2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

I just realized we weren't on the guest list. We will be there April 28 - May 5 and I booked this in June! The trip is finally here!

The time has come, leaving tomorrow for my first stay at the Yacht Club Resort, I am sooo excited!! Hopefully the weather will be good. Is anyone there now?

Have an AMAZING time!!!! Please take notes for the rest of us ;) I'll be there in 25 days, but who is counting! haha Enjoy!!!

Teena - Thanks for the link.:)

Dee - great pics of the Atlantis. Sounds like you had a fabulous trip.

If anyone is there on Sunday, April 29th at MK....our High School band is going to march down Main Street at 10am! Both my kids will march - my daughter for the last time and my son for his first time. I'm very excited!
How exciting for your children! Have a great time.

Have a great trip. We have the same dates as you, but we start at BLT and finish at BCV.

So glad to read that I am not the only one who has changed my schedule lately. I cannot seem to make up my mind as well. I graduate on May 5th from a local university and then can make my ADR's on May 24, which is when I really need to be firm on my schedule. I hope was thinking it was just the anxiety and pressure of graduating that was making me so indecisive until I read your post. Oh well...the bigger case is will I be able to put it away and avoid any changes after I make my ADR's?

Congrats on your graduation! If you are anything like me, you will change your ADR's many times, but half the fun is in the planning. ::yes::

By the way, love when the ticker is down to just days.

mmmears, I know this may sound silly, but I am SO happy to hear about the linens on the Wonder. This is one of the reasons I love YC/BC so much - the whole allergy thing is an issue for us and everyone is more comfortable with the comforters. Perfect for Alaska! I'm going to see what excursions we might be able to book independently with our little guy, and use the Juneau City Tour and Mendenhall Glacier Explorer as a back-up. Thank you so much!

It doesn't sound silly at all. I agree -- we stayed at the BC right after the linen change and we liked it so much more. We sleep better with the comforters, too. I hope you have a fantastic cruise! It's really an amazing itinerary!:)

So, we've only eaten at Beaches 'N Cream in the evening, so we've had a bit of a wait. We've been trying to do the Kitchen Sink for a few trips now, but I'm putting my foot down, and it is a must-do this time!! Any ideas on less crowded times? The kids are doing the Albatross Treasure Cruise, so I thought we might slip over there after they're done with that, but it would be around lunch time. Thoughts??

By the way, Dee, I asked the IPO. For a May activities schedule but it isn't out yet. I'll send it along when I get it...

DD is getting super-excited and says she WANTS to get up early, especially to hit opening at Universal. :cool1: Still trying to get my head around that park! Got my UT tickets - anyone know if we need to bring ID or anything? Last time we had vouchers for Disney and were staying off site so we had a long wait at the ticket counter and I had to bring the passports around all day which sucked!

We've dne Beaches and Cream for lunch and the crowds were much more manageable. Having also done the Kitchen Sink (along with my wife), we only finished about 1/2 and it knocked us out for the rest of the day we were sooo stuffed! My advice, have a lot of helping hands to help out with all of that frozen goodness!

Had a big storm go through yesterday. Temps in high 70's today, 80's the rest of the week and no rain in the forecast (except for maybe a 10 minute shower here and there).

Nope, it wasn't 5727 ... probably more like 5627 but not totally sure. But I do believe there is one that has a daybed. It was down the Presidential Suite hallway, right?

Yes -right near the Presidential Suite. I knew you would have better luck with the room number than I did. We stayed in that room in 2008 when we did the Grand Gathering!

Then it was 56 something, not 57 something. The rooms down that little Presidential Suite hallway are 56xx's.

I have updated the Be Our Guest List through this morning. Please take a moment to look it over to make sure your information is listed correctly.

@MickeyT- Mike, thanks so much for taking care of this while I was away. :)

BC, YC or BCV?

my vote is NO.....you'll be making a few changes about 5 months from now ;)

Try getting there at opening time.....we did this in July 2010, and didn't have much of a wait. We also dined there last May, mid-day, with no wait.

Good luck with the Kitchen Sink..............be sure and post pics!!

We arrived at opening (11am) on our check in day and had the place to ourselves. Have also visited during our middle of the day break and walked right in.

But the Kitchen Sink..:scared1:...Never been brave enough to try. Good luck and enjoy!

One week from today and I finally get to make our ADR's which means we'll be at that 180 day mark.

It's been a rough few days, interspersed with a little good stuff. But it started with finding out from hubby that he may not be able to go on our June vacation - which is our anniversary trip to Chicago and then to southern IL for my niece's graduation. Needless to say, I am not happy especially since it's paid for. And all along it's been my fear that because his boss is pregnant, they'll try to make him change his Oct vacation too - which is our Disney trip and that will really set me off.

Friday was a better day because I was at the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park. I love baseball, as you might guess from that little guy in my signature. I've been to thousands of games and have been a Sox fan forever, so to be at the 100th Anniversary was a thrill.

Saturday I learned about TL going down for rehab 1 day after we arrive, so there was some rearranging of plans. Then yesterday, I learn that the Test Track rehab is scheduled to last through November so it will still be closed when we are there. We had thought it was going to reopen well in advance of our trip, but alas, no. So that's a bummer.

So now, with just a week until ADR's, I'm hoping for no more major changes/disappointments this week.

Thanks for the comment about the photos. I love that one of the boys, too. At first I thought you meant the one in front of Leap of Faith where both boys have "expressions" on their faces, then I remembered the other one.

We had a blast!!! Never got bored in the 4 and a half days there. We let Nate go off on his own quite a bit for an hour or two at a time- he was always back before the deadline. I think he went on the Abyss, the most extreme slide, over 30 times! I actually have a bunch of pictures of him SMILING (all taken secretly, of course).

Dee, The pics with their "expressions" cracked me up! I love it!! That place looks amazing. I didn't know that this was your second trip there. Do you plan on going back again?

We ate there at around 4pm and 8pm. 8pm had the longest wait because people were coming just for the ice cream after dinner somewhere else. We would get there after someone had ordered the kitchen sink and were eating. Never got to see it being served. We love that place!!

Teena Your island pics look so beautiful. But my mouth was drooling looking at brunch!!!! I really want to cruise to the same islands next year.....but just can't quite convince DH yet. Maybe a graduation trip for my youngest in 2015!!!!

Dee I have seen so many commercials about Atlantis, but never really saw how much there is to do there!!!! thanks to your pics, it's on my bucketlist.

To all our Friends There Now or About To Leave Have A wonderful Time!!! Tell Teena hello for me ;) and remember to post pics as soon as possible.

How is it around 8pm at beaches and cream? We will be arriving around 7:30 pm and we need a place to eat. We won't be going to the parks, so we need a place right there close to BC. After a 15 hour drive we won't want a long wait with the girls!
