Shutters not so much of a Fantasy on the MV

What to say? They were completely overwhelmed on the Fantasy MV. Pictures taken during the day may or may not show up before they close for the evening. Pictures taken at noon would appear in the kiosks after pictures taken later in the day. Aquaduck was a disaster. Is it to be expected of the passengers to have to stand in groups and pass around stacks and stacks of photos to find theirs? Worse than the format on the Magic/Wonder where they print them and post them on the boards.

Passengers who had sailed the Dream MV said the borders on all their photos said "Maiden Voyage". There were very limited MV borders on the Fantasy. We asked for 2 of our photos to be changed and they did. However, we asked for them to be on the CD, as we weren't buying prints. Finally, it went all the way to the manager, Christina, and she agreed they would burn a special CD with the 2 photos. She said the CD would be ready the morning of disembarkation.

The last night and disembarkation morning was a nightmare. The line to pick up the CDs that were paid for was outrageous. We finally managed to get our 20 photo CD but the special 2 photo CD was nowhere to be found. They are supposed to be mailing it to us. I'm not hopeful. We'll see. :headache:

Then, the last bit of horror comes when we get home. We ordered the 20 print option from the CD. The CD contains all your photos but they set up the CD so you can only unencrypt the package amount - 10, 20 or all. We ordered the 20 package, but the CD will only let us unencrypt 10!

In the software, there is a "Help" button where it submits a request to the "Get the Picture!" people. I submitted a request but haven't heard anything back.

Has anyone else had this issue with their CD? :confused3

I am sorry you are having so much trouble!

Your post has me very confused

I thought if you bought the CD, they gave you a release so that you could print any pictures you want off the CD. So, if I buy the CD, I will be able to "look at" all of my photos but not be able to print them all?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated regarding the CD.
sounds horrifying!!

And I do remember on the last day of the Dream, that morning pick up was a ZOO!!! :scared1:

There are different pricing tiers. One will let you keep 10, another 20. I think I saw one for 30? And then there's a price where you can keep all the photos on the CD.

Sorry you had trouble, OP.

They had 3 CD packages:

10 photos for $149.95
20 photos for $249.95
all photos for $349.95 (add all prints for additional $50)

The CDs contain all your photos, but if you choose the 10 or 20 package, you can only unlock the appropriate number. We chose the 20 photo package so we expect to get 20 pictures unlocked. The software is only allowing 10 to be unlocked.

We actually only wanted 15 pictures, but if we got the 10 photo CD, the cost of $19.95 per print (for the extra 5 prints) made it more cost effective to just get the 20 photo CD. Besides, a CD travels much better than prints in luggage anyway.

They know you are a captive audience and don't have a choice. You do have a choice - it's called "take your own photos". Problem is, they do everything they can to prevent you from taking pictures yourself - including lying about the interaction of your camera with their strobes.

It's a shame to hear you felt this way on the Fantasy. We've only been on the classic ships and they've always been great about letting us take our own pictures, no guilt trip involved. We've also sailed Oasis of the Seas (same photo company) and they were fine with it also. I wonder if they are changing the way they do things, or maybe they just have a new crew as well.

They have never had an issue for us and others around us with taking your own pics, the only thing is they can't do it, but someone else can.

They may have new staff and start up problems We had no trouble with our pictures on the Dream last year .

I know they can't touch our equipment, but when they could stand in the position where they shoot from and give direction (stand here, move to the right, etc.) that would be fine. The problem was, they would walk up to you so the person taking the photo with your camera couldn't get a clear shot. It wasn't an accident, as they would approach and back up from different angles depending on where the camera was trying to shoot from. :confused3

I did get an email late today from their tech support. Evidently they had a technical problem on the boat and assigned the wrong picture quantities to some CDs. They don't know which ones so they have to wait on complaints. I had to email them a copy of my receipt and they will fix the authorized unlock number on their server.

Sorry you had that problem with the photographers. We never had that issue on the MV with taking pictures with our camera or asking a CM to take them [not the shutter's photogs though]. We found Shutters to be chaos the entire week with wrong pictures in our folder every day.
