Our February DFTW 2.25.13 // WP&Ariels // *Double Digits!

I am loving all of your plans. Your dress is gorgeous and so are the bridesmaid dresses. Looking forward to reading more!

Congrats and Welcome!! All of your plans look great!! We invited 136 and thought we'd end up with about 80- we're at 70 with kids and 61 without, most of us coming from CT! It's a very manageable number :)

Yours and you girls dresses are so pretty, love that your MOH will be a different shade! Are you doing some sort of under the sea theme with Ariel's?

popcorn::

Thank you! I am doing an under the sea theme actually! Ariel was always my favorite princess, so Im trying to subtley incorporate her. We have decided to focus on the beach aspect with the light pinks, purples, whites and tans to incorporate our theme instead of blues!

Congratulations on your engagement!!

You and I are actually getting married on the same day! How exciting!
Our ceremony will be at 10:00am at the Wedding Pavillion followed by a reception at ADH.

I am loving all of your plans, and am looking forward to following along!

Thats awesome!! Congrats!! We will be counting down to the same day!! :thumbsup2 We originally had ADH held for us that day but ended up making the switch! We could have been same date, same hall! :rotfl:

That is too funny!! We definitely could have had the same date, same hall! :lmao:

What time will you be getting married at the Wedding Pavillion? Maybe we will run into each other sometime throughout the day! Are you going to be in WDW in August for your planning session? DF and I have ours scheduled for Monday, August 27th.

Im getting married at 2:30 at the Wedding Pavillion! But Ill be taking my pictures around the Boardwalk afterwards till my 5pm pre-preception start time! So if you see another Bride, it will most likely be me :goodvibes We are planning our bachelorette party around the Boardwalk (Jellyrolls and ADH) Saturday 2/23/13.. maybe we will see you then too??

My planning session is August 21st, we're leaving the 26th!

We have decided to use an outside vendor for floral. In NY I was paying $2290 for my bouquet, 6 bridemaids bouquet, 9 boutonnieres, 3 corsages and 15 tall centerpieces consisting of orchids and calla lillies... This vendor was probably the least expensive thing in NY. Ive been doing research and Disneys floral will cost me more than my quote for just the 6 centerpieces. Ive contacted two florists, just waiting for my quotes. Here is what Im looking for

My bouquet

Bridesmaids bouquets

Centerpieces

The centerpieces would be much smaller obviously since those are gigantic in the picture! I love the tall centerpieces, but Im really unsure how they will look in my room. Im so indecisive.

I dont know if I mentioned it, but I sent over my deposit for Beaute Speciale! Thursday I will be sending over the deposit for our videographer.. hoping for another check off the list! Im going to start looking into officiants now so that I can be done with my outside vendors!

oh my gosh for someone getting married in the SAME place and SAME reception TWO WEEKS AFTER me you are way ahead of me in planning!!!!! please help me!!!! your ideas are wonderful and your dress is just stunning! maybe i should just bring you the the planning session since we are going on the same day haha.

are you using oustide floral in florida??? your colors and visions for flowers is exactly what i was thinking and i need to save money and i will go with outside vendor if i am allowed.

Thank so much for the compliments! I :lovestruc my dress!!! Any time you need any help dont hesitate to send me a message!! I love to plan anything and everything! Im trying to keep my theme beachy yet romantic... so my plan is to use very pale pinks, purples, and tans because to me theyre very soft and romantic but at the same time remind me of sand and the beach! I originally was planning on using all blues but once I saw our reception room in person, the walls are very neutral and the only real blues are the seaform color on the giant balls that are on top of the pillars.

I am using an outside florist, it is saving me a bunch of money so far. The one quote I have gotten so far already has my bridesmaid bouquets at half the price that Disneys Floral Department starts at. With 6 bridesmaids thats the price of my officiant! I am getting my two other quotes on monday and if you want, Ill private message you what Im getting and at what prices to see if its something you want to look into more :goodvibes For me it just makes sense because I am going to reach my minimum expenditure with food, alcohol, the wedding pavillion, and my linens alone. So why pay the extra for Disneys florist when I can save $$$ and go to a local florist. Plus, our reception room allows outside vendors for floral, photography and videography :)

I would love it if you could private message me when you get the quote. its so helpful that our tastes so far are similar and we are using the same room. by the way you put my mind at ease with the neutral wall comment, i have never seen the room so i was nervous about that. i am posting pictures of our save the dates soon i hope you like them! what are your ideas for Favors for the guests?

When you see the room in person you will LOVE it! Pictures dont do it justice! Everything is VERY neutral with the exception of the seafoam balls and the rug is a dark seafoam/teal with red designs. Odd, I know! However, you wont even notice the rug once there are tables and chairs all over so you really can use any colors and it would look good with the neutral walls/ceiling.

I will check you PJ for your save the dates, Im sure I will love them! I'm having the hardest time with favors. I found two ideas that were so cute but theyre edigble and Im trying to figure out how I will have time to make them, and have them not go stale by the time our wedding gets here. One idea is a sugarcookie that is done in the shape of a starfish that I would have placed at everyones seat to incorporate our theme a bit more, the other one is a bag of chocolate shaped seashells laid on graham crackers to look like theyre laying sand.. obviously theyd have to go inside a plastic bag, but they were cute! Ill try to post some pictures of them tonight to give you a better idea, What are you thinking of??

We have chose our officiant, and I am mailing out his deposit this week. Ive contacted three florists, one has been in constant contact with me altering and changing the final product. The other two arent exactly on top of replying to e-mails. So hopefully, within the next two weeks we will have decided on a florist and will mail out that deposit.

I'm having a really hard time finding favors. Ive contemplated making these sugar cookies;

however Im worried that they will go stale. We arrive in disney 5 days prior to the wedding, and theyd be made the weekend before so thats about a week that they will sit.

Ive also thought of these
il_570xN.261610288.jpg

just not sure how well chocolate will hold up. Im afraid it will melt and than Ill be favor-less.. Anyone have any experience with any of these?

I also ordered a custom design to make personalized buttons to put in our out of town bags! Im super excited about these, Ill post a picture when I have an actual button. Im on a mission to finish the out of town bags so that I can focus on wedding outfits :rotfl:

Love your dress!!! It's gorgeous. Sorry I cannot be too much help for favors, but I can say that your floral choice is really pretty.

Love everything so far! Flowers are beautiful! In response to the favors, I wanted to make mickey head cookies, but like you, I was afraid that they would go stale, so I scrapped that idea. I did however make white chocolate "castle" pops to go in my welcome bags. I made them about a week before the wedding and put them in the freezer. We live about an hour away, so we were able to drive them over and put them in the hotel fridge, and just slip them in the bags right before we had our welcome party. It worked well for us, and the pops didn't melt at all. I'm not sure how they would work traveling a long way though, or on a plane. :confused3 I love the idea though! Very pretty! Can't wait for more!

I like the Chocolate Favors in the baggie. it is so, cute!!!! love it! cant wait to see the buttons!!

Thank you! My only fear with chocolate is that we're flying. So Ill have them in the airport, on the 3 hour flight, than on the magical express, it will be a good amount of time before they see a refrigerator. Im so confused because I really wanted an edible favor because most others just get tossed.

I like the Chocolate Favors in the baggie. it is so, cute!!!! love it! cant wait to see the buttons!!

Thanks! I think those are what I am leading too since I know chocolate wont go bad that quickly. Im going to make a test batch and try out a mini cooler. If they dont melt, than chocolate favors are the way to go!

Well today my Mom, my Grandma and my sister ordered their dresses! My sister was the first bridesmaid to officially order her dress so im *VERY* excited! Its feel more official having bridesmaids with dresses :rotfl:

Here is the dress my mom choose. She looks amazing in it!
Jovani%2071604-1_lg.jpg

This is not something my mom would ever wear, and it took a lot to even get her to try it on. However, Im really glad she went out of her comfort zone because it fits her perfectly! She ordered it in the Navy which will flow great with the colors of the bridal party.

My grandma also ordered her dress. Heres her dress
70328f%201024x768.jpg

She ordered her dress in a dark purple, a shade of eggplant basically. The lace continues up the back which was nice. She didnt want any of her skin showing because "shes old". Silly grandma!

This weekend also marks my first DIY project! My future sister in law, and mother in law helped me make ribbon wands for our staged exit! I vetoed the rose petals because we're not using Disney Floral which means Id have to hire someone to clean up the rose petals which is $$$. I didnt want bubbles mainly because I didnt want them popping on my dresses or any of the bridesmaids or grooms tuxes. I hate when they land on clothing and leave the circle mark. I figured ribbon wands were the best way to go. They're almost done, so once theyre completed Ill post a picture. They're coming out great if I do say so myself! I choose three different shades of purples to correspond with the bridesmaid dresses. Hopefully my vision looks good in photographs!

After these are complete Im going to make customized tank tops for the bridal party in rhinestones. Etsy had some great iron ons done in the disney font that I want to use. I just need to find a discount on matching tank tops! I love wedding projects!!

so excited for you. every time i read your posts it makes me think of our wedding. i LOVE the ribbon wand idea and we are ordering ours off etsy. not using disney floral huh?? did you get any quotes you could send me via private message or my email ginny114@hotmail.com

we should meet for drinks or something while we are both down for our planning session. . . i am sure we will run into each other since its the same day.

what color table cloth and napkins were you thinking ? i have been looking at the pictures of Ariels all day and cant decide what to do. we are having a very floral spring wedding. I cant seem to find prices on table cloths or napkins, have you seen any?? i know they provide white. yuck.

I just emailed you my quote :goodvibes Hopefully you find it helpful!

You should look into making your own ribbon wands! I dont know how much they are off etsy but I made 50 of them for $54. They were so easy to make and only cost so much bc I picked pretty pricey ribbon. I am attracted to sparkley things! Thus I bought $5 ribbons.. but you could definitely find them for much less! It was SOOO much fun and it made the wedding real so much more "real".

I havent seen pricing for the tableclothes but I think its close to $30/$40 per table. I plan on doing a dark purple like my girls dresses with maybe a cream overlay? Not exactly sure, I have to see ideas in person :rotfl: I am terrible at envisioning things!!! I do know that I want the chiavari chairs (not sure how its spelled). Those are a must for us!

Id love to meet up when we're down there! We're going with the inlaws and their family so we will definitely need to escape for a bit!!! We will have to make some plans when it gets closer and I finalize what we will actually be doing in August.

HEY!! I am also Nicole and DF and I both used to live on Long Island!! Where abouts do you live? We live in WA now, right outside Seattle. Far cry from NY. :rotfl2:

You are so super organized and on top of everything! All your plans look awesome and your dress (and even the girls and you mom and grandmother's) is beautiful!! It is so different, I love the ruffle on the bottom.

Love the flowers. Have you given any thought on a cake?

As far a favors go, have you thought about something non perishable like wine bottle stoppers or glass charms? Or maybe something Disney!?! Vinylmation maybe? Not sure how much you want to spend, those can get a little pricey.

Good luck with all the planning, I will be following along!!

We live in Suffolk County, super exciting! :rotfl2: I wish we lived anywhere but here! Can not wait to move!!!

Thank you for all the compliments! My dress is nothing that I wanted, and I hated the idea of ruffles, but when I put it on I was in love! :lovestruc

I kind of want to keep the price of favors low since we figure we are having 50-60 guests. We plan on paying for the dessert party, rehearsal dinner and farewell breakfast for all guests including the cost of the wedding. My new obsession is a candy bar! Im thinking of doing all pink and white candies. I think it will add a little something to the party as well since I am not planning on doing any other dessert besides the cake.

Speaking of cakes, I have seen a few I love. But I think I may go for the simple "Happily Ever After" cake Disney offers with the bling bands around each layer. Cakes are the one thing I cant decide on definitely.. I love so many designs!!

There is a place in Syosset that has tons of different favor options and they are very reasonable. It is called Wrap With Us, they have a website and a physical location, check the hours though, I think they are strange.
