Do all the printed photos from Shutters come with borders? I'd like to purchase a few during our cruise, but do not want borders on them.

Not all the pictures have borders. We have several formal night pictures with no borders.

It may be possible to ask them to reprint without borders, if there's one you like with a border, I'm not sure .

If you don't care about the borders then get the CD. You get ALL your pictures to go through later and won't have to waste any time sitting in Shutters trying to choose which ones you want to purchase.

I am only getting a couple of pics, so I don't think I want to spend the money on a cd. Hopefully, if there's one I like with a border, they can reprint it.

All the pictures are printed with some kind of border or label on them, even if it's just the name of the ship. In the past, before the CD, I'd have them reprint pictures I wanted to use for other purposes, without the border, or with a smaller border in a few instances. I stopped doing that once the CDs were available, since the CD photos didn't have any borders on them, and I only purchased prints when I really needed the border.

Or at least that was the case until we sailed on the Fantasy last week! It didn't really register when I was looking at the photos on the kiosks that they had borders on them, when I'd never seen the borders before on the other ships, until I got my CD and was surprised that all of the pictures had borders! Now I'm kicking myself for not getting some of the pictures printed without the borders. I'd just assumed they wouldn't be there, but that was something new on the Fantasy.

They were always able to do this in the past for me when I asked. Try to get your request in as early as possible, as it gets a little nuts toward the end of the cruise.

As per my note above, if you are sailing the Fantasy, you will have to ask them to remove the borders even if you are getting the CD, as they have all the borders on the CD now!

As of last week they were doing the CD with borders on all of the pictures on the Fantasy. The person I spoke with in Shutters made it sound like this would be done on all of the ships due to guest comments in the past.

You can have them reprint a picture without the borders during the cruise.

Of course, it was already printed as an 8x10 with a border. We did notice a few signs around Shutters stating that they will not reprint photos... I wonder if that policy is a new thing?

They have never reprinted an 8x10 as a 6x8. Certain photos come as 8x10s and unless you purchase that one and get the 5x7 & wallet package they won't change it. Of course, you can always print out the online release to reprint when you get home to the size you would like. They have never had an issue reprinting the same size without the borders. I asked about this on the Fantasy's MV since all of the CD pics come with the border now.

$350 for the photo CD from Shutters, and because they all have borders, I can't print any of them in a size other than 8x10. My wife needs these for scrapbooking. I'm absolutely livid. Why in the world would we not get the border-free versions on the CD?

You can crop and resize if you have the CD. Either yourself at home, or when you upload the picture to wherever you are printing the picture at.
