ADR Changers - We still don't know what we want for dinner!

I knew I wasnt the only one!! I am currently having some ADR issues! Maybe I can get some good opinions here! So we are booked at POR for 7 nights on DDP with reg tickets no hoppers (yet I hope to change this cause we have never gone without PH but to justify the price increase to DH from value to mod I had to possibly give up PH:scared1:) So here goes!

Day 1

DAY 2
DHS
Ohana 500 (a must do!)

Day 3
EPCOT
Le Cellier 1pm

Day 4

Dinner @ LTT or WCC or TONYS??????? WWYD

Day 5

Day 6
DHS
SCI FI 500pm OOP (new to us)

Day 7 last night :sad1:
MK
Dinner @ LTT or WCC or TONYS WWYD??????

LTT and WCC would be new to us.
Please let me know you think I should do!!! LTT would be better if they offered the ooey gooey toffee cake at dinner! The craisin cake doesnt sound too yummy!

Hi & Welcome! You are definitely not alone in your ADR troubles. I'll probably be posting some of my own later tonight.

All of your plans sound really great. But, as to what to do on your MK nights.....

We ate at LTT on our last trip & really enjoyed it. I won't lie - the dinner is nothing spectacular but it was like a nice, home cooked meal. We were so full that we passed on dessert, so I can't help with that part of it.

We have not gone to Tony's or WCC yet. I know Tony's gets a lot of mixed reviews but I do know some people who like it. With WCC, it seems like most people like the food. To me the 2 factors to consider with WCC are (1) do you mind going out of the park for dinner and (2) are you ok with the "antics"?

I know this probably didn't solve your problem but hopefully it at least gave you some food for thought! Tee Hee - food for thought! :lmao: Ok, sorry for the punny moment. Let us know what you decide!

So I think I am sold on LTT ! My mother mentioned when she went on her last trip in august the booked a second dinner at LTT because it was so good! She told me the place is nice the staff is wonderful and the food is YUMMY!! so one choice down one to go! this one is the harder of the two! Im still trying to decide!:surfweb:

I think LTT is a good choice! We did enjoy our meal there last May & I would definitely consider eating there again. So, is the last choice between Tony's & WCC?

So, I'll get the party started with 1 of my many ADR conundrums. In real life, we are not big breakfast eaters. My DS (he'll be 4 in March) likes breakfast a lot. But he's good with anything from pop tarts to a full on breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, etc). But, for some reason, in our Disney life, I find myself wanting to book all of those table service breakfast meals. These are all of the ones I'm considering for our December trip:

Kona Cafe (this would be our 1st time)
Chef Mickey's (we've done it before & our son loves it)
Crystal Palace (would be our 1st time; our son likes Pooh bear & friends but doesn't love them)
Kouzzina (another 1st for us)
Cinderella's Royal Table (yet another 1st for us - I know I'm the only girl in my family but darn it I want to eat in the castle! :lmao:)
Tusker House (another 1st - this 1 is probably at the bottom of my list)

While I think they would all be great, I don't want that many big breakfasts during our weeklong vacation. I can't tell you how many times I've changed my minds on which ones we'll do this time around. Any words of wisdom out there about my list?

I'd skip Crystal Palace, it's ok but a bit meh unless you love Pooh &co.

Tusker House breakfast is AWESOME, do it!

Love Chef Mic too, even more in fact, but Tusker food is more interesting. I'd choose breakfast.

Cinderella's Royal Table, GO FOR IT! I recommend dinner though, or if ou can't get that; lunch. Eating in the castle is the most magical meal possible in WDW, LLLLOVE IT!!

Ok, I did it.....
Figured we would go with the Le Cellier lunch on the morning EMH at HS and then head to a late lunch at Epcot. This will mean 2 days in a row ( after our late Rose and Crown , Illuminations evening EMH at Epcot the night before). I figured this would be a more leisurely day and we could stroll Epcot, Boardwalk in the afternoon and maybe do the balloon ride at DTD in the evening. It will probably be an early night.
That would mean the next day would be
mornning EMH at MK- 11:30 lunch at LTT (unless we decide CS in park or monorail resort), and then Boma dinner at 6:30. Probably head to AK for a revisit in the afternoon and hopefully hit the rapids and maybe the parade
(my daughter doesnt care for the parades but I think they're fun -but I wont sit for an hour waiting for them). This way if we want to go back to MK we can ( and they might extend the hours, since it's the first week in June).

I also reserved Kona for the next night for dinner incase we do CS for lunch the previous day. Not quite sure how early we are eating lunch with my relatives and I think they will probably be gone by mid afternoon. Since will be our last day at WDW we would like to do something after they go but, not too late as we have to sail off into Fantasyland bright and early in the morning.

Hopefully, I think I am done with the reservations........ (famous last words)

Sounds like you have some really good ADR plans! I like the idea of the Kona dinner. Yummy!

I can't remember if I have asked you this or not (if I have, I'm sorry)....will you be doing a trip report? I'd love to hear about your trip and about the Fantasy. I went ahead & booked our 2013 trip last week. Hopefully, we'll be doing a 7 night Eastern Caribbean sailing next May. What itinerary are y'all doing on the Fantasy?

Well I've done it.... I went online and snagged a reservation for OHana's at 5:00 with only 2 1/2 months out from my trip :woohoo: and now I have to change the rest of my reservations again (for the 3rd time).

So far I have Coral Reef, Teppan Edo, 1900 Park Fare, and then OHana's. We are staying at BC so I orginally had Cape May, but have since decided that I wouldn't need to eat seafood twice in one trip and have decided to try something else.

Haven't decided what to stick in this hole, but it will be on a day that we spend at Epcot and am trying to eat somewhere new, which would mean that Tutto Italia and Les Chef's is out... any suggestions?

Yep thats the last decision I have! Im sure I will ponder this for sometime cause Im crazy like that LOL! My poor DH doesnt want to listen anymore haha! usuaully starts off with " SOOOO I was thinking if I changed this one we could go here and do this one what do you think?" his reply"what ever will make you happy honey" :lmao: That doesnt help!!! lol

That's awesome that you were able to get an Ohana ADR so close to your trip! :thumbsup2

Hmmm....as for the Epcot day ADR, what about Via Napoli or Rose & Crown? :confused3

Don't worry....I'm crazy like that, too! :rotfl: Your DH sounds exactly like mine. And while it's sweet that they just want us to be happy with the planning, it doesn't help when you're trying to make decisions.

I honestly don't know which one I'd choose out of those 2. Is there one menu that you prefer over the other?

Honestly I could go either way! Tonys pros I love italian (olive garden type is fine with me!) its in MK we went there on our honeymoon CONs on our honeymoon the service we iffy and there are alot of not so good reviews! WCC PROs I love cornbread and I would LOVE to see the inside of WL CONs I have to leave the park to eat and im not the biggest BBQ fan (not that I hate it its just not my fave but DH loves BBQ lol) Quite the conundrum!

Wow , great thread ! I am joining the club for sure ! We originally had OKW booked for the family from Oct 6 to 13th , then after a marc break trip to ASMu just me and the kids , I came up with the brilliant idea of having a kids free trip .Thankfully the couple I am renting points from are extremely understanding and went along with my plans to change dates and resorts .
So now it will just be my man and I at kidani village from Oct 11(my b-day) until Oct 16th on the DDxP .

After much blood , sweat and tears , we came up with the following (had to nudge the man in the right direction)

here is what we have for suppers

Fulton's
CG
Yaghtman
BOMA
Artist Point ( I am wavering on this one , since DF has not been to Disney since he was a kid , I am thinking tht some of the more themed restaurants might be more fun)( WCC or Sci-Fi)

Lunch

Paradisio 37
T-Rex
Mama Melrose for fantasmic , but now am wavering between Portabella or Via Napoli or the newly renovated Tutto Italia

breakfasts

Cape May
Kona
HOB gospel brunch

all and any opinions welcome , Libra here , so hard to make decisions ,lol

We are doing the Western on the Fantasy. This will be our third Western (not sure why but, it always works out that way). Last time was 2006 so, it's been awhile and my daughter barely remembers it. It will be very different sailing with a 17 year old vs a 11 year old . I'm excited for you on the 7 day. Once you do 7, you wont want to do less. when in May are you traveling. we've always gone the end of May , beginning of June ( this actually will be our latest date June 9) and have had no weather issues. Our first cruise was in Dec and we had major weather problems then.

Excited about your 180 tomorrow. Defintely got to report in on what you got ( and then we'll see how long you keep it before it's changed - its becoming an obcession , next time I want a longer stay at WDW at DxDP so that I can enjoy more of the restaurants

Welcome to the Club! :goodvibes

It sounds like you have some great ADRs picked out for y'all. Since it'll be just the two of you, I would probably keep Artist Point. I've heard so many good things about it.

I'm hoping to get an ADR for Via Napoli for our upcoming trip. It gets so many good reviews. Although, I'm interested to see what the menu will be when they reopen Tutto Italia.

Yeah, I can definitely see that once you do a 7 day cruise anything less won't do. I'm really excited to see what it's like to do a long cruise. Our sail date is May 18, 2013. I think it'll be good that it's right in the middle of May. When we went on the Dream last year, it was the first week of May. The weather was great!

Excited about your 180 tomorrow. Defintely got to report in on what you got ( and then we'll see how long you keep it before it's changed - its becoming an obcession , next time I want a longer stay at WDW at DxDP so that I can enjoy more of the restaurants

I'm so excited & anxious to make my ADRs in the morning! I will definitely let y'all know what I get!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I am here to give my ADR report! I woke up bright & early (4:45 am) to do my online ADRs. I had read on the boards that lots of people are having trouble being able to do their ADRs online on their 180 day. Of course, this was the case for myself. :headache: The website showed our reservation but couldn't find it when it came time to book ADRs. :confused3 So, I finally just gave up & waited until I could call in at 6am. I dialed in at 5:59 am & got someone right away. All was going well....she did my first 3 ADRs then she started having phone troubles, saying she couldn't hear me. :sad2: But, the CM was great....she told me she was hanging up & calling me back. And she did just that.

Once we reconnected her phone problem was solved & we were able to quickly confirm the rest of my ADRs. So, here is what I ended up with:

Drumroll Please...........

Sat., 9/29:
No ADRs

Sun., 9/30:
Lunch at Beaches & Cream (they don't take ADRs, so none made)

Mon., 10/1:
5:00pm dinner at Les Chefs de France (call us crazy - we are going to Epcot just for dinner & it is the 30th anniversary of Epcot  )

Tues., 10/2:
7:30am breakfast at 'Ohana

Wed., 10/3:
8:05am breakfast at Hollywood & Vine
4:55pm dinner (F! package) at Mama Melrose

Thurs., 10/4:
6:20pm dinner at Via Napoli

Fri., 10/5:
8:10am breakfast at Crystal Palace
7:05pm dinner at 'Ohana

Sat., 10/6:
7:30am breakfast at Kona Cafe

That's it folks!

congrats on getting your ADR's ! We went to beaches and cream at a busy time in march and only had about 20 minutes to wait , and it was worth the wait :thumbsup2

Now DF wants Ohana's , grrrrrrr , seems like I will have to give u one of the signatures , will have to be AP :sad2: , I guess I need to be fair and let him pick some restaurants , and like all good cavemen , the extremely large amounts of food , followed by huge skewers of meat , what man can resist ?:lmao:

Thank you! I'm glad to hear y'all didn't have a long wait @ Beaches & Cream. My plan is to get there right when they open, so hopefully that will help minimize our wait.

Yeah, we're doing dinner at 'Ohana for my DH. It's one place he's been dying to go to & I've never been able to get an ADR before. I definitely think it's a "man thing".

Congrats.... Looks like a great lineup. I'm doing my CP breakfast and Ohana dinner on the same day as well ( mine is a few months earlier )

How long do you think it will be until you change it??? (LOL)- hopefully you're resting now. Glad things went smoothly

okay Amanda, i figure i might as well get it over with and join you here...

Here are my initial ADR's- and the reason's i'm thinking of changing some of them.

Thurs Epcot

Akershus 9:50 a.m.

I think the goal will be to make rope drop, stop by the Character Connection, and then make a leisurely walk to Norway. I’ll check lines and either have Chris grab FP while in line at the character connection, or we’ll grab them on the way to Norway.

Friday Magic Kingdom

Crystal Palace 8:15 a.m.

This was totally random... i started thinking about preopening pictures... and if we don't do the Signature then we will have one additional ADR to fit in somewhere...

Ohana 7:50 p. m.

Saturday Animal Kingdom

Tusker House 9:30 am

We'll just go in and get a set of fast passes for the safari first. It takes forever to walk back there anyway. at least we won't have to rush.

Sunday Party (and some MK)

Crystal Palace 1:00 p.m.

If we end up deciding against HBD and choosing a one credit meal instead, then this one would get cancelled and replaced with something.

Monday Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Brown Derby 7:00 p.m.

I just wanted to make it late enough to not interrupt characterpalooza

I'm contemplating changing Hollywood Brown Derby to Yachtsman or Captain's.

And i'm contemplating changing the timing on many others so that i can concentrate on the short lines in the mornings. I had neglected to take in the fact that i can no longer fastpass horde... i just have no idea yet...

Welcome! So glad to see you here!

I think your plan looks great. I do like the breakfast ADRs before Rope Drop. You can get so much accomplished without having to break in the middle of the morning. And I think doing it before RD may help with the FP enforcement.

As for HBD.....I have heard some people say that they really like it. But, if you move to one of the others, you could maybe do a 715pm ADR so y'all could do Characterpalooza & then take your time getting to the restaurant.

ok, I'm down to like 45 days ....... still debating changing and concerned because (dum,de, dum, dum)....... I had to have my gall bladder out 10 days ago!!!!

I guess surgery went well but, now I'm not sure what my body will allow me to eat!!! I really didnt want to have it done before the trip but, 2 doctors recommended that it be done now. I also really didnt want to risk it becoming a medical emergency while I was gone ( or on the ship)

So, now I'm afraid that all the food that I looked so forward to enjoying might not work out as planned.....
