Disney Fantasy Gym Question

Hey DISboarders!

My family and I are going on the Disney Fantasy in five weeks, and I read that the age limit for the gym is 18+ years. I will be almost 17 by the time of our cruise, and was hoping there is an exception to this rule, like if I go with my parents. Does anyone know about this?

Thanks, and happy Cruising!

18+ is the rule and they can/do check KTTW cards to verify ages. There may possibly be times that the Vibe may go as a group, but that varies on each cruise.

Thats what i've heard, I was just hoping i'd heard wrong. I have read something about the teen vibe gym nights so i'll do some researching on that.

If you run, there is a deck (deck four on the old ships, I assume that same on the new) that you can run/walk around the whole ship on. It is open and actually a lot of fun. :)

"Almost 17" = 16, which is not an adult by DCL standards.

There are some times when the Vibe group goes to the fitness center after it has closed to adults. Be sure you go to the planning session on the first night and let the CMs know that you want this on the schedule!:moped:

Okay I knew there is a walking track but was not sure if people could run on it. That will be good enough for me then.

And I did not know there are planning sessions at the beginning of each cruise. Thats interesting!

Several years ago on the Wonder we had a 17 year 10 month old with us and he tried to use the gym and they stuck strictly 18 and over rule and would not let him in te gym area.

Okay thanks for letting me know. I guess they have certain reasons for it. I did notice we will be on the same cruise though!

I don't know if you've ever worked out with resistance bands before, but they're really easy to travel with and do a nice job if you need to keep up with your strength training. If you get a set before you go, you can have a lovely workout anywhere you can find space with them. I'm thinking your verandah or one of the upper decks would be really nice. Between that and the jogging track, you can still get a great workout without the gym! :thumbsup2

To OP thanks for asking the question. My son wanted to know if he could come up to the gym, so now we know he can't. He will be running around deck 4 I guess!

I will tell him too that they can suggest it for a Vibe event I guess.

We did a cruise about a year ago where the Vibe group had the fitness center on their schedule every night! Just go on the first night and make sure that the CMs know that you want it. And in addition to the walking/running track, there is also the sports deck where you can do various activities.

I agree! :goodvibes What great response and suggestion! I'll be picking a set of these up for my DS 16 for our Fantasy cruise in June since he had the same question. He's going to a big lacrosse tournament as soon as we get back so this plus running should do the trick!

Yes! I agree. I love this idea for me, too! I think it is great that teens want to work out. They should have some machines for them to do so. Healthy lifestyle and all. ;)

I had the Vibe group show up one night while I was working out in the gym. I think I was the only one other than them but everyone was well behaved and respectful.

We were hoping that they would add a small area for teens to work out since they added the Chill Spa..maybe the next ship

Unfortunately because we have late seating, he's usually misses going with the teen club. Since he disappears for most of the day we have a rule that dinner is with us! ;) Do you remember what time they were there?
