ADR Changers - We still don't know what we want for dinner!

ok, I'm down to like 45 days ....... still debating changing and concerned because (dum,de, dum, dum)....... I had to have my gall bladder out 10 days ago!!!!

I guess surgery went well but, now I'm not sure what my body will allow me to eat!!! I really didnt want to have it done before the trip but, 2 doctors recommended that it be done now. I also really didnt want to risk it becoming a medical emergency while I was gone ( or on the ship)

So, now I'm afraid that all the food that I looked so forward to enjoying might not work out as planned.....

OMG! First off....glad you're okay & that the surgery went well. I think you made a good decision going ahead & having the surgery done. That would indeed be terrible to have a medical emergency at Disney....or even worse....on the boat! :scared1:

Have the doctors given you diet restrictions or guidelines?

Welcome! So glad to see you here!

I think your plan looks great. I do like the breakfast ADRs before Rope Drop. You can get so much accomplished without having to break in the middle of the morning. And I think doing it before RD may help with the FP enforcement.

As for HBD.....I have heard some people say that they really like it. But, if you move to one of the others, you could maybe do a 715pm ADR so y'all could do Characterpalooza & then take your time getting to the restaurant.

oh yeah, i'd give up food before i'd give up characterpalooza... and that's saying a lot coming from me.

i've realized that i really rushed into making my ADR's. we kind of made our dates and then were like, crap, ADR's are in a few days. Now i've decided that we must have dessert at T-Rex fro my little dino lover. Only my schedule doesn't allow for many opportunities to fit it in and where it does, there are no openings so far. wish me luck!

I hope you can get TRex. My best friend & her husband just took their kids on their 1st Disney trip this past Feb. They ate at TRex one night & loved it! She texted me a pic of their dessert....OMG! It was huge & looked delicious! I'm sure you probably already know this, but just in case you don't......don't use Disney's online system to try to get an ADR at TRex, call them. They usually have more available than what shows up online with Disney.

I thinks it's still trial and error with foods. They say to stay away from fatty and fried foods but, still not sure on how my system will adjust to everything else. I dont want to have to give up all the yumminess that WDW and the cruise has to offer

I would probably give it a few weeks & see how I'm doing with certain foods. Maybe keep a food journal so you know what kinds of things not to order while on vacation. :confused3

Okeydoky, so i guess i've officially made my first change! I added T-Rex at 8:15 on our arrival night. I think we will land about 4:30, go and check in, head over to DTD. My hope is that we will be there early enough to eat at Earl's and then head over to T-Rex for the Chocolate Explosion dessert. James will be on cloud nine, but i think it will be a bit loud, so a decent compromise. If we end up changing around with our signature we can always use this as a full meal if needed, hopefully move it up a bit if we do that.

Yay! You got a TRex ADR! I think that sounds like a really good plan! :thumbsup2 That chocolate explosion dessert is what my friend's family had when they ate there. She had texted me a picture. OMG! It is huge & looks delicious! Enjoy! :goodvibes

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. Have none of us really not changed any reservations or are we just not fessing up to it??? LOL
CRT came out with a new breakfast menu and I now want to try and score one of those hard to get breakfast reservations. I cant believe my trip is a month from Wednesday!!!! Have never eaten in the castle and for 2TS , I wasnt too interested in any of the meals but, the new breakfast does entice me. I am checking daily incase something might open up ( there's just 2 of us so perhaps... and it doesn have to be prior to park opening ) however, if I am able to score one , then I will have to revamp some of my others!!!!
I'm glad based on Tuttos new menu that I didnt plan on going there. Nothing on it really appeals to me. I'm still on the fence about the menu and Rose and Crown but, it's gotten a great deal of good reviews and I have the highly demanded 7:40 ressie for Illuminations so, I'm thinking we will keep it. Decided not to do Garden Grocer and am having a case of water delivered by Costco for under 10 dollars. Picked up 3 plastic containers to put in suitcases with pastries etc for breakfast. Picked up a $8.50 coffee pot from Walmart and will take it in my carry on ( we're staying at POP so, no coffee pot in room. and then I will just trash it when done). Bought powdered creamer and Maxwell House coffee in the filters so, I think I'm good to go. Gotta start packing soon. Stomach is doing okay from surgery, still figuring out what I can eat but, most seems to be okay. My DD and I are starting diet on Tuesday, hopefully I can lose 15-20 pounds in the 30 days. Doing the HCg, it worked before , I just need to stay focused.

I have held strong to my ADRs....so far. I think I'm just too busy with other things right now to obsess over them right now. But, once things calm down in about 3 weeks, that could be another story. :lmao:

I haven't even looked at the new menus! I hope you're able to get a breakfast ADR for CRT. I think something will probably open up before you leave.

You sound very prepared! That's a good idea to just have Garden Grocer deliver water.

Glad to hear your stomach is doing okay! :goodvibes Hopefully, all will be well for your trip. Good luck on the diet! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I'm glad to hear y'all didn't have a long wait @ Beaches & Cream. My plan is to get there right when they open, so hopefully that will help minimize our wait.

Yeah, we're doing dinner at 'Ohana for my DH. It's one place he's been dying to go to & I've never been able to get an ADR before. I definitely think it's a "man thing".

i could be a vegetarian and still would have no problem going there... the salad is so good, and the dessert is drool worthy!

i'm with amanda- i haven't changed yet, but am stlll contemplating it, just had other priorities at the moment. what is the new CRt breakfast?

Ooohhh....you have me very interested in the salad now! And I have heard sooo many good things about the dessert. Can't wait to give it a try! :goodvibes

Lord help me......
Believe it or not , my trip is in 2 1/2 weeks!!! Unbelievable. Surgery update...
Doing fine ( I think ), still some soreness but, in all seems fine. Was doing okay on most food until...... DIET.... HCG!!!! 14 pounds down in 2 weeks.... Hoping and praying I can drop another 10 before we go..... Slobbering over all the food porn, reviews and menus.....
I havent changed anything but......
There are 3 breakfasts that I want to try. I have no idea how we will fit these in and the likelihood is probably not. We are staying at POP and the places I want to go are at Poly ( Tonga toast ), YC ( Chocolate waffles ), SSR (Banana Bread French Toast). Breakfast is one of my 3 favorite meals !!! Seriously, I do love me some breakfast however, I dont eat for awhile after I wake up We are rope drop , morning EMH people so, I dont see how we will fit in any of this. We have CP for breakfast before park opening on MK morning. The other situation that has arisen is that June extended hours have been posted!!!! There are nights when MK is now open until midnight, AK is open an hour later and HS has 2 F shows and extended hours. I'm now debating if I want to change my F package and just wing it with the crowds and possible switch things around a bit. Not thrilled about Mama Melrose but, I dont want to go back to Epcot just to eat ( want to go to Via Napoli ). Also, now there is some sort of Cars display on June 2 and 3 in DTD and my daughter wants to see that ( a 17 year old that has had two different Cars lunchboxes for the past two years). Its only open until 7 so, we can either squeeze it in on our first night ( our plane is set to arrive at 4:15) and eat in DTD (instead of the new AofA food court) but, I think that might be too rushed. Which would mean that on Sunday, we would go from MK to DTD and then head to Poly for our 5:20 Ohana ressie and then back to MK for evening EMH ( now until 2 am but, I wont last ) and our AAA preferred fireworks viewing. Still pondering flipping some other stuff around but.......

sorry, correction to my above ramble.... Banana Bread FT is at Olivias at OKW (wrong DVC property originally listed)

I'm glad to hear you're doing well since your surgery! Good luck with the remaining weight loss. I need to get back on track myself with trying to lose weight.

I am really excited to try Kona Cafe for breakfast this year. At home, I rarely eat breakfast. But, in Disney, there are just so many yummy breakfast options. Could you do an early ADR at Kona (730am) & then head to MK? Or is there 1 of those 3 places you listed that would be more of a priority than the others?

As for the Cars display at DTD, I would probably go for the Sunday option. It may be a little rushed getting to all of the places but I think it would be doable.

I haven't been on this thread for a long time. I haven't changed my ADR's since the last time I did in Feb. WOHOO! But I may be adding some if our driving turns to flying. See our plan below.

Sunday: arrive at Disney around 8pm (we are driving). Hang out at the hotel and get settled in.

Monday: AM EMH at AK, leave before parade (we've seen it). Hotel time. Dinner at 50's Prime Time (1st time) at HS, then stay for PM EMH at HS till kids are ready to go.

Tuesday: Relax most of the day or due a couple hours at MK, then head to Epcot. Dinner at Akershus (1st time) with the Princesses. Then stay for EMH at Epcot.

Wednesday: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (1st time), then go to MK. Head back in the late afternoon for naps. Dinner at T-Rex (1st time), then shopping at DTD.

Thursday: HS before park opening at H & V. Stay there till afternoon. Afternoon at the hotel. Dinner at Chef Mickey's(repeat). Maybe go to MK afterwards for fireworks.

Friday: This will be a relaxing day for us, maybe do some park time in the AM. Dinner at Garden Grove. Most likely head back to hotel.

Saturday: Breakfast at Kona. (ADR made, but may or may not cancel). Driving back home.

Now DH got 2 free vouchers for airline tix and we are trying to use them for this trip. If not we will drive and go somewhere else with them. But right now no availability to come home on the days we need to fly back. They said to keep trying. WEll if we get these tix we will have to arrive on Saturday instead of Sunday and fly out either Saturday or Sunday. So if we fly I was thinking of adding Whispering Canyon for lunch or dinner on Sunday. We would be doing MK Sunday night if we flew out. Now depending on leaving we would have to add one or two ADR's as well. Oh boy. I am hoping to fly.

And I changed resorts as well. Great deal at ASmu instead of Pop. Hopefully that will not change again.

Your plans look good. Pretty relaxing which is nice. Working out free airfare ,what a bonus!! I still havent changed anything recently. Still up in the air about a few ( Mama Melrose F pkg, Rose and Crown ) but probably will keep them because of time and flexiblity that they give us. Will try and maybe squeeze in breakfast but dont want to be running all over just for food. Would love to try Via Napoli but already have two meals at Epcot. Otherwise, I think we're good. Ready to start packing this weekend. Cant believe we leave in less than 2 weeks!!!

Your plans sound great! I hope you can get the airfare worked out with the free vouchers. That's fantastic! Airfare is such a killer...UGH! That's why we're going to try driving this year.

I would consider keeping the Kona breakfast. We've had dinner there & really enjoyed it. And I've heard the breakfast is wonderful.

OMG! I can't believe your trip is right around the corner! :cool1: I'm so anxious for our trip to get here. We are now just over the 1 year mark from when we were last at Disney. I need my happy place!

Can't believe my trip is in a week!!!! Figured that I would check in..... The only ADR that I have changed was my Le Cellier lunch. I was able to get a little later ( I had 2:30 ) and scored a 2:50 ( gives us a little bit more flexibility and snack time). Havent made any additional ADRs for breakfast, I think those would be easy to come by or walk up ( there are only 2 of us )and I would want them early. I want to see how the week starts off because I'm afraid if I do breakfasts OOP, I will wind up with too many CS credits left. Plateaued on weight loss ( havent cheated and am trying not to get discouraged ). Getting psyched because I can eat in a week!!!! Happy Memorial day to all

This thread is soooooooooooo me! It took me weeks to decide on the resort... one week Beach Club was perfect after a few moments of love over Yacht Club...then I switched to the Poly...then it was back and forth between revisiting WL or trying AKL...then decided to go a different route and booked a Royal Room at POR. I was booked but still unsure, so I told my girls (trip is a surprise) that a friend was going with her girls and was staying in one of these new Royal Rooms. So, I showed it to them to see what kind of reaction I got. They liked it, but said that if it were them- they'd want to stay where we stayed last trip. After much clarification and asking them what they thought about the other resorts that I'd liked- they still said Contemporary...so I called and rebooked everything with the Contemporary.

Well, once I had that squared away it was time to plan ADRs. It was my first of MANY charts. It took months but I finally whittled it down to the "perfect" plan. Well, that was until I started getting scared about 'Ohana availability on our first night. Come day 180 (last Sunday), I got a decent time, but the damage was done. As soon as my brain started thinking of alternatives (and asking opinions of friends and DH didn't help as they added more suggestions to the mix)- I was all over the place changing things up. It also didn't help that Garden Grill wasn't loaded when I booked- so I booked a back up plan - which got me thinking even more.

Since last Sunday...I have changed the following...

- first night meal is now Cali Grill instead of 'Ohana- just more convenient and felt a little more special way to kick off the trip
- I booked Rose & Crown timed for Illuminations as our Garden Grill back up plan- then decided how much of a nightmare that is so I cxld and booked Via Napoli - then I was reminded of how DH thinks all pizza is created equally (even the really good stuff) and would flip out over the price of their pizzas so I booked Kouzzina - then Garden Grill finally opened up and I booked it, but I started having second thoughts on the time, location, food, and the whole "do we really need another character meal"- so I cxld and rebooked for Biergarten - then I got scared since the last time I ate there it was a menu and I worry about the buffet quality - so I cxld and rebooked for Tutto Italia...and that's where I'm at now
- I canceled our 2nd night meal at 1900 Park Fare and rebooked for 'Ohana since I don't know if I want to deal with crowds exiting MK on a non-EMH night, Cinderella is no longer a fave of either girl, and the mixed reviews on the food scare me. Plus a 7:40p at 'Ohana and plan to just relax on the beach afterwards for Wishes. Of course, there is a part of me that is thinking... I really want to try new things this trip, so maybe I should double back...cxl 'Ohana...and get a later ADR at 1900 PF so we can try that for the first time and then watch Wishes for the first time from the GF dock. DECISIONS!!!!
- I decided to switch around some things with our third day and our last day breakfast. I really want to try Kona this trip but the only place I could work it in was for a late breakfast on day 3 since we have 8am apts at BBB. We had the 8:05a at Crystal Palace on our last day...and while we enjoy it- DH reminded me that we're already getting the pre-park opening experience on our BBB day. Plus he noted that while he likes it, he doesn't love it...so I added a late 1900 Park Fare breakfast on day 3 (my fave character breakfast) and Kona for breakfast on our last day (also thinking of trying to be first family at MK- so we won't be dinged by the CC guar fee if we are lucky enough to be sprinkled w/pixie dust and chosen)
- on top of that- I've tried to perfect a few ADR times- ya know...5 min here 15 min there.

OK- that is all, but I feel like it's a lot for a week. I'm really hoping I can just be happy with this plan. I feel so crazy with all of the booking and rebooking I've done in just a week!

Yay! :woohoo: Your trip is almost here! :woohoo:

And you've done well with your ADR changes! Sounds like that later Le Cellier ADR will work out well for y'all. Don't get discouraged on plateauing with the weight loss. Just try to change something up a bit & that may help trigger it.

I made one ADR change late last night. On Monday, Oct. 1st I was planning for us to go to Islands of Adventure for most of the day (leaving around 2pm). We were going to head to Epcot from there for the 30th anniversary & I had a 5pm ADR for Chefs de France. Now, we will still be going to IoA (leaving between 2 & 4) but we will head to our resort. We will get freshened up & then head to Poly. We are going to let our little boy go to the Neverland Club that night while DH & I eat at Citrocos at 730pm. :yay:
