Hi,

Is there an advantage to purchasing the photo packages via the on-line reservation system than purchasing them when you go to Shutters on the Ship?

Do they off the same deals on the ship as they offer on-line?

thanks

The 10 and 30 credit packages are only available online, precruise. The 20 credit package as well as a 40 (or sometimes 50) credit packages are available onboard. The price for the 20 credit package is the same online, or onboard.

If I buy the 10 credit package prior to the cruise (it's just me and DH, we probably won't buy that many pics) and want to upgrade to 20 on the cruise, can I do that without incurring any type of upcharge for not doing it in advance?

AFAIK, yes. You can upgrade/downgrade as you wish. We had purchased a 20 credit package on our last cruise. As it turned out, we only wanted 3 pictures. Shutters credited back the purchase price of the 20 credit package and charged us for just 3 pictures.

I was wondering whether or not if I bought the $199 30 credit photo package in advance online if once I was on the boat I could upgrade to the cd so I called DCL and they said no you could not upgrade. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks for the info.

So I do not see an advantage to ordering before you cruise, plus there's a $1.00 service fee you have to pay. Don't know what that is all about.

If you thought you'd be in the 10 photo credit range, you would be better to preorder it, because if I'm understanding correctly, the smallest package on the cruise is 20 credits.

That's it :thumbsup2

If you feel that you may not want enough pictures for a 20 credit package, but probably more 3 or 4 pictures, then you want the 10 credit package, and it's only available precruise, online.

If you think you will be crusing DCL again, the unused pictures credits are good on another cruise. I purchased the 20 on our last cruise and had one left over and plan to use it on our next cruise in October. They don't expire.

That might be an option.

Oh that option of using them on future cruises is good.

Thanks for the tip.

Where did you see that the credits don't expire and you can use them on subsequent cruises?

There have been some changes to packages reported by people on the Fantasy MV. (choice of digital vs print packages). Im thinking if it becomes a permanent change than the presail offers might change eventually. I might preorder now in case it changes before June.

Just off the Fantasy MV. FYI, you can no longer carry your credits from one cruise to the next. They do not sell any packages of "credits" on board the Fantasy. They had a 10 photo or 20 photo package and you could get either prints or a CD. According to shutters staff, they will be rolling these changes out across the fleet. They also had the CD available. I believe the 10 was $149 and the 20 was $249.

If it were me, I would only buy a package I knew I could finish.

Ewwww! I don't like this change!

Questions that jump to mind:
- I wonder how the different size pictures would figure into this?
- What if I want both prints and a CD?
- Does that mean the CD photos would include a border, or that the prints wouldn't?
- Or am I being too literal with the "either/or"?

I don't like the idea of not being able to use unused picture credits on future cruises. That really stinks! I had planned to buy a package again in October and if we didn't use them all to use them on our cruise next June. Guess I won't now!

Wait, so they're going to start limiting the number on pictures you can get on a CD? And it will be twice the price for 20 on a CD vs. 20 physical prints?

I read it as they are offering a 10 or 20 photo package. The package can either be printed or on a CD. AND they are still offering the CD containing all photos taken. (presumeably for a much higher price).

sorry, dont know how to cut and paste here...

Shutters ad on Fantasy Navigator shows CD with unlimited pictures $349 and for $50 more , you can all the prints as well.

We're just a family of two and that's way too much for us but, I know I lot of people that are very interested in it
