Has any one gone on this and how is this different from the family adventure

I went on the adults only Ireland trip last year. The weather was horrible but the trip was still amazing. The itinerary was a bit different last year as we were the first trip where they had added the Blarney Castle and the Blarney stone and removed Bunratty Folk Park.

it would be hard for someone who had only taken one trip to tell you the differences but if you have any specific questions I would be more than happy to answer them.

Even though I haven't taken the Ireland Adults Only trip, I've taken 2 other Adults only ABD's. I specifically asked the Guides what the differences were, and they said only that things like the Junior Adventurer evening activities were not done. On our Alaska trip, they took us on a tour of a microbrewery for lunch, instead of a family-oriented restaurant. Other than that, the itineraries were pretty much the same.

I would love to treat my son and future daughter-in-law to an adults only ABD trip to Ireland! My son is so proud of his heritage and has been dreaming of going over there for 10 years now. They would love to get married there but cost would be prohibitive so I think a honeymoon trip there with adults only would be fun.

I am hopping off here to read all about it now - thanks for letting me know there was this option! I am reading all I can about different trips through ABD so I can start saving to take one. I applied through the Professional Internship program and am in interview stage for ABD which means I'm being considered for the position so I am super excited to learn all I can about this part of Disney. We have all been to WDW and DL but want to venture out to other exciting places Disney offers.

Of those of you who have taken the Ireland tour, what was the most exciting part of your trip? I am so happy they have included the Blarney Castle - that would be one side trip that I would have extended my stay for to go see.

Are you applying as an Adventure Guide? How cool to work for ABD!

Most ABD's have at least one or two Adults Only departures. I generally go for those.

I will have to say the trip was magical all the way around but the Blarney Castle and Stone were my favorite, for several reasons,

1-It was a change in the itinerary that was not posted on the ABD site nor in the pre departure handbook So it was a total and complete surprise. Our trip was the first to do the Castle.

2- My grandmother was born in Ireland and I rembmeber stories growing up about the Blarney stone and kissing it. It brought back some great memories.

The other thing that was fabulous was Dromoland Castle and the day you get to spend there, there are many extra activities and I went on a Hawk Walk. It was great. The castle and grounds are amazing to say the least.

A great trip to go on that is for sure.
