Which ressie should I keep: National or Budget?

I made two reservations in case the Air France code ended up not working out for National, which it seems to be fine based on posts here.
I need to cancel either National or Budget. National is $340 with a standard car, and Budget is $320 with a Ford Escape "or similar". Since these are so similar, which should I stay with? I've only rented with National before and I'm an Emerald member, but my ressie isn't Emerald Aisle because of a coupon I used requiring me to go the counter (and now I can't cancel and rebook because rates are higher now).

I was leaning towards National based on threads about the Sunpass transponder but wanted to know if you all thought one company was better than another since all other things are pretty much equal.

Thank you!

Have you tried using the Budget code x474200? We booked with Budget last year using this code and got the best deal on a minivan. The code is good for every class of vehicle and not just minivans. We never had a problem with the transponder either going from the airport to Disney. If you use the cash lanes there is no problem with the transponder.

I did try that code, but the Wendie Offer is a lot better deal for that time period. Thanks though!

I would cancel budget and go with national. Even if you are a budget fastbreak member, you still have to wait in line at the outside booth and are assigned a car. The national self-serve kiosk is much quicker and getting to pick your own car from the aisle corresponding to the class you reserved is a nice option too.

Is your National coupon an upgrade? I've used coupons on every trip and never had to go to the counter....just curious.

I've used Budget and while they are fine, there was some "hard" sell at the counter. Nothing beats National and being able to walk out, choose your car and leave. I'm a huge National rental car fan and will pay more just to rent from them. But yesterday I got a great deal when the rates dropped for my pickup next Thursday!! I'm thrilled!

Thank you both for your nudge towards National. I will cancel Budget and go with them. I hate hard sells! My coupon is one for using a VISA card so not sure if that's why I have to go to the counter. In fact, I need to find which coupon it was in case I have to print out and show them! Thanks!
