can we have 3 adults and 2 children (5/2) in a studio?

My SIL wants to go with us and I saw it sleeps 4 but I thought that you can have 4 plus 1 child under 3 is this true? Would there we room for a pack-n-play plus a small cot for the 5 years with the queen bed and pull out sofa?

We are staying at SSR and AKV. My SIL is 19 so she may not care about comfortable sleeping conditions and maybe could share the pullout with the 5 year old? What do you think? She has never been to Disney before.

If we got the DDP does it have to be for the same number of people in the room like when you book normally through DIsney? We were thinking of getting it but I do not think she could afford it

You can do 4 plus a child under 3 in either SSR or AKV...DVC doesn't provide cots, tho...so the your SIL will have share w/the 5-year-old on the pull-out (which is reasonably comfortable in both resorts), or bring an air mattress (plus linens; DVC won't provide linens or towels for more than 4 either)...

As for space, no doubt you could configure things so you could find space for a twin-sized airbed (or sleeping bag) and the pack 'n play, but it will be very tight, especially w/the sleeper sofa pulled out...

And yes, you'll have to get the DDP for each person for each night--but if your baby is 2 or less, you don't have to get the DDP for him/her...

They will let you do it, it will be very, very cramped. If your 5 year old takes naps, you may want to consider how you'll handle that. There's no room to walk around with the pullout open, and the pack-n-play will need to be in front of the bathroom, or in the entrance hallway.

IMO, DVC figured studios would be used by singles or couples. Disney sets room occupancy limits at the maximum number of people who can be stuffed in without violating the fire code. It doesn't mean that that number of people will be comfortable staying in the room.

Yes I think it would be cramped. My husband does not think it is a good idea but I would nto mind having her go. The 5 year old does not take naps but the 2 year old sometimes does and would be in the pack-n-play. I think if we folded up the couch during the day it would not be bad and I would think she would spend most of her time at the pool or in the parks. We are boring and go to bed early except on MK days. It would be nice having the extra person to help out though.

The bathrooms are pretty small in the studios and that's where everyone (or at least your SIL) would have to do her changing with no other room in the villa. Would that be a problem?

I had four people in an OKW studio for a few days, but they are large and have two queen beds.

The non-Value studios at AKV are about 3 feet longer than the regular (non-deluxe) rooms at the AKL hotel. The non-Value studios in Jambo House used to be Deluxe hotel rooms at AKL. (What made them deluxe was the extra length plus a day bed.) The Value studios at AKV are exactly the same size as the regular AKL hotel rooms since they were created by converting a regular room into a Value studio.

The studios in Kidani are the same size as the non-Value studios in Jambo House but with a different bathroom configuration that makes it less convenient for a mixed group. In Jambo there is a large open area with the vanity and a separate room with the toilet and tub. That allows someone to use the bathroom sink and mirror while someone else is taking a shower. In Kidani, the tub and vanity are in the same space with a small inner room with just the toilet so if someone is taking a shower, the others have no access to the bathroom sink and mirror.

You can also do 4 plus an under 3 in VGC studios. It would be fairly crowded, but if that's the best way to work it for your family then it will be fine.

I'd bring an an air mattress and sheet/blanket for the two year old - it will be less to trip over than the pack and play (which tend to be small for most two year olds anyway). If you don't mind sharing a room with your SIL it really doesn't make any difference if other people would find it uncomfortable - and if I had a five year old and a two year old, I think a 19 year old pair of hands might be worth one bathroom

We were looking at the 360 room views to see where we could stuff suitcases like under the bathroom sink and using the drawers. I think you are right about the 19 year old pair of hands but I would like someone to ride the adult rides with! DH will not ride the cool rides and my kids are too small.
