AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

Ugh I can't believe you're having such a hard time finding that hat!

Mmmm I love that carrot cake cookie! We sat in the same spot in Writer's Stop one morning and it was so nice, just watching the park go by! Love that place!

Yay, the Muppets! I love Bean Bunny so much! :lovestruc

YUM :thumbsup2

That carrot cake cookie looked delish I must try one of those...

I love how excited you get over the Mupppets :rotfl:

You definitely should!! They're really amazing!!

Hahaha I know, I really do get all excited over them! But they're just my favorites! :thumbsup2

Love the Muppets!

That Carrot Cake cookie looky really yummy! I actually recently developed a liking for carrot cake so that's definitely one I want to try. Were there any nuts in it? (Hope not)

So do we!!! It really is good! Off the top of my head, I want to say nuts, no, but possibly raisins, yes. Will consult with Wingnut momentarily.

Oh goodness, the carrot cake cookie is so divine. I had it for the first time last year, and now I will not go again without getting one.

PIGS IN SPACE!!! Absolutely my favorite sketch on the Muppet Show. Every time I watched it, I hoped for Pigs in Space. Maybe I just thought Link was just an idiot. :rotfl2:

Oh, they're now on that ever-growing must-have list for me too!!

Hahaha Pigs in Space is one of our favorites too! Wingnut always hopes for it in the episodes we watch. My favorite recurring sketch was At the Dance though!

Best update!! Muppets are one of my favorites, and the Writer's Stop is a place Ben and I end up at a lot. That corner counter spot is a place I have spent any a moment waiting for Ben to get an iced coffee (and a delicious carrot cake cookie)

Thanks!! I'd never sat at that little corner seat, it's so nice and peaceful! :goodvibes

That carrot cake cookie does look delish! I have to try one and soon! So many treats, such little time!

Love the muppet pictures. It's definitely one of my favs and I think my nephews will love it.

There really are too many awesome treats to try in Disney! (But this one definitely should make your list!)

I hope your nephews love the Muppets! I'm sure they will! (How could they not??) :thumbsup2

Yay caught up on another TR! :thumbsup2

Peep jousting? um - fabulous idea. I love it when my sweets puff up all huge and whatnot. Have you ever tried putting a gummy bear in a glass of water and then checking back in on it in a day or so? ::yes::

Glad you gave AK another chance and that it was somewhat successful. Craziness that DHS was empty while AK was packed. :confused3

That carrot cake cookie does look good...and I'm not even a carrot cake fan!

Hahaha that's how I've been feeling too lately!

:rotfl: No, I've never tried the gummy bear trick!! That sounds hilarious though!

The random crowds in one park but not another really were hard to predict this time around. Not sure why!

Love the Muppets!

That Carrot Cake cookie looky really yummy! I actually recently developed a liking for carrot cake so that's definitely one I want to try. Were there any nuts in it? (Hope not)

Me: Do you remember if there were nuts in the carrot cake cookie?
Wingnut: I don't think so...
Me: What about raisins?
Wingnut: There was definitely a better chance of raisins being in it than nuts.

Ugh I can't believe you're having such a hard time finding that hat!

Hahaha it was pretty elusive!!

That part of DHS really does have some awesome things in it!! :thumbsup2

I hope you end up finding your beaker hat! What an epic journey.

Glad you found the famous carrot cake cookie. I'm not a fan of cream cheese frosting, so its not really for me, but I know lots of people who LOVE it!

That carrot cake cookie looks sooooo good! I know what you mean about splitting one making you feel virtuous...I ALWAYS make DBF share things with me so I feel less guilty! :rotfl:

I haven't seen the Muppets in forever. Definitely need to on the next trip!

I have to try that cookie next time. I managed to find writers stop on the last trip... but sadly somehow missed the cookie

I also have to catch the muppets... missed that too  Have they redone it in recent years? I think the last time I did it was in '08 and I dont really remember a preshow.

That carrot cake cookie has been on the list of foods to try and I always forget! I should really print that list out. So glad you enjoyed it AND got to see the Muppets preshow twice! :thumbsup2

I adore, adore, adore the Muppet pre-show! Rizzo dressed up as Mickey Mouse never fails to make me laugh out loud, "They're just tourists!" :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

That carrot cake cookie looks amazing! I want one for breakfast!

Writer's Stop is a nice little 'secret' spot - so many books to enjoy and a cool, quiet atmosphere away from the park chaos. I like the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie the best. :)

I'm so glad you loved FotLK! It's honestly my favorite show in all of Disney. I cannot go to Animal Kingdom and NOT see it. AHH. LOVE.

Haha, I didn't take TR notes either so I totally understand the feet on a bus picture.

Do you have the Muppets Blu-Ray? Because I've heard about the intermission feature from someone else, but the regular DVDs don't have that. Darn. I bet that's awesome!

You're making me wish I liked carrot cake! Hooray for the Muppets! I feel like flash pictures are okay in a pre-show room when everyone's gone in, ya know? No harm done it seems! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you loved Festival of the Lion King. :yay: But....you must spend more time in Animal Kingdom next time. I still don't think you've given it a fair chance to grow on you. (I need a "looking at you over my glasses" smilie.)

Piiiigs iiiin Spaaaace! was one of my favorite Muppet Show segments! Hooray for Link Hogthrob! In fact here's a Link Hogthrob link.

Great! Thanks for the info! Not crazy about raisins either but I can deal with them better than nuts.

Can't wait to see the next Update!

I hope you end up finding your beaker hat! What an epic journey.

Glad you found the famous carrot cake cookie. I'm not a fan of cream cheese frosting, so its not really for me, but I know lots of people who LOVE it!

Hahaha it was definitely a reason to keep going into the stores!

Aww cream cheese frosting is my favorite!! I will say that it's not an overly-frostinged treat. But you do still taste it.

That carrot cake cookie looks sooooo good! I know what you mean about splitting one making you feel virtuous...I ALWAYS make DBF share things with me so I feel less guilty! :rotfl:

I haven't seen the Muppets in forever. Definitely need to on the next trip!

Hahaha "sharing", even when Wingnut only takes one bite, does make me feel so much better about eating these ginormous decadent treats!

I have to try that cookie next time. I managed to find writers stop on the last trip... but sadly somehow missed the cookie

I also have to catch the muppets... missed that too  Have they redone it in recent years? I think the last time I did it was in '08 and I dont really remember a preshow.

Oh no!!! You definitely have to go back now!!

There's always been the preshow, in the room with all of the random props. The only refurb they did was change the film to a better quality, still the same story, same Muppets!

That carrot cake cookie has been on the list of foods to try and I always forget! I should really print that list out. So glad you enjoyed it AND got to see the Muppets preshow twice! :thumbsup2

Hahaha I think I'm going to have to print out my list too!

(Twice wasn't the only amount of times we saw the preshow during the trip...:rolleyes1 )

Hahahaha that's one of my favorite parts!! And the teamsters at the beginning. Really, it's 12 minutes of brilliance! :thumbsup2

Oh, don't tempt me! How I wish I could have that for breakfast!

Writer's Stop is a nice little 'secret' spot - so many books to enjoy and a cool, quiet atmosphere away from the park chaos. I like the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie the best. :)

It is! I love spending a few minutes in there to unwind!

Ooh I've never tried that one. I do love the Minnie's Bake Shop white chocolate raspberry cookie. Have you had that?

I'm so glad you loved FotLK! It's honestly my favorite show in all of Disney. I cannot go to Animal Kingdom and NOT see it. AHH. LOVE.

Haha, I didn't take TR notes either so I totally understand the feet on a bus picture.

It really is an amazing show! It's definitely a must-do for us now!

Hahaha I have random gaps of a few hours, and then 3 pictures of a bus. I need to work on this... :rotfl:

Yes, the DVD version wasn't in the store we were in (and we had a gift card for there that we wanted to use). It really is a cute little feature!

I think so too! I really do try to avoid annoying people with the flash, but when most people are facing away and leaving, I figured it wasn't the worst timing!

Hahaha I know, I know. I really did want to spend more time there, but the sidewalks were PACKED. It was just overwhelming.

:rotfl: Thanks for the Link link!! We have a few seasons of the Muppet Show, I love watching the old sketches.

Great! Thanks for the info! Not crazy about raisins either but I can deal with them better than nuts.

Can't wait to see the next Update!

No problem!! I really am not sure about the raisin thing, but you can always ask! :thumbsup2

If you had guessed that Wingnut had chosen to ride Star Tours, well, nope.

Toy Story Mania? No.

Another go-round on the Muppets? Surprisingly, no.

He chose the one, the only, the better-head-to-the-bathroom-before-we-get-in-line-because-we’re-going-on the Backlot Tour.

While I don’t entirely dislike the Backlot Tour, it certainly is not a ride that I feel compelled to go on every time we visit.

Wingnut begs to differ.

He loves the “behind the scenes” look at everything, and doesn’t even mind standing through that preshow where probably-suspecting volunteers get hundreds (thousands?) of gallons of water dumped on them.

Me: (Standing there.) Don’t you wish that you had the option to walk through the preshow of this ride, and just get on the tram?
Wingnut: No.

OF COURSE YOU DON’T. :headache:

Probably the most annoying part of the Backlot Tour (and Wingnut does agree with me on this one) is that they rush you through the coolest part of the ride, the prop warehouse. There’s about a billion awesome things to look at, but you have to keep walking through, or else the tram will leave without you.

(Hmm. That’s not a bad idea…)

Anyways, we hurried as slowly as possible through the prop warehouse (which is probably only a notch slower than me racing to guest services earlier that morning), and then made it out to the tram loading area. We were towards the end of our group, and so we got directed to one of the last rows in the last car, which already had 3 people sitting in it.

The row, not the car. That had several other people already in it as well.

For those of you that haven’t been on the Backlot Tour recently, you might be thinking, 5 people, no biggie.

Um. No.

Before we even stepped into the row, I turned to the CM, and looked at the row in front of us. “This one’s pretty full already.”

The CM, who had already filled up the last row behind us, basically said that it was this, or wait for the next tram. The three people already in the row were already moving over, inviting us up into the tram, "there's plenty of room! Come on in!"

Okay, then.

Our row companions were thankfully very friendly as we all squeezed aboard, pretty much as close as humanly possible to each other while attempting to give each other a bit of personal space.

And we were off!

Walt's plane.

Coming up on Catastrophe Canyon.

YOU'RE GONNA GET WETTTTTTT.

(Wrong ride, I know. But it still applies.)

A glimpse of the set of L!M!A!

We left the ride, checked the shop for the hat (nope), and continued meandering around DHS.

Since we're not too big on rides like Tower of Terror or Rock N' Roller Coaster, we hardly ever have reason to go down Sunset Blvd. I suggested to Wingnut we take a stroll down thataway, and he looked at me, completely confused.

"I've never been down here before."

"No, seriously." It wasn't like I was leading him down some random Disney hidden alleyway.

"Nope. Never been down this road."

"Well, let's go!"

We strolled down the street, deciding that we would go through the shops on the way back. He had no interest in going to see the Beauty and the Beast show, so we were soon turning back around, checking out the shops for the hat (and sure, other stuff too.)

I was a bit surprised at the total randomness of some of the stores on this street. They didn't really scream "shops in a Disney park" to me.

The hanging objects from the ceiling did have a bit of a Muppets vibe to me though.

At this point, it was around 2 in the afternoon. We decided to head back to the Polynesian to take a break (and completely overhaul our dining plans for the evening (and part of the rest of the week)).

Yes, yes we did. ::yes::

I have to agree with you on the Back Lot Tour. I do like it but it's just not a ride I have to go on each trip. I know we definitely skipped it the last time.

Now ToT and RNR is a must do for us. Have you and Wingnut ever been on them before? Tried it at least once?

Agree on the backlot tour too....we did it in 2010 w/ the kids for the first time (for them) :thumbsup2They enjoyed but definety a ride not needed to do every trip....

I like the Backlot tour but it needs a little bit of an update or something, especially since they got rid of "Residential Street" (Hi Golden Girls House!! ) I agree about the Prop Warehouse too.

I can't do ToT or RnR either. I have done ToT once and that was enough for me.

Hmm wonder what changes are coming...

FOLK really IS that awesome, isn't it? I was just there a few days ago. :goodvibes Love the carrot cake cookies at Writer's Stop. They are one of the greatest things ever, I swear. I've seen similar items in the real world, but they haven't had cream cheese frosting, which, IMO...what's the point if there's no cream cheese frosting?

Can't wait to hear about your overhauled dining plans. I've been known to make some serious ADR changes on the fly, while I'm there.
