it to us. No details on what excursions they will do in each port--but they had pre-trip packages (4 nights in Madrid, for example--or three nights in Barcelona). For the 7 night western med the price was $2299 pp for the ABD add-on. So weigh that with a typical total excursion cost--and then the other add-on benefits--to see if it is worth it. I know SayHello did this a couple of years ago and highly recommends it...

Anyone finding details about the day to day excusions please post!!

I am so annoyed and a bit angry to be quite honest. My travel agent emailed me today that they opened up and I asked her about the 4 day pre cruise in Madrid and Barcelona, well they are not doing the pre cruise add ons for the 12 night cruises only for the 7. I was so wanting to do the 4 day add on.

I did do the Med cruise add-on in 2010, and I *LOVED* it! Totally worth it for me. YMMV.

That is so weird. Maybe they think people wouldn't want to take a 16-day vacation, and it wouldn't sell well? You'd think they'd at least offer it & see how it did...

Maybe but there are people that do and are doing back to back cruises and many people add on days. I don't know why but I am very disappointed to say the least

Totally understandable.

Ok, I just checked the itinerary for the Med Cruise next year (Venice), which we are booked and they look quite interesting!!! Question, is the dinner with the group or is it the regular cruise seating? Is the cost the same as the Greece one? Thanks!

When I did the Med add-on in 2010, I was told the dinner was not with the ABD group, so I linked my reservation with others from my DIS Meet thread. When I got there, the Guides said everyone from the ABD was eating together -- except for me! To my knowledge, they've continued to do the ABD groups eating together, unless you've made other arrangements. (Although I also heard that on later cruises, they thought to seat the folks with other arrangements at the tables next to the ABD group).

Ok, thanks say hello!

I just checked the ABD website and they have a pre-cruise Madrid tour!!! OMG!!! I am going to check on that. I wish they publish the price rather than us calling.

Yup! Have been looking at it the past few hours.

Anyway, I called DCL and the Madrid add-on can be added to any of the Med cruises. It even says so on their website. This is so tempting!!! I'll talk it over hubby later and book it maybe tonight since it'll be just a group of 40, as usual.

Well, that's interesting. I thought Tozzie was told the Madrid add-on was only for the shorter cruises. Conflicting information already! :sad2:

OK, the funny thing is, what the ABD site says is this:

This vacation may only be purchased in conjunction with Disney Cruise Line 7-, 10- and 11-Night Mediterranean Cruises.
But I don't think there are any 10- or 11- night Med cruises in 2013. They're either 4-, 7- or 12- Night. Looks like someone did a bad job of cut-and-paste from 2010 or 2011.
