Chris & Patrick's VWL 7/5/13 Floral Update!!! 1/18/13

Oh Sleeepy (and Luv) Congratulations!!

Sleepy I completely missed your little 'engagement' word on the Groupie thread.
I was so taken aback with all that you did that I missed that (and I live for stuff like this!!).

This will be my first Disney Wedding planning thread! Looking forward to the ride!!! Muush:love:

Another Groupie following along!
Great story so far. I'll await, with great anticipation, the continuance of your year-long progression until you reach the 4th floor and say your 'I do's'.
Congratulations!

As I mentioned, I did sort of slip in the mention of the engagement at the end of all the things we had done that day. I think I'm still tired from the four parks in one day gig! Thanks for stopping by, and we'll try to keep you (and others) entertained along the way. :)

Thanks, Diz! We truly feel blessed to have found the other person, and I hope that shows. We know it will be a fun ride! :thumbsup2

We’re just back from a most anticipated, well deserved mini-vacation. (Every vacation is well deserved and most anticipated, right?) The first and foremost reason for our visit:
IMG_1424.jpg

This is P’s first grandchild, baby Daphne. Yes, HE is old enough to be a grandparent. Me? Not so much.
Isn’t she precious?
IMG_1421.jpg

We left bright and early for the looong (okay, so not so bad, after all, it’s never too long to travel to go to Disney. Ummmm, see the family, I, mean) drive to Melbourne, Florida. We had an awesome time with P’s daughter, who, until now, I had only met one other time, her husband and the newest addition to the clan. I looooved the opportunity to get to know them all better. It also didn’t hurt that we were within walking distance to the beach. And. Conveniently located on said beach was a Starbucks. Score!! We went every day and walked the beach hand-in-hand drinking our lattes. We had sooo much fun gathering seashells to give to P’s younger daughter. Well, I had fun gathering seashells. I think P had more fun checking out my backside every time I bent over to collect a shell, lol!!! I’m just sayin’…

Now P and I had a bit of a chat or two (maybe more) prior to the trip. They always started with, “we’ll be soooo close to Disney, how could we not go for a day?” And, they always ended with, “we’ll be soooo close to Disney, how could we not go for a day?” Needless to say, we went for a day.

We got up bright and early that fine Friday morning. We were determined to arrive for rope drop. And. Hit every park in one day! Does anyone else get super, bubble-ee over with excitement when they see this?
IMG_1381.jpg

I mean, the bounce in your seat kind of excitement? I sure do.

Since we were running a bit early, we decided to stop at our home-away-from home, The Villa’s at Wilderness Lodge.

I totally love the sense of serenity I feel here.

We also stopped at our ceremony location to check it out.

I’m really happy we chose this location for our ceremony. It’s beautiful, tranquil and serene and we both love it there. We stayed there on our very first trip together and were inspired to buy DVC at the villas soon after.

Next up: Park Number 1, The Magic Kingdom!!!!

Isn’t she precious? :lovestruc

We always seem to start with this park. :thumbsup2

After the picture taking and dreaming (yes, I’m quite certain we BOTH were dreaming!) about our wedding, we hopped in the boat for the trip
IMG_1388.jpg

to this, for us, most magical place:
IMG_1384.jpg
IMG_1389.jpg

Then stopped to visit our pals, of course:
IMG_1390.jpg

After that, I wistfully gazed into the eyes of the LOML and inquired if we could stop at City Hall for “Just engaged” buttons. Initially the response was “No.” Can you believe that?? However, because A of all, he loves me and, B of all, I might have looked a teeny tiny bit crestfallen, within a nano-second of the first response came a “Yes.” Yea!!! Then our obligatory Main Street photo:

IMG_1391.jpg

Then we made a beeline line for Space Mnt. At this point in the day, even tho it was still pretty early, the line had a bit of a wait, so we grabbed a fast pass and were off. P couldn’t resist a pic of the gorgeous castle:
IMG_1392.jpg

And we ran to The Haunted Mansion. I must now interrupt this story to relay WHY we RAN. It’s not so much that we were in such a huge hurry. Although we were, kinda sorta. It’s that I might be just a tiny bit vertically challenged in comparison to the LOML. When he walks; I run. JUST TO KEEP UP! When we run together; I run, he WALKS!! I’m not kidding! Anyhoo, I love how I always discover something new on the HM every time I’m on it. It’s definitely on our must do list. After HM, we took the Frontierland to Adventureland shortcut for Pirates, went back to the castle for some ideas for our photo shoot, then it was FP time at Space Mnt! Upon our arrival back to Earth, P, with an impish grin and a twinkle in his eye, suggested Buzz. Here’s the REAL reason why he loves that ride – HE ALWAYS BEATS ME! I can’t really figure it out, but EVERY time we do this, I ALWAYS get a gun that’s BROKEN!! It’s true!!!!

After I received the lowly Space Cadet assignment whilst he received the lofty Commander, we talked about what to do next. We had decided beforehand that in order to get to all 4 parks done in one day, we’d have to choose just a select few of our favorites and no more. So. We figured by now it was time to move on. Although, P DID let me do a teeny-tiny bit of shopping on Main St. How could I not??

Next Up: La Pavore La Tiengo la la la la la la ….. OR Park Number 2: We’re On The Monorail to Epcot!

Okay, see below for an ironic twist to the whole waiting on the ring story. . .

As a quick review for those who may be checking in after an extended absence, I told Chris that her engagement ring wouldn't be ready for at least two to three months after we had picked it out. Then, as a surprise, I picked up said ring since it actually was ready and hid it from her for the next month and a half before surprising her with it when I proposed in our favorite restaurant. During that month and a half, she would quiz me daily about when it would arrive. That was a long six weeks! ::yes:: In a humorous twist of reality, when we went back to Jared's to choose our wedding bands a few weeks ago, the nice woman helping us out said that my band would be ready in a couple of weeks (it was to be engraved), but that she was unsure when C's band would be in! Just like my made up story for her engagement ring!! :rotfl2: So, it would appear my "lie" had more truth to it than either of us imagined! Oh, and in another interesting footnote to this whole experience, the woman who was helping us turned out to have honeymooned at the World, and her parents are DVC owners at VWL! It is a small world after all. ;)

Thanks for the kind comments about the PJ, and if you're interested in more humor, follow the link below to our cruise TR from last year. I mention this because as part of our honeymoon next year, we'll be taking another cruise on the Dream.

:worship: prettiest. ring. ever. OMG - I love it! Well worth that ever-so-slight wait. Although knowing that it was literally right in front of me would have killed me! :rotfl2:

Joining in on the fun again! I'm buying DVC points at BWV (just passed ROFR on tuesday) and have been hanging out on those boards more lately. I'm happy I stumbled upon your update link from your cruise trip report. You make such a lovely couple and I enjoy your banter back and forth.

That’s right, my ring came in one whole month early!!!!! Although, to be honest, I was even more excited about P’s ring than mine since I had it specially engraved. I couldn’t wait to see it!!
Here they are!
